A stop in antarctica is literally the only conceivable thing that could convince me to get on a cruise ship, especially after the pandemic made me aware of what absolute disease playgrounds they are. And they didnt even actually do the stop in antarctica...
Well even if they did stop there they wouldn't be allowed to get off at Antarctica (despite what some delusional passengers seem to have thought). Boats that size with that many people do not have landing permissions for Antarctica
@@jazzycat8917i don't think it's delusional to expect what you're advertised to get. it's closer to delusional to assume the average person knowns about Antarctic laws.
There are cruises that are specifically for Antarctica, but they are much smaller ships and definitely a different sort of clientele. An elderly friend of mine went on one because she wanted to see Antarctica before global warming got much worse and it seemed like the people on the boat all just really loved nature. One was even a photographer and got high zoom pictures of the penguins when they were outside.
@@ShaCaro Except it's not advertised, it was a false assumption just because they read the itinerary and seen there's a stop at that location. Stops don't mean you can just leave the ship, or that ship will land at all.
I don’t think they missed Antartica, I think no one realized they wouldn’t be going on land because their boat was too big. Only certain sized ships are allowed to land. So, everyone was pissed.
People really wanting drama to happen really reminds me of a video I saw, can't remember by who, but it was about a study that a man did who was CONVINCED that people out at sea of differing walks of life in a stressful situation would either turn incredibly violent or incredibly horny. Instead they became really close and formed a little communal support system for each other and there was only maybe one instance of two people getting busy. The most stressed person on that boat WAS the researcher.

TO be fair, they do have to go advocate for themselves if they want a refund for the missed tender ports. I believe that its rare? in the cruise world for them to AUTOMATICALLY refund, and that in most cases unless it is clearly stated that they DO refund automatically for missed ports that you have A. have travel insurance that covers the risk or B. go and complain/ask for the refund personally to guest services. It wouldn't be the first time a hospitality industry place operated a bit sussily in the shadows by hoping you won't know to ask until after the time has elapsed where you can, or after you've long left the cruise and its too late or something. It would be a way to make money anyway and businesses have never really shied away from making money off people's lack of awareness of processes and stuff. If it is not REQUIRED to tell you about how you can get money back, they wont.
My mum is going on her first cruise ever later this year and something I’ve learned second hand from her research is how insanely elitist cruise goers can be. You ask pretty much any question on one of their forums and you’ll be inundated with smarmy critiqued and “advice.”
cruise fans being insane and volatile is honestly the least surprising thing i've heard in awhile. also just heard about the weirdo who went live in the members only area and was apparently just spouting disgusting rhetoric, also unsurprising. cruises are already a measure of class and a 9 month one that costs $60k and doesn't include water bottles unless you've already spent literal years and hundreds of thousands on their other cruises feels like satire, but is also not that surprising, and it feels like the ones paying that much to get into the members area are clearly so privileged they're likely convinced inherently that all minorities are evil and trying to ruin their cruises via tiktok. shout out to that karen of the sea who clearly has never faced actual adversity in her life, claiming everyone who's employed on a cruise is just as well treated and well off as her. she's real aware of the world around her, i'm sure.
They are usually volatile because they are on the level with most people who use private jets and refuse to accept that their form of luxury is at the cost of the lower class, and involves abuse of the lower class, and damages the planet immensly.
Corperate/company suck ups are the worst. They fight for companies that exploit them and don't give a shit aboit them personally yet they make collect calls to squeal on a harmless person taking a sneak peek into the elitism of people.

the most memorable thing about the one cruise I've been on is that the hallways outside the guest rooms always smelled like sewage. I did not want to know why
Honestly the debate about whether or not someone is a swinger is..gross? I'm confused why we're all openly speculating about someone's sexual preferences as if that isn't a very well known form of sexual harassment. I've had people try to play sleuth on my interests in the bedroom before and it's genuinely so very uncomfortable. Who gives a crap if there's pineapples. It's none of your business. Stop swarming people online trying to figure out how they screw.
