Worked in Germany as a young man in the 70’s with several WWII veterans. None would speak much about the war. One was Sargent in the SS and still had his blood tattoo on his arm. Another was taken POW in Stalingrad while in the Air Force, like the guys in this vid. Apparently Luftwaffe troops were used as infantry, too. This guy wasn’t an aircrew, but ground support and wasn’t able to get on the last flights out. He was a prisoner from 1942 to 1951, rebuilding the same city as forced labor. All of these men were hard working laborers at barely minimum wage at an American air base. They all loved America, especially cowboy movies, still hated the Russians and just seemed genuinely happy with the simplest necessities.
I lived with WW II Nazi for almost three years in the Fulda Gap area in the '70's as a USAREUR NATO Tank Commander. East Front Nazi veterans would meet at the shooting club of Bad Orb. They were keenly interested in US morale. Curious as to whether the US ARMY would fight the Warsaw Pact after the debacle of Vietnam.
A STORY OF ALLIES ON PERVITIN: I gotta tell you all a story I heard first hand from a ww2 veteran son, his father fought in Italy by the Brazilian Expeditionary Force, along with 25k other brazilians and the US Army. His father was in the first wave to fight in Po River valley, 1945. His father and many others did use Pervitin during attacks or while in night patrols, obviously captured Pervitin from the germans, and this caused many psychological scars on them, most likely paranoia, things they carried years after the war and those scars killed them. His father was a strong farmer who left home his future wife, telling her "If I ever come back to Quatro Barras I will marry you and we will live together until the end", the war started and he went to the front. During attacks on italian villages and german positions allong the Po River Valley, I'm not sure but I think he also fought along the Gothic Line, these man attacked the germans absolutely mad deep on their pervitin, I heard "Dad said that all their blood and viscera was spitted along the walls as their .45 SMG fired, this caused so much damage on my father soul he used to dream and scream about doing attacks and house cleaning tactics", many times he said that his father cried about the horrors he saw and those he did, all the blood, all the explosions, all things you can imagine happened to these man. When the war ended and they came home, his father married his future mother, and they were living a peaceful life with their 4 kids until the shell shock like scars started to appear, his father beated the kids and his beloved wife, made them sleep outside the house during cold south brazilian nights, and it was already 1960 when the Army Hospital decided to take him to Rio de Janeiro hospital for treatment. Their life was destroyed, they lived deep in the woods and imagine starting a whole new life from zero because your father was too brain damaged he had to be moved to a psychiatric hospital, kids had to become man with 10yo. When the army came to their house to take him to the hospital, he attacked the soldiers in the ambulance with an axe screaming "THE GERMANS WONT GET ME THIS TIME!", his father spent 2 years in the Army Hospital and he got home cured. he lived 15 years after this and he died of stomach pain (he couldnt say what he had), his son told me he died because of the "german poison" they took during the war, but most likely he died of glass pieces inside his stomach because during paranoia attacks at home he did bite many glass cups, trying to kill that pain of the war, he killed himself slowly. The name of this Hero is Avelino Alves Pires, he lived in Quatro Barras, state of Paraná, Brazil.
A true subject I've never seen in any film. Most WWII films concentrate on the big picture but these micro moments, like some guy taking Pervitin, is not something you see. Great job and crew.

I struggle with methamphetamine addiction myself, this film is very well put together however meth withdrawals do not cause sickness, its just a super bad depression and fatigue that lasts months. The hallucinations meth can cause mainly happen in low light situations and I could definitely see this happening in real life.
Excellent mini-Movie, could have watched another hour. I would never have believed that hallucinations were even possible until one time a friend and I took a pile of ecstasy tabs and I was actually seeing things that did not exist, I was not scarred but rather amazed that the brain could do such a thing.

22:14 Interesting film! I’ve read and listen to hundreds of soldiers diaries (Stuka pilots, Panza crews and many soldiers fighting on the Eastern front) I have only heard one entry that I’m sure referred to Pervitin. A captain wrote in his diary he was suffering flu symptoms, the medic gave him a white tablet and an hour later his flu was cured.
@@Badvirtueproductions Thanks for posting the film. It’s the first time I’ve seen a short film referring to the effects of Pervitin addictions. It must have been a pleasant experience to go through the withdrawal effects (for long term addicts) if their supply was cut off. I can only imagine how many soldiers suffered psychotic violent episode and how many were hurt or killed!
I finally got to seeing this and LOVED it. Congratulations yet again. That helmet scene, wow, unforgettable. So keen to work on a project with you. Keep up the great quality work. How is the best way to keep in contact with you for your upcoming films?

