The Halo Effect might be worth you looking at too. Basically In Flames with Mikael Stanne on vocals (from Dark Tranquility, another band that was responsible for starting the Gothenburg Sound of melodic death metal in the 90s). And yes, In Flames is one of the grandparents, the LUCA of melodeath.
This whole album is fantastic. One of the best melodic death metal albums of all-time imo. You should check out Dark Tranquility too. Same era (mid 90's), same style and they've had some of the same band members as well.
Trying your best not to burst out laughing being mean to that idiot 😂 Ive never been able to get into In Flames - in any of their forms. Their old stuff is probably my favourite of theirs and the new album had some good moments. This track was pretty solid! Fun and bouncy with some catchy, spooky melodies.
I love the energy in your work Mel. If you made a channel where you just tear wankers to shreds with facts, I would make several accounts and subscribe them all. Your perspective on critique is both honest and refreshing. Genuine people are few and far between these days. The internet needs more Mels and less Marks
Unfamiliar with In Flames, I like the classic double guitar sound. The vocal contrast is really nice, too. They're added to the rotation for sure. And Mark sounds like a dork. :)
Cool song! Great band! Awesome rhythm section! You are totally P.H.A.T.! Petty, Hilarious, Analytical, and Tantalizing! That Idiot could not handle a Real, strong, Intelligent, Scottish Lady! Please check out Tommy the Cat, by Primus! Guest starring Tom Waits as Tommy the Cat! We love You, Your Dudes! Keep up the great work My Fine Scottish Lady! ❤❤❤
I prefer , more violence (steel melo/death) but more interesting. I recommend listening to the new OPETH - §3, new Nightwish - An Ocean Of Strange Islands. 2 great songs
Old In Flames is the best! They lost me since 2002 "Reroute To Remain", though, when they went nu-metal. Although their latest album "Forgone" sounds pretty good. If you enjoy this sound, I would highly recommend a new band called The Halo Effect, which consists entirely of former and present members of In Flames. And you must check out the band closely related to In Flames, Dark Tranquillity. Their albums "The Gallery" and "Mind's I" are masterpieces of melodic death metal. Cheers! P.S. Fuck the haters, you're awesome!
THIS. I LOVE Lunar Strain (Mikael Stanne, Dark Tranquility after that), Reroute to Remain was the last one I enjoy. Dark Tranquility discography is more enjoyable, they diverge into dark-post-metal-goth-whatever instead of that nu-metal thing In Flames did, and Stanne is a better vocalist overall
Reroute to Remain is a departure but I never got a shitty nu metal sound. Maybe more "accessible" but I think it's got some pretty good stuff on it. It's definitely better than "Soundtrack to your escape". That album sounds like trash and that stupid " the quiet place" song might be their worst song. That sing sounds like nu metal trash for sure.
Now In Flames is one of the bands that came from the Gothenburg "sound" of melodic death metal and both In Flames and At the Gates is hugely influential in metal and i would say is the precursor of metalcore (there is probably a lot of people who would disagree with that but to me it is anyhow). In Flames went more approachable in many ways whereas At the Gates did less of that and of the two i prefer At the Gates. But in terms of influence on the metal genre and visibility in the metal scene In Flames is the much bigger band. Even if i dont listen to In Flames that much i will instantly recognize an In Flames song even if i have not heard it before.
In Flames catalogue is broad, deep and ever-changing.
I recommend, Disconnected.
Thank you I’ll check it out 😁
My fa band in my teenage years! Fun to see you listen to this ✌
They were smashing 😄
That whole album is so fire! And that song, so good! Can't get enough of InFlames.
It’s definitely a new song for the car rotation 😄 thanks for watching my dude 😎

Oh okay! I’ll look it out. Thank you my dude 😎
Anders at a young age wrote like he knew something. Dudes knowledgeable AF!
Love the band and your videos
Thank you my dude ❤️
If you like the melo death sound, but like a lower "growl", check out Australian melo death group Be'lakor and their song The Smoke of Many Fires.
Oh that’s a new one! Thank my dude 😄
If In Flames is your jam, I´d recommend Touch Of Red. Amazing song
I think that you're awesome, for your openness to music

if you like this, check out Soilwork. Stabbing the Drama is a good starting point .

This is Will Ramos' fav band :)
That makes too much sense!! Thanks for watching 🥰
you can rank the In Flames Discography just by year it came out, first is the best and so on..

My kind of metal

Pretty, not petty! You are Very Pretty! Sorry.
Absolutely love old In Flames, the band was never the same after Jesper left! , i still prefer old At the gates over In flames though.
Thanks for watching my dude 😄

of the Gothenburg sound bands i was definitely more into At the gates as well.
More of a Soilwork lad myself, when it comes to Gothenburg-adjacent metal. Weirdly, they don't get much attention nowadays.
Enjoyed in flames since 2003. I find them a bit and miss for most of their disco. When they hit they're bangers though.
Honestly, the extra hot sauce of some of the Melodies really got me on this one. A surprising banger for me 😄
Keep on trolling the trolls. I love you, all of you!
Thank you Brian 😄

Same here. Their folk music inspired stuff was a lot better. They haven't really managed to make anything truly great since Clayman.

@@mattkandel2449 I agree with you, yeah I agree, yeah

You should listen to The Hive on the same album
I’ll check it out 😊
naaah..... not Nick Cavey but rather Swedish folkmusic played on guitar rather than violin and key harp ;-)
This song has one major problem for me, the vocals are set in the back and instruments drown it out. I really like the melody.
You broke the first rule as a reactor, pausing during a Guitar solo. The punish, immediately a thumb down.
@@matforsbon oh no whatever will I do??? Oh yeah move on with the day cos your actions change nothing.
Don't care what you do, I'll just deliver the rightful punishment that's all.
@ the rightful punishment 😂 okay judge dread. Whatever makes you feel powerful. You must have the limpest of dics to need that thumbs down so hard.
Yes you are right!
@ well congrats. This engagement has now helped the video more than your thumbs down punishment hindered it. Thank you
