@@studioknit Well, I have made a happy start. My local yarn shop had a sale on aran wool so I am making a cosy blanket for my giant of a son. This pattern is perfect, because I have weak eyes, but on big needles with chunky wool I can feel where I'm at. The textured pattern is definitely revealing itself. I'm now wishing I'd got more wool!
Hi!! I am currently knitting this blanket in the Throw size and I wanted to say that the Cast On amount should be 130 stitches to get the full repeat. 128 stitches doesn't complete the full pattern. It took me couple days tinkering with it to figure out where I went wrong in my cast on, but I figured it out and using 130 stitches gives me the full pattern repeat!! I am excited to see how it turns out!!
This really is such an easy, beginner-friendly design and it’s so beautiful! I’m having so much fun with this project. Thank you for this pattern and video! ❤️
I just had to showcase your gorgeous blanket tutorial in my post '31 Quick and Easy Knitting Projects for Beginners.' It's so beginner-friendly, and your passion for knitting shines through! Thanks for making this video.
This is a lovely pattern. I was looking for an attractive, but reasonably easy to knit bkanket as I'm not too confident. This looks to fit the bill. Thank you for posting. I like the soft green colour too 😊
Thank you for this clear explanation and demonstration! I really like this pattern and am searching for something to make for my guest room, in case a visitor would like a little extra warmth at night. I think I just found the right project.
I want to make two baby blankets for my friend’s twin granddaughters. This will be a pretty blanket! I really like the border! Thank you for sharing this!
Hello and great to see and hear your tutorials;they are always sooo clear and precise!!❣️please continue to post new exciting projects;this one particularly is fun and fantastic due to the chart you’ve added for various sizes!!!great help Great help !!!THANK YOU🙏🏼🙌
What is you favorite wood needles? Want to to get a set of wood exchangeable needles. I know they are making the lateen moon needles again. If you have a recommendation for a set of wood exchangeable needles would help. Thanks
I have medium weight yarn #4. Should I just use smaller needles? (What size) and if I’m making a baby blanket size should I be casting on more? And what increments should I cast on the extra stitches? (By two’s or fours?) this is beautiful and I can’t wait to start tomorrow morning for my 7 hour flight!
Thank you for posting this video. I'm planning to make this in the baby blanket size. Can you tell me how long the knitting needles should be for that blanket size. I know it needs to be 10 US but should it go down from 36 inches since the blanket will be smaller?
Thank you for the tutorial...so pretty. I have a question; can you do color changes (easily) with this pattern? For example, I would like to make a striped blanket using five colors. If so, should I do odd or even number of rows to make the color change the same on the right side? Thank you for any help you can provide.
Hello Kristen! How are you? I started to make the Moss Landing blanket! It's going well so far. I was just wondering if you have any patterns for a triangle shawl or wrap? I love your tutorials because you give instructions very well, and easy to understand. Thanks for your help.
This is a gorgeous pattern, thank you for the helpful video! I was wondering whether it'd be possible to make the border using different coloured yarn? How would that work?

Hi! I am new to knitting. Currently, I am working on a scarf in basketweave. I am wondering if Acrylic yarn is ok to use for blankets. Thank you! Love this video!
I want to try this pattern but I'm having a heck of a time finding a circular needle 36 inches in size 10 US. I have found a sz 10 US but cannot find a 36 inch or bigger. I have searched Amazon Canada and Michaels Canada but no luck. I am a beginner so feel I should start out with the correct size. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Hello, I just bought this pattern last night, can't wait to start it. I just don't understand how much yarn to buy . I understand you have it it in ounces but I just don't know how much to get :( Help please
With long needles for a baby blanket maybe? You need to be able to fit them all on the one needle. Circular needles are a lot easier for this sort of project.
Oh man i would really like to knit this but i am really battling with circular needles..i have tried starting 4x and its just not working. Plus i need a much bigger size blanket.. I suppose there is no way i can knit this on straight needles, pity i love it so😢
Beautiful blanket pattern...thank you so much..going to knit this one..do you think Pound of Love yarn would work..size 10 needles...thank you appreciate your reply..

Is circular knitting needles easier than knitting looms
Could this blanket be knit with #4 weight??
Has anyone knitted this pattern using their scrap yarn? I have so much to use up…considering using this pattern to use all my random yarns for.
I have size 10, knitted on 108 is this ok?
Hi I have lost count and maybe picked up stitches .....if u start on knit 2 do u end on knit 2 ? Hope that makes sense
No matter the width, do you always cast on an even number of stitches?
can i do it with stray needles?
What about a marker?
Hi my name is Shaleen Lyons I'm Knitting with thin wool it is OK to use

Look at the yardage required for the size you want. Then look at the yarn label for the yardage. PATTERN YARDAGE / YARN YARDAGE = NUMBER OF BALLS
Can I knit this on straight needles?

What guage do you suggest?
I'm using chunky #5 size yarn.
Gauge: 16 stitches and 20 rows = 4 inches in Double Moss Pattern
Rows 1 & 2: * K2, P2 *
Rows 3 & 4: * P2, K2 *
@@studioknit Thank you.
@@studioknit thank you.
I have a question instead of using 5 could i use 2 strands of 4 ?
Certainly! It will just be smaller unless you add stitches and rows.

Ha, that would be something!

Cast On 312 Stitches
Knit 700 Rows
Yarn Amount 8,136 yds
Can you still buy the pattern
Certainly! studioknit.shop/products/moss-landing-blanket
ugh....how did i do this, i just realized that i have a big round...thing! :/ can anyone tell me how on earth ive went wrong??
I think you knit in the round instead of turning your project

Beautiful blanket pattern...thank you so much..going to knit this one..do you think Pound of Love yarn would work..size 10 needles...thank you appreciate your reply..
It's a worsted weight yarn. So, either use size 8 US and it will knit up smaller, or double the yarn strands and knit with 10 US. Enjoy!
