It's really encouraging seeing players who aren't afraid to talk about addiction. I've been through heroin addiction, thankfully got clean from that, but I still have an alcohol problem. It sucks because you have nobody to blame but yourself, and the answer to getting clean and sober is so simple, but also so difficult. It's tough looking back on what you used to be before your addiction. 8 years ago I was a corporal in the USMC, had a bright future and a good amount of savings. Then I messed it all up by chasing my addictions. It's never too late to turn things around though, and you don't have to believe in God to get a lot out of AA/NA. Even if you don't want to attend meetings there's plenty of places online to chat with people who are or have gone through the same thing. Obviously there's not a "one size fits all" cure for addiction, but I would definitely suggest reaching out to someone, whether it's in-person or online.
As a Raiders fan I agree don't hate the player dislike the team lol. But I really like Terrell Davis and Derrick Thomas. With the addition our teams made it should be an great season
Probably just a mistake. His body type looks like a Linebacker or Defensive End. Little did they know Linebackers and Defensive Ends have body types just like the Tight End Darren Waller. But yeah, that mistake for someone at nearly 100 receptions this past year is mildly embarrassing.
This story is unfortunately overlooked during the trials and tribulations of the 2021 Las Vegas Raiders season. Thank you for putting this together and shining a spotlight on a truly inspirational story. Darren Waller's friendship and personal struggle with addiction no doubt had an effect on Maxx in giving him a peer facing a similar battle. No one is alone. It is as much the play of The Raiders on the field as it is the leadership of men like Derek Carr, Maxx Crosby, Darren Waller and others who willed them into the playoffs. Thanks again Mike for the spotlight on Maxx. Well done!
