These cars sound great with literally just a straight pipe if you’re on a budget. Anything is better than silence, the 3v is arguably the best sounding motor Ford has ever dropped in a mustang
Big time agreed on the sound of these motors, they sound so good! And honestly if they do sound good with a straight pipe maybe I'll do that just to get to the next event, I'd like to do a custom exhaust one day though!
@@LooseFab definitely a lot easier and cheaper! A nice, well put together exhaust is always gonna sound best but it is genuinely hard to make these cars sound bad
Thanks dude! It definitely didn't do it justice on camera but this thing feels so dang fast, especially compared to the 86 lol. And of course first lap dirt dropping so hard that I blew the tire off the bead lmao, I was so stressed I'd be booted off the track
BBK long tube headers, straight pipe and flowmaster resonator is what I have on my 03 mustang and its loud but not the obnoxious loud and it sounds good. I would definitely recommend
Dang okay I'll look into that, thatnks for the idea! I don't want it too loud just loud enough to hear the car y'know? I may even try making a custom stainless exhaust for it..
Thanks dude! It was honestly my least favourite colour when I bought it, but it was too good of a deal to pass up. But it's really started to grow on me, and since putting the white wheels on I've really started to love it!
Thank you! It was a ton of work to make it to this weekend but man oh man was it ever a blast driving the car! I had a riot. And the next event is so soon, I can't wait!
I have the tools to make a sick stainless exhaust now.. Maybe I should! Trying to think of a way to keep it fitting for the mustang but still have some drift style to it🤔
Yeah the car color will look really good with a ducktail spoiler and MMD chin splitter would absolutely love to see you do a make over on the car maybe a super clean too? With some high end products video like clay bar, polishing, and then using avalon king ceramic,or turtle wax sealent Just to give the car a beautiful clean look after all its one of if not the best looking Mustang GT ever made ;) As for exhaust make the diameter 3.0 or 3.5 maybe just to free up some more power the stock diameter of the pipes is 2.5 very restrictive no mufflers and as for cats i dont know as for exhaust headers man idk what to say i dont want to push you above your budget cause its 800$ for BBK long tube headers but something i can surely recommend is a bama x4 tuner and a JLT cold air intake makes good power always
@@LooseFabas for the headers its worth it but like i said i dont wanna push you over budget but they sound amazing and give more power another good upgrade is the ford performance one piece aluminium driveshaft its much much more lighter than the stock rusted one and frees up more power
Can’t wait to get mine out to the track! Just got coilovers on it, it has about 360whp with stage 3 cam, Ford racing intake, stage 2 clutch, tr6060, etc -/ it had Nitrous but I removed it. Love the video!!
@@LooseFab it sounds really good, and loud lol I have built other s197s for grip with SCCA but this one in particular is 100% for drift and I can’t wait! The drift scene had changed ALOT since then and I haven’t done any drifting in like 15 years, looking forward to some beginner days to re-learn everything again
@@88e303stanggt that's sick man you won't be disappointed! I came from an ae86 and this mustang is light years easier to drift than that car was. You'll have a blast with yours! Take the rack limiters out if you haven't already

@@LooseFab My current exhaust setup is BBK Long tubes, x pipe, Borla S-type and it sounds amazing. It screams up in the RPM but if you're not looking for it to be too loud then I'd skip on the long tubes (also just avoid BBK exhaust, it likes to rust pretty fast)
@@LooseFab Dont get me wrong I love them, but it's really just the rust. It's not much but it starting to like 2 years after isn't the best. But long tubes on the 3v are not fun lol. I don't remember much from the install but I do remember having to raise the engine a bit and disconnecting the steering shaft.
Great video! Absolutely loving this! As a 3v owner, seeing a stock 3v ripping makes me so happy! These are the underdog mustangs lol. Do you remember what gear you were in when drifting?
Thanks dude, I appreciate it! I see the 3v getting flak online but it's hard to believe, these things have some grunt to them! It felt so fast out there. I was in second gear for most of this track, I am taking it to a bigger track in a few weeks so I might give 3rd a try!
@@LooseFab That's awesome! My 09 has a 3.31 rear gear, and I can go to 85mph in second, 2nd and 3rd has great torque on these 3Vs. The powerband on them in 3200-6400+ so keep that in mind🤙🤙
@@dean_4.6 I believe mine has a 3.55, I know a lot of guys jump to a 4.10 but I think that might be too short for where I drive.. 3.73 might be nice but not sure if it would be worth the upgrade from my gear!
Always thought these things would be cool drift cars. They are getting close to the sweet spot price wise and have a ton of parts for them. I can’t tell if it’s the camera angles but it looks like there could be some improvement made to your caster. It looks like you are leading the wheel a lot to correct. If you can mess with caster and get it to fully self steer that’s the sweet spot. Along some left foot baking to transition and pull down speed is mint for tight corners.
I definitely agree! People love or hate the body style but I love them, and hard to beat for the price! v8 power without having to pay the coyote tax. and like you said, parts are cheap and plentiful! You're definitely right about leading the wheel, apparently these cars are notorious for having little to no self steering (something to do with the rack). I have the caster maxed out with the fdf plates right now. I've been trying to get the hang of left foot braking and how to use the handbrake but there is definitely a learning curve to it! Thanks for the advice and thanks for watching dude!
@@LooseFab interesting, did not realize the chassis was prone to low self steer. I’m sure the boys at FDF will figure something out eventually for them. Josiah is a madman. Gosh that makes me want to ditch the twenties and actually go to the track
Do it! It's the most fun you can have! Even try out some autox, might be able to do it with your 20s and super low risk, easy way to try it out!