I'm glad i watched you video on this. I enjoyed it. Thank you! You're like the second UA-cam video I've watched on the world cruise but I've seen a couple advertised that i didn't watch. Wholesome take. Still working my way through the lost video series!
I mostly wanted the harmless funny stuff like the pineapple misunderstanding and the wine shortage. What I didn't expect was seeing what looks like a prototype for the Fallout live action.
My wife and I took a week-long Royal Caribbean cruise a couple months ago and we had such a good time…but I can’t even imagine doing a trip anything more than that
Not sure if anyone commented, but the godmother of a ship is a person chosen to sponsor a new ship. I usually think of it like they are there for the "christening" of a new ship. I believe they typically pick celebrities, royalty, or someone important.
thanks for making a smaller sized video on this subject summing it up. I've been seeing way too many video thumbnails on this cruise but was really confused on which to follow to get an on the whole comprehensive guide. I think this pretty much just summed up and showed me that it might be a while before that happens, since this cruise is still happening for now at the time of this post. I think people just think this cruise will be an Internet Historian style disaster thing mainly based on that whole pattern thing that humans have in their brains. with how if we see a few things that we know to previously court trouble and stuff we put together that a larger one should follow. Mostly based on how we've heard all the problems that cruises tend to have based on things that kind of spread pop culturally in the news in the last decade or two and have come out revelation-wise about the industry. also...I just realized something as i was writing this. PEOPLE HAVE WAY MORE CAMERAS and the ability to share stuff now than they did maybe in 2012 or 2013. Because smart phones have become better at recording and more people have them, as well as the platform to share stuff across other platforms, it just became WAY EASIER socially to show either minuscule or big things everywhere really fast. And this is especially appealing like you said for people who've never been on a cruise to live vicariously through the people on the boat and it being pretty much like a giant summer camp. I think also becasue of all the cameras there, you have a greater chance of seeing some of the more everyday flaws and wrinkles of the industry that you wouldn't see on the promotional videos. Also maybe people on the cruises in the past might not've talked about this before, because they were too into the idea of the sensations of the cruise itself and could only remember the major highlight big points of their time on there. And not the small everyday stuff with the wrinkles, since humans can retain so much stuff in their heads by the time they maybe tell someone afterwards. So the added cameras are pretty much acting as an outside world look at all the miscellaneous minor things happen on a cruise or might go wrong on a cruise without being a full on major disaster. And we as the outside viewers at looking at this in real time in little bits from whoever posts their curated pieces and views from their perspective on the cruise covering different parts of the cruise. thanks again for the concise video on this topic
This is essentially a legion of malcontents wishing they could also take a 9 month long vacation, desperately wishing the people who could have as bad a time as possible for the sake of schadenfreude and entertainment. And it's honestly sad, social media really is a plague.

What happened?
Dude went live and ranted about how skin volour does not reflect how you get treated. That he got in trouble hes been pulled over by police... Basically a racist, bigotted and privilaged rant. @calummarkie covered it. 😮
that sounds awesome there needs to be more crazies on the cruise
@@milliondollarmistake I can’t tell if you’re being edgy or you’re just a complete fool lol
Oh my god. The moment you said it was like summer camp, it just clicked. Everything makes sense now.
It’s so strange seeing someone I went to high school with go viral for basically going on a cruise with her family.
I don’t think they missed Antartica, I think no one realized they wouldn’t be going on land because their boat was too big. Only certain sized ships are allowed to land. So, everyone was pissed.
@@everythingpony certain ships were too big to allow people to land. That’s what I meant.
Sounds like the Acali Raft
I know Wendigoon did a video on it
Nothing is more funny than the cruise running out of wine of all things.
As a couch potato, introverted, part-time weeb, gamer with a full time job; I couldn't care less about the small quarters or seeing the same people again and again. 9 Months is a bit long, but I'll manage. But you couldn't *pay* me enough money to get on a cruise. I also couldn't care less about the people on the cruise.
