Great tips, thanks for sharing! At first it seems like these are very basic ideas, but they actually made me think a lot about my playing and how I think about improvisation. Thanks for the brief moment of epiphany Tim!
Thanks for the great video, Tim! I happen to be focusing on this right now in my own playing. For me, it’s a lot harder than it looks. I’m also checking out Jerry Bergonzi’s Melodic Rhythms book. Hal Crook also has an excellent play/rest approach in his book, “How to Improvise.”
Really great and important concept 👏🏼👏🏼 ty!
Wait for ideas! Wow, so simple! The opposite of crazy bebop lines. Thank you so much!
Ooh, I love the internal subtractive process, “patience,” and the distinction between listening to reverb tails vs active note envelope.
great lesson, thank you Tim 🙌
Great demonstration of a very important concept.
This is a great exercise for allowing intuition to flow and take center stage. Great lesson.
great points! love the idea of taking time to enjoy the decay of notes
Such an excellent lesson. Full of things many don’t stop to consider!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
