Very helpful information, thank you! In setting up my “studio”, what should I put on the floor? I’m using a 2nd bedroom that has carpet as my place to paint and am concerned about protecting the floor. Thanks for any ideas you can share!
I nearly cried when I watched the section on adaptive art supplies. I'm in a wheelchair and I also have tremors. Art helps me so much just mentally but I've been frustrated a lot in the past and I never knew these things existed. I could hug you guys right now...you've made my day. I'm so so glad I'm participating in this class
Thank you for participating, and you are so very welcome. I think you will find these helpful. Keep on painting and sending you all the love and light 🤎🤎
My hands shake and don't work well. Nerve issues in my neck my fingers are numb alot and don't get signals to move. So I understand. I quit painting for years. Used to watch the videos all the time. Depression and the loss of all my supply's in a house fire then the medical issues. I decided I'm going to try again. Watching for some refresher
Love you to death. 25 years ago , I studied acrylic painting with an international artist. Now I’m feeling I need to do this again. Half of what he taught us, I forgot lots that he taught me. Thank you so much for your help and kindness. I couldn’t do this without you. God bless you.
Hello Gabrielle, Your kind words truly warmed our hearts. We're honored to be part of your artistic journey, It's quite normal to forget some techniques over time, but the beauty of art is that it's always waiting for you to rediscover it. Its like a fresh reboot and all of artists need to do that from time to time. I know I do! Thank you for trusting us to guide you through this process. Remember, art is not about perfection but about expression, exploration, and joy. We're here for you every step of the way. God bless you too, Gabrielle. Continue creating and sharing your unique perspective with the world. With love, Cinnamon and John
I feel like I am connecting spiritually with your acrylic teachings… The fact that you put these training sessions together for free, is from your heart and makes me spiritually so happy… I hope you know how blessed you are and will be, for sharing this artistic information and your God given talents!!!!
Finally after 5 years of watching you, I am gonna get serious. This series for beginners is just what I needed! Thank you so much for being you! And thank you John!
Thank you so much for covering accessibility and mobility needs! I appreciate that you did not assume that all those who are starting to paint are able bodied ❤️
Thanks so much for doing this course. I love not only how meticulous you are about details I never thought of but how kind and encouraging you are. I am so looking forward to getting started on painting, but first I am now excited about setting up a space. Painting on my tiny cramped dining table, flat and ill lit, just hasn't been working and now I know why.
I love that you created a whole section on accessibility! I believe art should be accessible for all, and I'm glad you do too. I really want to do detailed fur painting, and I'm so delighted the wrist bar exists so I can.
I keep reading your pet is going to get into your art supplies. My cat has not done any of that. She won't sit in my lap or come near the table while I'm painting. She will jump on the chair after I'm done and take a peek at what I'm working on inbetween layers or when it's done and give me looks like "You did that? Woooow." Then come over and cuddle with me in my recliner away from the painting table. Won't go on my art supply shelves, get in my boxes, try to get on the table and get to the work or the brushes. I am so happy to have such a well behaved kitty.
I have been so impressed with this video. You are practical, experienced but most of all you take the mystery out of painting and allow me time to focus on the creativity. Thanks so much from Canada
Just started painting a few months ago... I giggled throughout your 'set up your studio segment.' I'm a hermit with way too much space. Art supplies have covered my dinner table, there are stacks of beginner paintings everywhere, and I just set up an easel next to the window... I stand on what used to be my bathroom rug, because that's obviously a much more important use for it. I am amused at the idea of setting up a dedicated space inside an apartment that's basically already a dedicated space! I love your videos so far (1, 2, and 3) and maybe you can do one about "Tips for dealing with non-artist people's mixed reactions when you talk their ear off about painting as painting slowly consumes your life!"
I'm finally getting my art space set up the way I've wanted for years, and I'm so excited! Your tips in this video were super helpful for making sure I have everything I need. I'm planning to be ready for your Acrylic April course for the first time this year (2024.) I'm excited for that, too! One tip I wanted to pass along for anyone with brush-chewing fur babies: I have a pretty big collection of brushes in multiple stands and three of the cutest but most destructive cats I have ever known. I bought an inexpensive wire rabbit hutch--the type with a solid tray in the bottom and a garage-door style latched door that swings up and completely open for getting animals in and out, and I put my paint stands in there. It's not the most attractive thing ever, but it fits on top of the filing cabinet I have in my art space, I can still easily see and access all my brushes at once, and the cats can't get to them at all. Since the door latches (and you could put a padlock on it if you had to), it would work for keeping tiny fingers off of valuable brushes, as well. :)
Really enjoying this series. I love that you touched on the Adaptive supplies. Living with someone that has crippling arthritis in his hands, we are constantly looking for new ways for him to do things. So many of us are dealing with one thing or another. it's nice to know where to start looking. very helpful.

