Matt, u r DAMAN bro. These vids did me better than tune school did. In Feb 22. I pulled my 7500 mile L87 out of my 20 Trailboss Silverado 10 speed no damage. ( I got bored😂) Purchased a TSP 416 LT1 Stroker short block for Boost. Whipple, 10:1 Maule Pistons, Callies Magnum Crank. Callie’s Compstar Extreme H-Beam Rods. Waiting on headers for 4 months now. The LT4 pump waited 6 months then $$ a Lingenfelter High Pump. Homemade external fuel system plus OEM pump in tank. Originally was going E-85 now going with meth then I can stay with pump gas. Gonna self tune HP tuner setup. Your vids gave me so much more education than the tuning school did. I think it’s the southern thing bro. I’m in N’awlins
I have binge watched all of your videos over the last couple days and just wanna say you’re doing gods work man I’ve learned so much already…..I’ve been fairly proficient up to p59 ecu’s and had rough luck on the torque based ecu’s and I’m glad you’re teaching those!
I dont know jack crap about tuning and through youtube rabbit whole I came across your channel. As I said i dont know anything about tuning but watching your instruction content is amazing and I hope the guys that know tuning appreciate your step by step instructions. Thank You
Watched this video at least 3 times. Put everything back to stock you adjusted in this video and went with your adjustments to get my truck idling better than it ever has. Thanks for all the great info! Keep it coming!!
Great Video. Helps a lot since I don't know what I am doing. Trying to learn tuning first vehicle is a 5th gen. Having issues adjusting the virtual torque. When I try to change anything on that table it does nothing.
So glad I found your channel. I’m brand new to tuning and I’ve searched every UA-cam video and forum on gen v. Cannot wait for some more Gen v tuning info! You explain everything very well!
Already at 2k ! see this channel really blowing up in the future with this good informational content.
Just found your channel, these are super helpful as I got hptuners for my Gen V silverado. Thanks!
This video is great, to say the least. Lot of valuable information in this. Nicely done and thanks for sharing!
Yea, I'm tracking.. Good stuff.
Excellent info Matt! I'm tuning on a Ford Spanish Oak ECU using HPTuners that doesn't have a lot of what you've shown for a GM Gen V\LT, but it does have the same base P\N & Drive RPM, airflow, spark, VCT\VCT Spark Multi Adder maps & TM DD TQ Request tuning tables using MAF to check\correct Ford's hybrid ver of SD to properly tune idle on a bigger cam thus IMHO is relevant. Wish Ford had someone to do all this back in the day for this ECU's VCT\VCT Spark Multi Adder map tables, so I get what you're doing. 👍👊
Like the vids. Is there somewhere to get more info on the torque tuning stuff? I have a gen 4 silverado l9h.
Question on gen 3 built N/A 6.0 truck .. how should i setup dynamic tables after tuning maf and VE ? Back to stock settings ?
Is the same tune can be applied on this cam “GM OEM Non-DOD L83 Cam w/ VVT - 193/199 .502/.494 113+6”
Also would be super interested in some diesel stuff if you do any of that!
Thank you this is awesome. Only thing is Anyone else having trouble with VT table not working.
Yes… Try the beta version.
Can you please do a video on tuning the C7 Vette? Are the idle timing numbers the same for the Vette?
Hi Matt, you mentioned you prefer the stage 1 in the L83. I am curious to know why. I have a 2016 Sierra L83 2WD single cab 225K miles (one owner) that I want to do the DOD delete on. Trying to decide the best route to go. It will not be a daily driver. Thanks
Can u do something like this with the l96 6.0 hd trucks
Is there any way you could do this video on the new 2019+ GM trucks? Or even just the DOD delete part? I have recently done the hptuners unlock process and can't get mine disabled
After the camshaft is installed and the "git-r-running" or “getting into the zip code” tune is built and downloaded will any other perimeters other than the high RPM disable(4,000 to 100) and the high rpm enable(3,900 to 50) need to be changed back to their original values once the MAF and VE are calibrated?
Really helpful info here. For cams with larger fuel lobes, what all should be changed?
That’s simple. You only need to make 1 change. It’s table 17062 “Fuel Pump Leading Edge Angle”. You will open that table up and change the Fuel Volume axis. Multiply the whole axis by whatever the percentage the fuel lobe size has changed. So if you have a 32% lobe then just multiply by 1.32.
That’s all that’s needed.
Matt how do we get ahold of you for a tune?
Fk tuning school. Ima just watch all your videos!
Do you have a location in TN we can visit if we want you to assist with the tuning? I’m 3hr from Nashville and having idle issues on a fully built 6.2 running a BTR 225 cam
Email me at SkyeTuning@gmail.com and we can discuss options.
Hey where are your shop located
Does anyone have an idea on why my throttle position will not go any further than 39.6%? I have a 15 escalade 6.2 L86 with E 92 controller.
Also at the HP tuner booth at Sema this year, a former GM engineer said that the default engine displacement tab,(.7750) is an accurate. Which makes sense because that’s only based on bore and stroke. It doesn’t take the 59.2 cc heads or the 6 cc dish in the piston. This means that direct injected engine the amount of actual cc in the chamber needs to be adjusted.
I can't change my virtual torque table, what am i doing wrong here? Any help is appreciated.
Download the Beta version of the software and you will be able to.
Matt I have a question. Trying to get a friend's L83 swopped 70 c10 to start and idle. Same cam in your vid. Redone the tune with your recommendations. Have not been back to his place to try it , but one thing I noticed is the peddle tps us fine but the tb tps at idle is 3.4 or so volts and goes down with peddle input. He is using a psi wire harness. I am used to doing dodge tunes and both of those tps peddle and TB are close to the same at idle , so this stumps me.
Thanks and enjoy your vids.
Colin
my new cam says L86 cam
When I get to engine diag> misfire> revolution mode> I am unable to edit any of the idle tables. The sections open up and displays info as “read only” what do I need to do to edit this info?
Sometimes you have to just close the tune file and re-open it. Sometimes you have to update your software. It’s rare that this happens but I have seen it and it has happened to me.
