You’re a braver man than me waving that fucking magic arm around that work of art 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
more something like this sir.....
love it
Cheers man!!
Ella is a great car 😁
It is stunning
This is so cool!
Thanks so much man!
Man I actually really really enjoyed this.
Awesome, glad you liked it 😊
That was a great video. Love this kinda behind the scenes insight into the actual shoot. If you could explain why you're doing what you're doing, or what you're thinking about while doing the different exposures, it'll be even better. Great work man!
Thanks man, you can hear me mumble some thoughts after each exposure but sure I can try that next time
@@ShootingDave to be honest for those us of using similar methods we know what your thinking i find it funny and relief im not the only one who talks to myself when shooting lol
Hahahahaha I always talk to myself
Great video
Thanks so much man
Please more of these
more please!
Great topic - light-painting cars is very near and dear to my heart as you may remember! A couple of comments and things making me wonder...
1) Lord... just to have KNEES again! I couldn't produce a shoot like this without sounding like a cross of Gordon Ramsey and Godzilla as I kneel !
2) If you shoot a properly exposed over-all image before it's dark, it can give you a little leeway to fill in spots if your light wand misses anything.
3) Do you (ever) try to wind up with a final image that gently produces light from a particular direction instead of "over-all" lit...?
4) How many image layers do you generally wind up using? (I'm routinely around 50-75, sometimes 150-200!)
5) I'm seriously going to buy you a WIRELESS remote !!!
6) (and lastly !) I must find more cars with leather belt buckles...
Great to see your work as always!!!
Thanks Curt! Glad you liked it.
1) haha that made me laugh.
2) true but prefer to control all light.
3) yeah I try to always have a single directional source.
4) typically I use 3-6 layers to keep it simple.
5) I should really shoot tethered to review images on a larger screen.
6) haha yeah it was a pretty nice touch.
Thanks again man.
That is great, as a wannabe car photographer this type of content helps a lot to get to a scene with some kind of workflow and then work the scene great video.
Thanks so much man
True goat of lightpaintings! Love this Gopro view so you can actually see where you hold light and how you move, also from mumbling you can hear what you might think you want to achieve with that pass! Keep doing these, great work!
Thanks so much man! Glad you like it. I’ll try and find ways of doing more
Great vid, I learned a lot! 👌🏼🙌🏻
Excellent! Glad I could help
Killer video as usual man!!!
Thanks so much man
I would totally be into watching more of these! Always interested to learn more about automotive photography
Thank you so much dude
Hey! Why did you stop making videos? :) Great content!
INCREDIBLE!! Definitely deserve more subs man!
Thanks man! I need to make more videos haha
@@ShootingDave dude I’ve been following your Instagram for a while now and truly enjoy your material! Mindblown every time!🤯😂
Keep ‘em coming man! 🤝 lol
Well thanks so much man! I appreciate that, once life gets a little quieter I’ll try and get out shoot again.
Thank you so much. That's exactly what i've been looking for for years now. I would love to see more :D
Awesome man! I’ll do more in the future
👍
What an opportunity! This is great, Dave.
Thanks Tom!
Great to see the BTS Dave, great work bud! 👏
Thank you so much 😊
Awesome video Dave
Thanks Dave! Hope you’re well dude
@@ShootingDave all good here and trust Amy and you are keeping well on that side of the pond?
Yeah man, doing great thanks 😊
Great idea with the GoPro. Please more of it. Its so helpfull to see how you moving the light.
The only thing i didn't understand is: Why is the light in the 4 Image so thin and Sharp, because your rotate the ice light?
Yessir! I use the thin side not the wide side
@@ShootingDave a way around even having the light in there is create a hood for it, how i do my yn360 light bar shoots minimal if any light leak
Yep I have one, I don’t use it, maybe I should try it again
Come baaaack :)
awesome car, awesome capture, awesome first person view of the shooting itself - think you should do some Q&A sessions for those of us who do light paint and those who want to get into it also maybe do a CC session where you feedback on others work? love to hear other peoples thought on my work betting few others do too
Sounds good man, I could do a Q&A session but I have also made a lot of videos on this topic. The CC session would be a good idea though.
Awesome video Dave! really interesting to see how you frame the car, how you are using the lights and hearing your live thought process. After seeing a couple of your videos I want to test out light painting on my dad's 930 Turbo : -)
Awesome, glad you like it! Have fun, your Dad has a very cool car!
Thank you Dave, more of that. Are that shown pictures unedited? It would be nice if you keep the exif while you are doing the shoot shown. And how the Eff does the Icelight produce so much light that you can do 8 seconds and the picture is fully lit?
Hey man, the exposures I showed were all unedited 😊 I use the same settings for all them, I did change the shutter speed from 8-10 seconds. Haha it isn’t an Icelight, that’s how it produces so much light 🤣
@@ShootingDave WHat is it then? Pocket Nuclear Reractor?
🤣🤣🤣 it’s the one in my description, I can never remember what it is called.
Hey Dave, did you black tape one side of your light stick ? I have an lc500r and as it's cylindrical and translucent all around it leaks light, super annoying getting unwanted light.
Yeah I did and I put black card inside it too
Hi Dave, are you going to show the editing did you do a video on that?
Hey Johan, probably not, no. I haven’t made a video in months.
@@ShootingDave Hi Dave what a pity i really love your videos and as i only starting out now to do light painting cars i really need as much info as possible, and your technique is the best I've seen on UA-cam. Is their another way of communicating with you if i need some critique on work done?
I just haven’t been able to commit time to making videos since work has been busy and I got a dog. Everything I know is in the videos, I have honestly given out all the information I can
Let’s add music to the back ground! The photographer was on point. but I don’t want to hear the breathing or the snaps of the gear. What I do want to listen to is the cars and if I can’t get that then let’s go for a hop wheele shot
Cool, I’ll dial up the background music next time
Come back
Maybe one day man
Why he disappeared and doesnt make any videos ?
Yeah sorry, life and work got a little busy. Once I start shooting again I shall return.
