I am so hooked on this. With all the dodgy GW licenced games that have been thrown out on the market, how has this never been made before.
Its such an obvious idea it's almost genius.
I'm fairly certain that, given most of this game's advertising comes from a certain place on a certain website in a certain corner of the internet - wink-wink-nudge-nudge - that was legitimately part of the appeal.
Considering this is better than 95% of the trash GW games that get made as well
Hey, MonstersAbound/anyone interested in this game, fun tip I found out, if you hold x it shows the charge range for all your units, and if you hold c it shows the charge range for all the enemy units. Hope we get to see more of this!
On top of that, if you hold shift X/C, it shows you their ranged weapon range instead - although annoyingly without the short and long range bands... And also, in range heavy armies, it'd kinda hard to see if your selected unit can hit with all the overlapping telegraphs... But it still beats trying to eyeball it ^^

This is actually something I've been looking for for a while now: a video game turn-based Rank'n'Flank (preferably fantasy). Alternating Activations is just icing on the cake!

A Unit of Doomspawn trudged their way through the thick fog around them, the air reeked of rot and melancholy as they limped on. Their dark master, a powerful necromancer lord from the darklands, had fallen in battle against a legion of Woodelves in the area. Most of the necromancers legion crumbled the instant they fell, but somehow this unit managed to cling long enough to flee. But they were living off of borrowed time, as they knew if they didn’t find a new powerful mage to serve under their bodies would crumble too and their souls would be lost the inky black void. Clinging on to life by a string with no sign of salvation through this suffocating fog, they believed that all hope was lost.
Then the fog parted without warning, and before them was a goblin army. The Doomspawn froze in their tracks, they knew that they didn’t have the strength to flee or fight. For the first time in their undead existence, they were at the mercy of their enemy. They watched in silent horror as a massive T-rex approached them, and then confused when small goblin with a gnarled staff addressed them from the back of that mighty beast.
“Where did you gits run off too?”
The Doomspawn stood there in stunned silence, only broken by a single member of their unit who in his old life used to be a quick witted conman.
“We went to go take a piss boss.” He said plainly.
The Goblin shaman looked puzzled for a moment “All of you?”
Catching on to the former conmans’ plan, they all mumbled some story that backed up the conmans’ excuse.
With a tap of his staff on the side of his mounts, the beast and the goblin shamans army all began to march.
“We’ll get in line ya gits, I wanna squish those lizard people before nightfall!”
"Deyz still green."
"Dat moight be da rottin' flesh boss."
"Green iz green."
"...dey do smell betta."
All I can say is "Yoinketh" my good man. Was looking for a game just like this for ages.