*euphoria, increased concentration (low dose), increased tolerance to pain, decreased hunger, fatigue and fear, temporary reduced need for sleep, increased alertness... Lots of side effects you "forgot" to include 🤔
Amazing. I wonder how many times something like this played out during the war. It’s even said our pilots and soldiers had the edge on theirs because we used amphetamine powder instead of methylated amphetamines. Our guys could get some sleep after a day or two
Definitely worth pondering over. And you have to think a lot of the men who were affected by Pervitin died before they were ever allowed to tell the tale. Thanks for watching, we appreciate the support

Holy crap this blew my mind, I've always thought it was crazy Hitler gave us meth, methadone, the VW bug, magnetic tape, and his birthday is even 4/20. Is Pervitin where 'pervert' comes from lol Great movie, especially well conceived and written.
The one thing that I never understood about the German Army during WWII was that the German Air Force trained its troops to be ground troops. Why not just send them to regular army training centers.
May be Hoering wanted to be a victor not only in the air, but in the land too:) Or he just didn't want to give his manpower from Luftwaffe to other military branches.
Pervitin was a real thing (methamphetamine, I think) and you didn't need a prescription from you doctor in pre-WWII Germany or Britian. There was a US' PBS NOVA, I think, World War Speed, that talked about this. While taking Pharmacognosy, back in the day, our Prof noted that it was (at that time) a widely accepted opinion of many archeologists of the time that held that the Inca and others, because of their chewing of coca leaves had the alertness to build those wonderful stone buildings. By modern lights such materials are often seen as dangerous, but given the coca leaf chewer's evidence, the movie and history make a certain sort of sense.
In the pubs after the war at the bar would be a bowl full of Bex powder in little packages . It was common to have a Bex and chase it with a beer. Outlawed eventually. Grandfather served in the Durham light infantry. I worked with vets in the early 80's Death warmed up some of them.

@@MrBill1976 Hey Mr Bill, thanks for the sub and the kind words! We really appreciate it 🙌 stay tuned for more shorts 😎
Moral of the story; drugs are bad.
Second moral; don't watch Predator before going to war.
Pretty entertaining!👍👍👍
Loved the guitar at the end.
Hey Johan!
Love your Predator comment haha. Thanks for noticing the music, we had a great time writing and composing the music. We used a bunch of different guitars on that song :)
This is seriously very well done !
I especially like the incidental music/foley. It very much adds to the creepiness feel of the movie
Thanks so much mate! Really love to hear stuff like that! Make sure to subscribe to not miss out on future productions 🤟
Heinrich is terrifying! Great acting
He sure is!!! He’s going to be in a future movie we make, so make sure you subscribe, so you don’t miss it!!
I struggle with methamphetamine addiction myself, this film is very well put together however meth withdrawals do not cause sickness, its just a super bad depression and fatigue that lasts months. The hallucinations meth can cause mainly happen in low light situations and I could definitely see this happening in real life.
Big difference between street methamphetamine vs Pharmaceutical Methamphetamine.
Excellent mini-Movie, could have watched another hour.
I would never have believed that hallucinations were even possible until one time a friend and I took a pile of ecstasy tabs and I was actually seeing things that did not exist, I was not scarred but rather amazed that the brain could do such a thing.
Woah. That sounds pretty hectic 😳 Yeah, the brain is a fascinating thing. Thanks so much for the comment, maybe one day we could film a longer version 🤷
Great film. Thank you.
Thank you for watching! Love hearing you liked it! Make sure you subscribe Sebastian, we have lots of cool content coming out soon 😎
Brilliant effort from all concerned. Really enjoyable film.

I have always wanted to see a Fallschirmjäger movie! That would be sweet!!
My Grandfather was in the battle of the bulge he brought back 2 bottles of the stuff in 1977 I was 23 just for a laugh, he gave me one pill they were about the size of a alka seltzer tablet HOLY CRAP I was up for 2 days. The coming down was awful. He thought it was hilarious. RIP Grandpa.
Woah! That’s fascinating to hear. Sounds like some strong stuff. Thanks for sharing mate. Hope you enjoyed the film
You know there are so little war movies out there not the old but new done by other country's, not American or British but Russians or other. I don't watch other movies but war movies, because I relate to that time although I was not there but I understand the history.
Awesome to hear! Make sure to subscribe so you know when we have a new film out!
Krievi taisa propagandu, viņu filmas ar lieliem meliem! Pats esmu dienējis Padomju armijā, esmu daudz redzējis un dzirdējis..🤣

Very well done. Thanks for this guys!