I just watch the video because Billiam seems like a good guy, so I watch his videos.
Yeah like. I don't know if I would necessarily want to be on a giant boat for nine months, but being able to go on a cruise like that would mean I have enough money to stop working for nine months and honestly that sounds kinda nice.
ive been on a royal caribbean cruise once! (also my only cruise) a 10 day affair w 3 days spent at destinations. and even *then*, w the interruptions to the time spent at sea, i was already feeling trapped by day 8. i could never imagine being stuck as a passenger for 9 months!
6:30 and yeah thats a thing that all rc ships do on the last few days for some reason! (my sister & i won bc we were the only ones who bothered to find a plastic bag to make a parachute out of)
also the wifi is not complementary! these tictokers r paying for the luxury of posting (and no, phone service only rly works in ports, ud b lucky to get anything other than a single bar of legacy (ie phonecall only) service)
@@vulpixie__ honestly having been on one im shocked it works well enough to post a tiktok, i honestly sort of thought it might be mobile service somehow because the internet was that worthless there lmao
7:55 re: parasociality "You're not friends with me, but I could be friends with them."
LOL, that's adorably self-conscious.
I’ve not used tik tok and never will so this is the first time I’m hearing about this. And unless somebody I watch makes a follow up video, it will almost certainly be the last time.
I just was on a cruise and “Titanic” was the answer to one of the trivia questions…
What was the question? “Other then the cruise your on, what other ship didn’t have enough lifeboats?” 😵💫
cruise fans being insane and volatile is honestly the least surprising thing i've heard in awhile. also just heard about the weirdo who went live in the members only area and was apparently just spouting disgusting rhetoric, also unsurprising. cruises are already a measure of class and a 9 month one that costs $60k and doesn't include water bottles unless you've already spent literal years and hundreds of thousands on their other cruises feels like satire, but is also not that surprising, and it feels like the ones paying that much to get into the members area are clearly so privileged they're likely convinced inherently that all minorities are evil and trying to ruin their cruises via tiktok. shout out to that karen of the sea who clearly has never faced actual adversity in her life, claiming everyone who's employed on a cruise is just as well treated and well off as her. she's real aware of the world around her, i'm sure.
A "no swear zone" is not a fine policy, it is patronising and insane.
7:55 i really appreciate billiam's willingness to be vulnerable to me. that's why he's my best friend.
3:29 trying to take a cruise ship through the ice sheets sounds like a terrible idea
I only knew Marc from BookTok and his gachapon-opening videos, so to suddenly see him become Enemy #1 in the Royal Caribbean sphere was absolutely jarring. Thanks, Billiam, for providing the timeline of events that led to this point.
Omg yes! Summercamp with booze!😂
Great commentary!! And what a sweater!! It looks beautiful on you!
I came for the drama, I stayed for the cute dorky grandparents.
How is that one man can be so handsome and so humorous??? Insane vid bro, keep it up 💥💯
20:45 man I love billy’s delivery
I have no idea how I missed this, but a video about this cruise right during your "Lost deep dive" era is absolutely perfect.
This is the first time hearing about this world cruise, and I've been checking out Marc Sebastian's tiktoks and it's a gold mine. Dude is just reveling in people getting pissed at him!
I love that karen of the seas put quotes around liveable wage
feel oddly called out by the ad read being a “snooze cruise” cuz the first cruise I went on was with a group of people with narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia … we were on the Carnival Triumph not too long after it broke down and got stuck at sea n had major food and running water n toilet issues 🤢 this video is too relatable
The Ultimate World Cruise: *exists.*
People on TikTok: Is this a reality show?