OMG you guys are awesome:)))) I tried learning watercolor painting but way to hard for someone how never painted who knew not me lol. So I sent for Arcylic paint from Amazon with all the extras so I could learn this. I found you guys and I am so glad I did cause you are a great team you teach in a fun way and that is how I love to learn. I recently retired and wanted to learn something fun I figure if I an bad at painting real looking things I could always do abstract LOL. just want to have some fun and love doing it and you 2 are GREAT thank you:))))
You are fabulous Cinnamon. Thank you for this program. I've been painting about 2 years and this is the first time I've heard about paint solids and the damage they can do. I'm thinking about buying an art table
Joining you late, watching the replay, I am really learning a lot, thank you so much. I am taking a beginning painting class at the local tech college and am also enjoying that but that teacher doesn't go over any of this stuff!!! I am going to do your whole course!!!
I am sooo excited about this course! Thank you for this. I did your Q tip lilac and dandelion tutorial in one day. I absolutely fell in love with your work and your channel. Can't wait for the rest of this course!
Can you please share a link for the lamp that you recommended? I found just one and it’s like $230. I was hoping maybe you have something less expensive in mind. Thanks.
I love your videos and I am watching your beginner painting vids on replay. About the age of paint. I used to dapple in acrylic paint when Terry Harrison was alive and bought many of his books and paint.....back in 2010. Yeah, I know a long time ago. Should I just chuck those and write off as a learning experience or should I try them out? Many of them are unique colors like naples yellow or sunlit green, etc.. They are heavy body acrylics and I've opened a few of them recently and yuk they were separated. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
39:38 I SCREAMED in joy like how I imagine Bashir screams when he sees Garak when you made a Tribble reference! I'll check the database, BUT I think it would be amazing to have a Tribble tutorial. 🖖😻
I don't have a house right now and am travelling around Australia love the box easel idea but also want to be able to set up an easel outdoors what would you recommend for this?
I know that you suggest using an easel, but I just cannot get on with them and I've tried two different ones. When i painted with watercolor I had my paper flat on the table and did fine with that. Would it be so bad if I painted flat, and perhaps got one of those lazy susans that you have to rotate my piece around so it's in the right position to paint? Setting up my desk that way would give me a lot more room too.
Easel painting is not always the right fit for every painter. A flat surface and a lazy susan will do just fine to make sure you dont hurt your back by moving your body in odd ways. Really its about having comfortable posture, standing up if your sitting at least once an hour and really make sure you are comfortable
Question about water disposal. How long does it take the paint solids to separate? And how long until they dry in the coffee filter? I have cups of dirty paint water everywhere now and am not sure where to keep them while waiting for them to separate!
@@TheArtSherpa Autumn here so drier inside and out. Using most hard body/liquitex paint. Not sure what else you need. I haven't seen it totally separate or dry on the coffee filter.
The cat litter solution is brilliant! Well, might could be an issue if you have a cat? Lol (obviously, designated acrylic litter in a out of reach place) Thanks for all the smart tips!!
Yes I have a bad habit of holding the canvas and looking down to look at my phone to watch your tutorials and I have started having neck and shoulder pain that I can’t get rid of bc I do it almost daily lol. I think my table is to highland chair to low. Going to have to fix that. Great videos

You are fabulous Cinnamon. Thank you for this program. I've been painting about 2 years and this is the first time I've heard about paint solids and the damage they can do. I'm thinking about buying an art table
Awesome, and thanks a lot 💛
Joining you late, watching the replay, I am really learning a lot, thank you so much. I am taking a beginning painting class at the local tech college and am also enjoying that but that teacher doesn't go over any of this stuff!!! I am going to do your whole course!!!
That’s awesome!
Great video; I’ve been painting for almost three years and picked up some great tips!
Great to hear!