Julian was actually my grandfather in real life, he made a great senator after the war
….
I went through alcohol withdrawal for 6 months. That was not fun at all. Doing that in the forest would be even worse.
I really enjoyed this short film. Where was it filmed? The landscape/trees etc looks like Australian bush.
Hey mate, really glad you like the movie. We’re from Australia, so it was filmed in QLD. In a little area called Millmerran.
I was thinking exactly the same 😂
@@Badvirtueproductions I thought it looked like the Aussie Bush....lived in New South Wales myself for several years 🙂🙂
Yeah I recognised a gum then some wattle,.
Been a while since I have so engrossed in a UA-cam video
@shooy47 wow! We love to hear that! Glad you found it entertaining 😎
Excellent ending! Very scary. I kinda thought that he was going to hell, but wasn't sure until you jump scared me. Good job! Sad, but that is where drugs take a person.
Hey Mark! Thanks so much for watching. Glad you liked the ending, that was our favourite part 🫡. We’ve got some really interesting stuff coming out soon, so make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss out 💪
22:14 Interesting film!
@@johnhenderson131 thanks for watching and sharing this insight. Appreciate it mate
Well done to all involved!!!
Thanks Kenny!
I finally got to seeing this and LOVED it. Congratulations yet again. That helmet scene, wow, unforgettable.
So keen to work on a project with you. Keep up the great quality work.

We seriously need more German focused WW2 films, The Wehrmacht would be a take of fresh air imo.
My gradfather fought from Sep.39 until May 45. His jouney went from France to Stalingrad, he told me, he had never seen any gramm of Pervitin, or Panzerschokolade. He said in the whole war he never saw a pice of chocolate. I believe in my grandpa.
Incredible work! I really enjoyed the film. Well done!

Love it, and thanks .Great acting and working .& More
Hey Frank! Thanks for the compliments! The team love to hear that ☺️ make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss out on upcoming productions 👌
Wow! Respect to everybody involved in this production. Speed has it's highs and lows 😢
Thanks Geoffrey. We had a blast making this one. We have a few more shorts coming out soon, make sure you sub so you don’t miss out on them 👌
Pervitin was the grandfather of Crystal Meth. It’s literally what made the Blitzkrieg.
Sure was. Thanks for watching
Very true!
You had to be high to follow orders of a lunatic. Of course many countries have lunatics giving orders. What happened to peace in a conversation Ala Vietnam War? Have they brainwashed millions into acting like crazed monkeys?
There is a great book called "Blitzed" by Norman Ohler which tells the story of Pervitin and Hitler's addiction to a selection of narcotics.
Thank s for sharing this video 👍
Thanks John! Appreciate you watching 😊
Thanks for posting,excellant short film.

Haha. 😂
That was pretty damn good!! Well done

Holy crap this blew my mind, I've always thought it was crazy Hitler gave us meth, methadone, the VW bug, magnetic tape, and his birthday is even 4/20. Is Pervitin where 'pervert' comes from lol
Great movie, especially well conceived and written.
Hahah. I never thought of it like that 😂 Thanks so much for the compliments mate.
Scary too.. Anybody in Germany at the time could just walk into a pharmacist and purchase over the counter...
Mind blowing hey?! Thanks for watching mate. Really appreciate it
The one thing that I never understood about the German Army during WWII was that the German Air Force trained its troops to be ground troops. Why not just send them to regular army training centers.
May be Hoering wanted to be a victor not only in the air, but in the land too:)
Or he just didn't want to give his manpower from Luftwaffe to other military branches.
I worked with vets in the early 80's
Death warmed up some of them.
A cup of tea, a Bex, and a good lie down
Outstanding

Drug withdrawal in an active war zone sounds like a whole other level of hell. 😢
If you understand that perivitin and metamphetamine is in fact alcohol you probably will understand everything about this movie. That is about us.
Uh, no - they’re very different - even if both can mess you up *bad.*
@@dennisyoung4631 different? Alcohol is liquid form of pervitin. And you noted common feature disclosing it is the same -they mess up your brain.
Huh😮?

Was this filmed in Australia?
Sure was, we live in QLD
Несмотря на короткий малобюджетный фильм получилось замечательно👍🏻
In the central european country I'm now in, pervitin is meth's street name, they somehow kept it as is from war time.
Fascinating. Thanks for watching
Até mesmo nas guerras atuais o uso de narcóticos é amplamente aceito. Um combatente que se torna dependente de tais substâncias torna-se um perigo em potencial para seus próprios companheiros na batalha.
