Sooooooo excited for this. I haven't read this first part of the arc. Pre-ordered forever ago. Crazy excited. Had to get the DM cover because Checchetto art is just insane good. Can't believe we still got to wait so long.
I'm really glad I decided to read this digitally last month instead of jumping right into getting the omni. It's a light breezy read but not something that will stick in my mind for long, unlike Miller or Bendis' runs.
Had this pre ordered for a while! It looks great, can't wait for it to come!

Woooooo ! What a CINEMATIC experience this run was for me. Boy did Zdarsky take Matt Murdock through it. Daredevil to me, is a true example of perseverance.
PS: I love how alot of these modern marvel runs dive deep into their character’s psyche, this one of course AND: Donny Cates Venom, Al Ewing’s Immortal Hulk, Jason Aaron’s Thor, Jed McKay’s Moon Knight, just to name a few. I love seeing these characters broken down. So good.
Cinematic is the right word for it. The art is incredible!

@@peytonbrady-brittain6193 Miller's is on my list but I am not sure if I am liking the art style picked for Bendis' run from the previews I have seen.
@@PakistaniSenpai I love Miller's run, Born Again was the first gn I ever read. Bendis' DD is the only one I would say is better than Miler's. Maleev's art is amazing. I also love Waid's run and Chris Samnee should be drawing everything for DD.

Man am I glad I didn't bother buying any OHC's. I had a good feeling these omnis would be printed soonish. Should've bought the ones for Immortal Hulk though, never been a fan of huge fat omnis.

Got my copy of the regular omnibus yesterday and I love it. Arguably the nicest looking Daredevil omni to date. I am, however, very curious to know what went into the decision to feature a character that's not Daredevil in the image on the spine. Would've preferred to get an actual shot of Matt Murdock on the spine, but oh well.
Some of that sounds like the Brubaker run.

Is Soule necessary reading before this? I ask mostly because that omni goes for big money whenever I look... [that and idk if I have the room for how large it is.]
IMO read the Miller, Bendis, Brubaker and Waid runs, istead of Soule's run.

I just finished the Soule run recently and it was one of my favorites! But when it comes to Daredevil it’s really tough to say which is the all time best run. He’s one character that has had consistent top writers on his book, so just about any run has some amazing stories to offer.
If the Soule run is out of print right now, hold off until it gets reprinted. You’ve got a lot of GREAT Daredevil stories ahead of you! 👍🏼

@@NichoMania2 I HATED Shadowland when it was coming out in individual issues.LOL I felt Marvel forced a major crossover event onto Daredevil and I don't like picking up all the tie-in issues. A few years later Marvel had a clearance sale and I got the omnibus for about $30. When I read it in omnibus, I enjoyed it a lot more and I got to read the whole story. Not all the side miniseries are crucial to the story, but it was nice to read those other view points. Andy Diggle is a really good writer and I wish he had been able to stay with the character for longer than it took to tell that one story. If you can find the book for a good price get it, but it probably is lower on the list of DD omnibuses.

How does this fit in with the Devil's Reign Omnibus? I've been hesitant to buy Devil's Reign because I thought there might be a lot of overlap.
Love the Marco Checchetto art! But after reading some of Chips disappointing run on Batman, I'm not that excited to jump into this story... Even though you make it sound pretty good.
Who is the primary artist of this series?

Im still new to comics so I still dont understand some stuff, like wasnt this run 36 issues? But this omni only collects untill 30? Or is 30 the last issue for that story and the ones after is something else?
This entire zdarsky run was split into 2 volumes (I guess to make a new #1 issue for spectators) anyways 1st volume was #1-36 plus annuals and volume #2 had 14 issues in total so the next Omni will complete the final six of the first run and the remaining 14 of the second
Both volumes are connected of course it’s a continuation. They’re splitting up the omnis so it won’t just be a big bulky book I’m assuming…

I am buying everything with DD but I am skipping this one because of what Marvel did with the last OHC. I will keep my OHC and the tpbs instead of buying this.

@@SolidK9they were putting out this series in OHC but decided to just stop making them all together for some reason before the entire run was finished… so there’s basically a volume left unfinished…. Leaving an unnecessary gap in collectors shelves
Would’ve been a must buy double dip for me if Marvel had finished this in OHC’s. I know it’s not your fault Omar, but this sadly has just put me off of Marvel buying forever. Despite that, I’ll still be supporting your channel. Much love to you. Less love to Marvel with the way the CE department handled this run.

So, you're not buying Marvel at all because they didn't finish the run in OHC? That's rather extreme. Just sell your OHCs and buy the omnis.
@@MastermindAXL I appreciate your suggestion but that’s not the point here for me. Do I love the run? Absolutely! It’s the principle of it all. There was no reason to discontinue the OHC - for one of their most popular runs too - for the folks who supported this series. All it needed was one more OHC and even if they are phasing them out, they continued to finish out FF by Slott in that format and continued with Avengers by Aaron.
The point being for myself is why would I support a company in a niche hobby such as ours if they’ll happily do that? I’m not discouraging people to buy this because of what they did. Shoot, I’m still happy it’s coming out for folks who didn’t buy the OHC’s or didn’t care to. What I’m simply saying is for *myself* I can’t support them any longer. It’s a slap in the face especially since I wasn’t just buying OHC’s for myself, but I was buying 2 sets because I was gifting them to my dad who doesn’t care for omni’s. Regardless, Marvel seemingly doesn’t really care about losing a few loyal buyers because there’s just way more people who will buy the omni’s and that’s fine. My whole point being is they’ve lost a customer for life, I don’t care if they announce a DD by Nocenti omni at this point, because of the way this was handled. Will they care? No. Will it affect their bottom line? Absolutely not. But it gives *me* peace of mind not supporting a company who will happily do this to a fanbase for no reason. I hope you can see that perspective at least. :) Appreciate you having the conversation.

Definitely an overrated run. Chip Z is not a good writer. Just happened to get paired with some good artists. Not a writer of substance.
