"Nazis" are Hollywood fiction. NSDAP Germany was a more prosperous place than we live in today and in reality, German soldiers were no different than any others.
@@classifiedsnake3947 Most Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS soldiers followed through with war-crimes (e.g. Großdeutschland-Division, Wiking, Das Reich, Einsatzgruppen, etc). Hey thanks so much for watching we really appreciate the support. We’re working on our next WW2 short film right now so make sure you subscribe to not miss it 💪
this actually blew me away, the cinematography is amazing, it actually has a thought out story, and the acting isn't half bad at all, the only thing I didn't love was the music, didn't really fit the movie, but otherwise amazing. Its legit a lot better then most WW2 short films on UA-cam, most of them don't really have a story or gripping script or characters, its just a bunch of dudes out in the woods shooting Germans and that's about it. This is really refreshing to see. keep at it, if you keep improving at the rate you are your going places.
Hey thanks so much for the comment LMG50. Love hearing the feedback, means a lot. We really wanted to try something different to everything else we’d seen on UA-cam regarding the WW2 short film genre. That’s why we went for a very pretty, saturated colour profile, and music that was more 80s inspired, as the films timeline technically never goes past 1988 😂 so we wanted to keep the music to that time point. But we really love hearing everyone’s subjective input as it helps us shape our future projects 👌🙂
@@poster5887 totally agree; everything’s subjective and just finishing a short film is hard enough. I’m amazed at some of the WW2 shorts I’ve seen on UA-cam and only wished I’d watched more before we started shooting Despair.
Nice work on the night shots, how you guys do those? Also nice job on sfx! I also like your choice of coordinating for the film. It was a nice contrast. Where did you guys film? Would be cool to collaborate possibly.
Hey Sintonizar! We love your stuff, so we really appreciate you watching. We filmed in three different locations in Queensland Australia, on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Tamborine Mountain. It was our first time doing any SFX but it was a lot of fun, we’d love to do more of it! Where are you guys based? Collaborating would be great, but we’re all stuck on this massive island called Australia, so it makes it hard 😂

Great short film the whole of the story was very well done and grounded to the era, I felt the look and style matched pretty close to what one would pictures WW2 on the german side at that time to be. The ending scene seemed to be a different tone than the rest but overall it was a well done engaging short film.

Did yall ask for a Reenactment group to help as some of the German actors? Very nice video. Well done and it had a nice story to it. I would suggest using a filter on your ww2 videos in the future. A more dull appearance may address the mood more effectively.
Hey mate. Thanks for watching. Yeah we used members of a 17th Kompanie SS reenactment group. And thanks for bringing up the filter, it was a conscious stylistic choice to have the colours as vibrant as possible. We wanted to portray it as a ‘spring’ film, and have the juxtaposition of the beauty of the location, with the horrors that were unfolding. We definitely thought long and hard about the colours of the film, and really appreciate the feedback. The next one we do will have a more somber look 👌😊
Great Story! You should do a corporation work with paralightwork (germans) They have years of experience and are currently creating very realistic short films. + they have access to a lot of old good looking uniforms.
Hey there mate! Yes we’ve definitely heard of them. They make fantastic stuff. We’re in Australia so it’s hard to collaborate with anyone in Europe, but never say never 😅. Our next WW2 short film will be coming out soon, make sure you sub to not miss out on it 🙂
Fantastic movie, which puts in perspective the ruthlessness of WW2. Shows how people, divided because of some powerful guys, have understanding for each other and despite all the suffer still seek for friendship and peace. Sadly, we still didn't fully distance ourselves from this time. In Ukraine is now repeating the same, soldiers kill each other knowing that they'll bring tears and pain for so much people. But they're forced, forced because Putin doesn't want democracy to expand and Zelensky wants to join NATO or whatever else - because of someone else's interests. The hierarchy is still there, it won't disappear. As George Orwell described it, hierarchy never disappeared it just changed its names throughout the history. Before it was a king, now it's a president. As if there's any difference. Exactly because of those self interest maniacs we're slowly marching towards WW3.

The locket s taken as a trophy. It is done in all wars. Remember at the time they were both engaged in trying to kill each other. The Luftwaffe pilot showing mercy to another flier, an enemy flier, wasn't surprising.
I think ya'll need to hire someone to make the special effects but this is a good short film with good acting and historical value with some of the best camera work I've seen compared to other ww2 short films, very cinematic
Thanks mate. Thanks for the kind words and for the feedback :) We did hire someone to do SFX however, we weren’t exactly thrilled with how they turned out. We had a small budget, but as our projects continue, we will definitely allocate more money to dedicated SFX. Thanks for watching and hope you can subscribe to see our next flick :)
a yellow jacket?? is he in the water? no....and yellow its a great target. During day time RAF mode of operation, was to say hide, and not running like a rabbit.

The WW 1 & 2 German Luftwaffe Pilots were known for their Chivalry and Honor. During WW2 there were many instances where German Fighter Pilots assisted Allied Airmen, both in the air and on the ground. If this RAF Pilot had been captured by the Waffen SS, his fate would most certainly have been much different.

Excellent film. Kudos to all involved. I did have two issues though. I really don't think the RAF pilot would stumble around the forest wearing a bright yellow life jacket. Way to easy to spot and should have ditched it immediately. Second, I saw no rank on his uniform only his pilot's wings.
Stay tuned for the next ww2 short mate. We’ve taken all the constructive criticism on board and are hoping to improve a lot 💪💪 make sure you subscribe to see our next film

Exceptional!!!
Oh thanks Eleni! Really glad to hear you liked it 🙂 make sure you subscribe to the channel to see when our next ww2 short is uploaded 🙂
this actually blew me away, the cinematography is amazing, it actually has a thought out story, and the acting isn't half bad at all, the only thing I didn't love was the music, didn't really fit the movie, but otherwise amazing.
There is no better short film people just do them differently.
@@poster5887 totally agree; everything’s subjective and just finishing a short film is hard enough. I’m amazed at some of the WW2 shorts I’ve seen on UA-cam and only wished I’d watched more before we started shooting Despair.
nah, its an art, so if you make a bad short film then its bad.
Still not sure what you mean by “bad” short films.
Супер фільми , дякую Вам
Thank you for watching 😊

@@Badvirtueproductions Sounds good. Good luck!

Thanks mate. Thanks for the kind words and for the feedback :)

A charming tale.
a yellow jacket?? is he in the water? no....and yellow its a great target. During day time RAF mode of operation, was to say hide, and not running like a rabbit.
Appreciate your feedback mate. We did the best we could with the resources we had. We have another WW2 film in production atm. We’d love you to subscribe to our channel to hear your feedback on that. Have a great weekend
👍👍👍🤞

Hey thanks so much for watching and the sub! We have a new WW2 short about to be released. Super excited to share it with everyone
Excellent film. Kudos to all involved. I did have two issues though. I really don't think the RAF pilot would stumble around the forest wearing a bright yellow life jacket. Way to easy to spot and should have ditched it immediately. Second, I saw no rank on his uniform only his pilot's wings.
One thing to improve on is recoil. Only thing that was sorta bad was the recoil. Just watch a few vids and you will be good.
Stay tuned for the next ww2 short mate. We’ve taken all the constructive criticism on board and are hoping to improve a lot 💪💪 make sure you subscribe to see our next film
