Thank you for this tutorial as it has everything to grow a fungus for an art school project! Subscribed and hit the bell just for the honors! And also good to follow along and good voice to listen too.
This might be a lil advanced for a first time user, but maybe not idk :) I'd suggest checking out my 20 quick tips video for a new user for sure :) thanks for watching hope it helps!
@@effectatron Ok, If I don t manage, I ll do that! :) I am familiar with after effecst so far, trying to push further. If I got it right, I can use the 3d things I create in c4d as objects in after effects for 3d scenes. A lot to learn ahead. Thanks!
thanks! Yes it is. It might take longer and slow down your viewport some. but you can use a sweep and a circle spline and add a slope to the size curve so its small at the start. So Sweep>Tracer+Circle Spline should grow the geometry. It will be harder to get the look of the uneven texture without redshift's displacement. You might have to bake it all as an alembic then add a displacer to it, now you geometry is gonna be real heavy and slow but it might work. You might can fake enough with a bump map or even better might be putting a vibrate tag on the size of the circle for you spline instead so it varies in size as time passes.
@@effectatron Cheers for the answer. I hope I can manage it since I am a beginner in c4d. I will try create some vine ish text in order to use them in my after effects videos. Will see how it goes, worth trying at least :)
@@AvatarofHate You might have better luck with my other tut on growing on any surface. Its a lil more advanced but should be good for growing vines on 3d text. came out with it after i found a more versatile method.
Hi, such a great tutorial you made! I have a question about this, though. If I were to use two or more splines and have an emitter follow each spline, does it work if I just duplicate the settings with different splines? I tried to do it that way, but somehow they all got mixed up that the emitters lost their paths, emitting weird ways. Thanks again for the great tutorial!
Hi! Im trying to apply this to a straight subdivided spline - would you know why when I add the random field they get stuck halfway down the spline? Thanks!
Hello, thank you so much for this tutorial! Looks great. I have a slight problem (sorry max user moving to cinema), the effect renders perfectly in progressive render but when I click to render at full resolution to picture viewer, the tracer is in a completely different location. Do I need to bake it somehow or is there something easy I'm missing? Many thanks in advance. Tris
Spline Text or MoText? If MoText i actually prefer the method I used in this tutorial -ua-cam.com/video/TFH5grHCsQI/v-deo.html But if Spline text with the emitters you really have to do trial and error and move around the spline in different points to start and then also adjust the rotation and the direction. There's not an exact science to it but if you use the method from the other tutorial it's more controllable. You will just need to extrude your text spline to make it a 3d object.
Suggestion - try and show what difference each step makes, rather than doing 3 or 4 or more steps in a row before showing the effects they’ve had on the scene. It will allow people to understand why your doing what you’re doing, as well just the order to do things in. Nice tut though
Sadly no, this uses field force and vector volumes which are new R21 exclusive features I believe. So r20 will not be able to do this at this level of control and ease.
finally a tutorial that doesnt require xparticles, the production value is on point and all with all amazing tutorial, thank you so much!

Wow this is nice. Slowly we don't need x-particles soon.
Just awesome!
great tutorial man thanks!
It s great, this will be my first thing that I ll do in c4d. Hope I can follow your steps. Also need to check how to get redshift working with c4d.

this is such a great tutorial thank you so much i couldn't afford xparticles ! How do you do your vector curls though ?
I'd have to do some testing for vector curls.
This is not working with the vector curls
Wow cool
Great video, I want to ask you, is it possible to create those without redshift, just in cinema 4d alone? Thanks!

@@effectatron Thanks, I should try that too, but the vines in that video don t look that spooky! :)
@@AvatarofHate thats true, its more the material and the lighting that makes it spooky :)

can we have more stuff specifically LIKE THIS in c4d😘

Loose Veiny Entrance! lol
Good afternoon. And how to work with the text, and then the emitter flies in different directions(

Didn't try R 21 yet? Is the tutorial useful for R 20?
Sadly no, this uses field force and vector volumes which are new R21 exclusive features I believe. So r20 will not be able to do this at this level of control and ease.
is this how Alex Mercer was made?