I am sooo excited about this course! Thank you for this. I did your Q tip lilac and dandelion tutorial in one day. I absolutely fell in love with your work and your channel. Can't wait for the rest of this course!
Thanks a bunch 💜
Can you please share a link for the lamp that you recommended? I found just one and it’s like $230. I was hoping maybe you have something less expensive in mind. Thanks.
I am loving these videos so useful❤
Thank you soo much, you are wonderful 🌸
Thank you!
Thank you Ma'am❤ new informations were really helpful

Many thanks to you and John for these beginners tutorial
Totally our pleasure 💟
Lol. I did picture frame glass. I’ve started the classes
So much fantastic information!! THANK YOU!
You probably saved me. I just started using a pc of glass I got from a frame. 😮
I am going to set up my studio in my bedroom because I have a small apartment I just moved into. I am just a beginner so thanks for the help
You are most welcome 💝
Wow-weeee! What a great class, and your Q & A on Facebook was too AWESOME! Live demo!!! You guys are too much fun! Thank You for all you do!
It is our pleasure 🌼
I love your videos and I am watching your beginner painting vids on replay. About the age of paint. I used to dapple in acrylic paint when Terry Harrison was alive and bought many of his books and paint.....back in 2010. Yeah, I know a long time ago. Should I just chuck those and write off as a learning experience or should I try them out? Many of them are unique colors like naples yellow or sunlit green, etc.. They are heavy body acrylics and I've opened a few of them recently and yuk they were separated. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Acrylic paints last a long time. I wouldn't automatcially pitch any of them and would try them out first
39:38 I SCREAMED in joy like how I imagine Bashir screams when he sees Garak when you made a Tribble reference! I'll check the database, BUT I think it would be amazing to have a Tribble tutorial. 🖖😻
I will think about it …
So excited….Watching my first… How do you set up your home art studio!
I don't have a house right now and am travelling around Australia love the box easel idea but also want to be able to set up an easel outdoors what would you recommend for this?
Beyond words grateful
so much great information that I needed to know! thank you, thank you!
You are so welcome!💓
THANK YOU ! I am Disabled. This video is SO informative 👏
So glad! It was my honor to help!
Thank you for your hard work and sharing so much information!
My pleasure 😍
That depends on the paint, condition of your house, if its humid. I need more information
@@TheArtSherpa Autumn here so drier inside and out. Using most hard body/liquitex paint. Not sure what else you need. I haven't seen it totally separate or dry on the coffee filter.
Thank you so much very informative specially about disposing the water
My pleasure 💚
The cat litter solution is brilliant! Well, might could be an issue if you have a cat? Lol (obviously, designated acrylic litter in a out of reach place)
Thanks for all the smart tips!!
So glad to help!! And lol
Yes I have a bad habit of holding the canvas and looking down to look at my phone to watch your tutorials and I have started having neck and shoulder pain that I can’t get rid of bc I do it almost daily lol. I think my table is to highland chair to low. Going to have to fix that. Great videos
Yes, posture and having your table and such at a good height are very important. Perhaps get a phone stand as well as a desk top easel. 🌺
@@TheArtSherpa great idea about the phone !
Thanks for these classes. 1st time painter. Can’t wait for the other classes.
Good to hear, hope you enjoy and get what you need out the course 🧡
Thanks for sharing all this useful information. It is helping me make improvements to my space already!
That's great 🌺
I appreciate the info about the alcohol and baby wipes, thanks for the tips! Do you have aything specific for removing paint from acrylic nails?
Thats a tough one. Maybe try the alcohol, but be very careful 💞
HI this is so great...video..thank you so much gheartsherpa now i can set up my painting studio...thank you...
You are so welcome! 🌼
Sherpa can you give me your opinion on the Best Deluxe oak tabletop easel From Blick vs the convertible studio one you recommend from blick?
I am so glad I found your channel!
We are so glad too 💚
I used cottage cheese containers from the largest servings. I love Trader Joe’s & a glass mister. I bought a glass palat. It’s made just for painting.
thats awesome!
Nice tips on disposing of paint water. Now I'll make use of all the coffee filters I have, as I'm only an occasional coffee drinker.
Great use for them then 💟
Just replaced all my plumbing so this is good to know
happy to help!
I am following as I can, though a bit of delay from the live stream, I eagerly await the following videos!
Awesome, thank you! 💕