I don’t have tiktok. Thanks for this lol
Edit: this is making me really glad I don’t have tiktok
Respect for putting Ruby/Sapphire swim theme into the video
I'm literally playing emerald right now, and geeked out a bit when I heard the swim music in the video lol
this just goes to show much i I go on tiktok as this is the first I'm hearing about this (outside of the 9 mouth cruise a friend told me about that a while ago) and it's wild
Adita is so sweet, she didnt even know what swingers was and that the pinapple meant something else-
She basically became an icon on the ship
As someone who has BEEN on the Seranade of the Sea (that exact ship), I would have shot for a nicer place to be trapped on for several months. There were some... concerning technical problems during my trip (not surprised at all about the pool deck lol)
My whole family impersonated pinnacle members when my grandparents, who are pinnacle brought us to the pinnacle only restaurant on a RC cruise. We did it for our whole stay and nobody ever said anything lol
the most memorable thing about the one cruise I've been on is that the hallways outside the guest rooms always smelled like sewage.
Watching this almost a week late, but a Billiam video is always a great time for me, regardless of the subject matter.
10:40 LMAO! This is one epic joke. Would be even funnier if it's true.
Love the new haircut
imagine someone who booked the cruise specifically to see antartica and now theyre just pissed for months
I like watching you entertainingly talk about things I personally don't care about. You make it more interesting.
I love the way billiam says ‘the boat’ like it’s a LOST video and he says ‘THE ISLAND’
I'm so glad you made a video about this because I heard about it in passing, but I didn't want to take the time to find out more for myself haha
This is the best video I've seen on this topic!
As a juicer, I find 5:27 absolutely hilarious and unexpected.
no offense but "a one way ticket to sleep" just sounds like dying.
I'm glad i watched you video on this. I enjoyed it. Thank you! You're like the second UA-cam video I've watched on the world cruise but I've seen a couple advertised that i didn't watch.
Wholesome take. Still working my way through the lost video series!
I want, “Dance for me, IT’S HUMAN NATURE!” on a hoodie.
As someone that just went on a cruise (in winter) after the first 2 days you kinda just stand around asking “well what do we do now?”
I mostly wanted the harmless funny stuff like the pineapple misunderstanding and the wine shortage.
What I didn't expect was seeing what looks like a prototype for the Fallout live action.
I am into you, being into this! I support you Billiam!
Hey rad video, and also I like your sweater! Your style is always absolute fire, I appreciate that and you should know it is noticed
I thought the title said they turned Tom Cruise into a reality show, and now i'm slightly disappointed
He's been a reality show ever since he got into that cult.
Tom Cruise turned HIMSELF into a reality show.
Imagine if Tom Cruise was 9 months long
My wife and I took a week-long Royal Caribbean cruise a couple months ago and we had such a good time…but I can’t even imagine doing a trip anything more than that
I'm so glad you covered this!
Lol. Sounds like living in a small town with a finicky car...
Also Billiam, your hair looks 🔥
I got an ad for a cruise ship on this and this is my first cruise related video ive watched in years
THE WAY MY HEART LEAPT OUT OF MY CHEST WHEN YOU SAID “What do you think, Savanna?” 😭
Oh the pineapple lady is just so charming xD
Yasss, Billiam talking about my new obsession of this social experiment
This is essentially a legion of malcontents wishing they could also take a 9 month long vacation, desperately wishing the people who could have as bad a time as possible for the sake of schadenfreude and entertainment. And it's honestly sad, social media really is a plague.
The half in a bag intro music really gave this a certain vibe. Good job Billy!
I was expecting a 10 hour follow up lost video but this is great too haha keep up the amazing work
I first found Billiam with his Lost video, glad we get to see him cover the prequel.
the people trying to get marc in trouble while not even being on the cruise. brooooooo this was so irritating to witness bv the people on it seemed to love him but fuck that if he personally makes YOU angry then thats all that matters
Nice video as always, in the middle of watching your newest lost video and it’s very good as well
Fingers crossed for a part 2 for this when the cruise is over. 🤞
I'll never understand cruise ships.
I love cruises so much. But, yeah it is a floating gaudy shopping mall. A relaxing gaudy shopping mall.
Seems like the perfect thing to talk after hoping of the lost plane .
I've never seen the appeal of cruise ships. Until Now! 😏 This cruise is my new favorite show.
