    Awesome advice, really appreciate it. Please keep pushing out the instructional videos (LS/LT). Everything I’ve learned about tuning I’ve learned from videos and forums. You are by-far the best I’ve seen and follow. Again, really appreciate you and what you’re doing for us trying to get better… thank you.

    On the diagnostic side, can you show some examples of what to look for when you have a vacuum leak, exhaust leak, or maybe any other common problems that you might deal with. Keep up the great work. Your the man.

    Still learning how to tune my car for the last 4 years. My biggest hurdle with my car is tuning during heat soak and rich after reflash issues. WOT is a little easier, but cruise sometimes beats me up.

    I have been watching your videos for a while now and I love it! I have a 17 silverado, which I recently installed a billet torque converter. I had been wanting to get the transmission dialed in and for the time being, deactivate dod, and your videos have pointed me into the directions of HPTuners and doing it all myself instead of paying more by going through a tuner

    I learned how to do "chip" burning years ago for my TPI cars using the Moates software. I would say that I got good enough with it for my own stuff. I helped a few friends out, but definitely wasn't offering it as a service.
    Fast forward to a few months ago, my friend that did all of my Gen III LS tuning closed up shop and moved out of state. I ended up buying HPT MPVI3, no wideband yet. But, I have very slowly learned some basics. I'm ready to install a larger cam and better cylinder heads, and I am kind of lost on how to even begin the VE tuning.
    I do all of my own mechanical work and understand how an ICE works. I'm just not used to the layout of HPT and knowing what each thing does.

    You have helped me so much so far with tuning on my Gen 3 LS. I will watch your videos and make little changes during my tuning time. So far I have learned so much and I love every video. Please keep it up, I want to soon tune my wife’s Gen 4 LS to help give her truck some more power.

    First off, thank you for such a great video I appreciate not only how you explain and get your message out and all the work that goes into putting out such good content. I did a ls swap in my driveway sent out the pcm to get a base start up tune. Which did what it said start . Unfortunately, where I am, there are only a very few tuners. I knew I would have to learn to tune myself, but it has been very intimateing . Just wanted to say thanks for trying to keep it simple for simple people like me. I will continue to watch your content and try to apply it to swap once I get hp tuners software. Thanks, please keep bringing it👊

    I love the idea of starting off knowing how to tune a old school distributor and carbureted engine because most all engine and tunning concepts carry over then its just learning the what the sensors read and the software and how to make changes in the tune. Thanks for the videos! im just getting into HP tuners and starting reading my truck and making small changes

    I appreciate your passion for tuning. I'm old school in that I started tuning with screw drivers, wrenches and the sort. Understanding how to diagnose, troubleshoot ....etc .... is so helpful for me. I'm just now learning HP tuners and I'm learning more and more. I've made some tweaks, and will continue to tweak the final tune from my tuner.

    Excellent info! I've broken into using HPTuners on Ford Mod Motors to DIY my tuning (own a '09 Ford Mustang GT w\ Spanish Oaks ECU) & I've found to date everything you've said to be spot on true concerning tuning in general! Even thought my platform is Ford based, I watch your videos (as well as do a LOT of research on the 'Net) & help to run up your likes as a LOT of your info (even though it's primarily GM LS based) can be correlated to the Ford platform, just that Ford goes about doing some of it in different ways\methods to arrive at the same results. Keep on keeping on, brother! 👍

    Enjoy your videos. New to newer vehicles, mods and tuning. Just got a 2019 challenger r/t. Was pushed towards HP for tuning. Learning what I can so when I talk with the tuner. I have an idea what he is gonna ask for. I’m In process of adding Procharger.

    Just came across your videos. Awesome so far. I am brand new to HP tuners. Haven’t even read my car yet. Long story short, it’s a heads/cam LS1, 99 Camaro. Had it tuned in Ohio, and ran great. Moved down here to Florida in June and I was concerned at first. Air/fuel seems to be fine based on gauge but some point I adjusted the throttle screw and all hell broke loose. Won’t cold start unless I treat it like a carb. Once I get it running, it surges up and down in idle until it warms up, shifts way too early and the CEL comes on for the TPS voltage being too low. That being said, what should I look at or do initially once I get the car read and am scanning? Thanks!

    Quick status check question. I built a 403 aluminum LS stroker from an L76 long block and added an LSA blower. Everything is new and i just added a pair of AEM 30-0300 kits with the new FAE sensors. One in each collector. MPVI2 with Pro Link. I figured out how to add them in for data logging. My niche will be my own vehicles only. I've been building and tuning cars for 25 years but I'm new to computers. It's frustrating spending hours and hours a day just trying to figure out what tables over lap. I understand fuel mixtures (carb jetting) and timing (distributers) but connecting the dots when I'm not very good with computers is killing me. I need hands on training. Where do i go? Ive read about BTR traveling and doing co-op training, is this a good start? Budget is no issue...

    I am interested in learning this. Is there a way to get in touch with you to ask a few questions? Like what I should get in order to start up. I don't use it computer at home but I have a few older laptops. I think you may be answering my other questions here. Thank you for posting these videos. I have been searching for a job I can do with my disability, and this could possibly be a good option. I am excited but I need to know more.

      I only know a little bit about it. I’ve always associated it as a full race car kind of ECM and that’s just not my style. I prefer to tune vehicles that spend as much or more time on the street as they do the track.

    Do you think tuning is a dying profession since electric cars are coming in.

    • @justinb1488
      @justinb1488 9 місяців тому

      People that need cars tuned are not likely to go electric anytime soon... unless it's forced.

    • @Matt_Sanford
      @Matt_Sanford  9 місяців тому +1

      I do think tuning is a dying profession but not because of electric vehicles. I think it’s dying due to constraints on the new ecms. It is becoming extremely costly to tune newer vehicles and it seems to be getting worse every day.
      That’s the main reason I wanted to start this channel. I want this stuff out in the public view so it can be searched for later down the road. I have a strong feeling that tuning will be more DIY based in the upcoming years.
