    The JJ Watt drafting really showed how toxic we as Football fans can be even after all the negative energy toward him he showed out like a badass on the field and like a proper gentleman to the state of Texas off the field.

    I love seeing the humble players that play the tough positions like in the trenches or full back, they are rarely hyped up as much as the skill positions but I see a lot more of them stick around than the others and I like watching them grow because they aren't pressured. I can't wait for the next jack Lambert or Kyle juszcyk

      Alec Ingold. Make sure you keep an eye on him next season especially. He was one of the Raiders captains on offense last season. The whole team had nothing but positive things to say about him. He is a bruiser in the blocking game is criminally underrated in the passing game. Which was the Raiders fault for not using him much because of the stacked weapons we already had. He was unfortunately let go because of the Raiders new regime in Josh McDaniels. He has , however signed with the Miami Dolphins. Who's current coach was a former offensive coordinator for the San Francisco forty niners. Who, as you know has utilized Kyle j the fullback u seem to like to the best of his abilities. so with that said it looks like Alec will be utilized the same and quite possibly might become as well known as Kyle. Which makes me happy because I know Alec is a hellavu FOOTBALL player n deserves the recognition even if he's not on my team anymore. I look forward to seeing how they use him.

      Kyle Juszczyk is recognized as one of the best all around fullbacks if not the best in the game today. He was a highly regarded receiving TE from Harvard. The problem is, he's not 6'4'' or taller which relegated him to the FB position. The problem isn't that he's not good. The problem is that the fullback is a dying position in this heavy passing current day game.

    There was this idea that Rodgers had a low ceiling. I’ve seen it before. Sometimes when a player is a productive, proven, winner, with very few visible flaws in college it actually hurts them. It’s like it creates this idea that they have already reached their potential because they are playing so well and have so few visible flaws. Whereas players with more blemishes on their record and flaws in their game are often considered to have a higher ceiling. It’s a pretty stupid way of thinking about players if you ask me but it’s pretty common.

    • @gamerk316
      @gamerk316 11 місяців тому +1

      Rodgers fell because he looked like another Jeff Tedford quarterback. He used to hold the football neck high, and had a long, robotic release. He needed to change his entire throwing motion, which is not typically what you want with a highly drafted QB.
      But thankfully for him, the Packers sat him multiple years and let him figure this out on the sideline, rather then on the field. Compare that to many rookies today, who get thrown to the wolves and discarded when they can't make the adjustment under pressure.
      I'll be clear: Rodgers would absolutely have bombed out of the NFL if he played day 1.

    The one thing I can take away from the J.J. Watt draft was that my brother jumped in the air and said "Hell yeah!" And when I asked him what made this guy so great and they played the highlight real, my brother just said "This dude is going to be incredible." Funny thing, he's not even a Texans fan, he's a Cowboys fan, but he is the only guy I know that liked the Watt pick.

Some guys get their money and after that don't care. But those who do and go above and beyond are usually great players. That's what no team can measure, the heart and fight inside.

    As a University of Utah alumnus, the minute I saw Alex Smith go first to SF I said, "oh shit they just ruined the best qb Utah ever had." Any Utah fan could have told you he should have been a late first or early second-rounder who went to a team with an established qb, so he could sit, learn a system, and develop more--like Aaron Rodgers got to do. I'm not saying Smith ever would have been as good as Rodgers, but I think Smith's later career, when he played on competent teams, with competent coaches, and competent ownership, showed that he could have had a much better career than he did. And I think that the career he actually did have was something of a miracle, considering that it didn't end in Ryan Leaf/Jamarcus Russell/Jared Goff abject failure as soon as his rookie contract expired. But that's what was great about Smith: he was a cool-headed competitor who was smart, knew how to adapt, didn't get rattled easily, and was able to use his brains to compensate for some of his physical shortcomings. I'll always wonder what he might have been. On the other hand, the dude also used his brains to wisely invest his millions of dollars, and today makes more in interest in a month than most people make in a year, so I guess he probably doesn't need my pity. At least I have two working legs though.

Bryan broaddus pointed out that most “media scouts” don’t have background access where they can evaluate a players work ethic and how much they love the game and only have access to film an pro day/ combine numbers. Players like Paxton lynch could’ve been great but he didn’t like football therefore he was out of the league in 2 years because he didn’t give a crap. Teams like the broncos and cowboys (who tried to trade up for him) should’ve had a better idea of that.

    Pro Bowls are not a very accurate determination of who's a good player or not. Popular maybe, but not who's the best player at a certain position. The pro bowl is pretty much seen as a joke by fans, players and even the lame media types.

Sounds like you need your ego checked at the front door bc you don’t win Super Bowls. Quarterbacks do, how this guy is able to give his opinion anymore is amazing

    I always thought that Paul Zimmerman was perpetually stuck in 1958. I mean, there's no denying his legend as a sports writer but, WHENEVER he talks about football, he's a blow hard for old school players...always downplayed modern day players and constantly espoused the offensive genius of some coach who's teams played on dirt lots with leather helmets 30 years prior to his given commentary. I don't know, he always drove me crazy.
