One of the best drivers in the world when it comes to hopping in absolutely any car and being able to link a track first run out, so definitely says a lot about the car
Luke’s a nasty driver too, big Jim throwin it down towards the end for sure. Big soft tire on the front and a few more little tweaks and he’ll be solid
I had an IRP shifter in my E46 driftcar, and I had a lot of issues shifting with it, also going into third. Even the stock shifter with a short shifter shifted way better. I just find the throw on the IRP way too short. I now use a coolerworx in my trackcar E46, which has 3 settings in length of throw, and on the longest throw it shifts super.
I don’t think it’s the shifter. He’s used to shifting by pushing away and forward, being used to LHD. He just needs more seat time to make it second nature
That was Tony Angelo standing on the track with Chris. In the beginning after Jimmy first lap. He can show you a thing or 2. Love how Luke jumped in to help. Luke Fink is a hella of a great dude. He always willing to help anyone.
Car looks sick, you drove amazing for hopping in it and it being RHD too. I'd get the alignment dialed which should help you get some more confidence in the car. It looks like a bit of a handful compared to the S13 or the Z and I can tell there's some frustration because of that. Keep at it Jimmy you'll get this thing ripping in no time. Props to the guys for the work they put in on the car and the split screen edits are sick👌
Spoon was the best upgrade to the content and the garage and the boys. He's being going hammmmm on the builds. Keep it up brothers 💯 loving the content
It might be a little overkill, but maybe look into a Winter's quick change differential. Also, the car looks amazing! It just needs an Oakes livery for the cherry on top!
1st send + RHD + sketchy front tires + patchy wet track + alignment + Luke test = Jimmie actually rocked it while learning! Wondering if the SLR kit has "recommended" initial alignment settings for the BMW, and what kind of front tire he'll possibly go to. Watching the video when that bolt let go in slow-mo is crazy! I'm actually amassed that it didn't implode. Like Jimmie said... "Beef" is good.
Couldn't actually have had better scenario than have Luke Fink there. From what I've seen is that Jimmy is to gentle with it (because Jimmy cares a lot about his cars of course) but he need to be more aggressive like Fink is even though the car really is a handful. Super stoked to see all the massive progress being made!
Hey Austin just a little editing tip if you want to take it. When you over lap the two videos of the car from the outside and the video from the car inside use the Audio from the inside of the car not the outside bc then it distorts the video. You can put both videos together but mute and or lower the audio so that the inside audio is the main audio
Chris Knapp is the man, helped me so much struggle through learning doughnuts and figure 8s last month my my e36! On the FD track none the less, it was just doughnuts but it felt cool af to be on an Formal drift track
Dang Jimmy, I get that your a celeb and all but how awesome is it that your calling Chelsea for pointers and having Luke Fink himself driving your car and giving pointers. Not to mention you hung out with James Dean a couple weeks ago. So stoked to see where your at with all this. Exciting stuff bud. ✌️
Grab your shifter and hold it before changing from 2 to 3. You just give it a general push in the direction and miss a lot. Hold it and direct the push better.
@@SlaterGator yes and thats the issue. Dont give it a push in the right direction. Control the shifter more. Looks at how pro drivers change. Tons of vids.
You guys built a sick car!! 🚗 Jimmy I think your gonna improve leaps n bounds with that machine. The Zs good an all but it's like cruise control. This things a rocketship and u gotta figure it out..pumped for ya.
I would play with your vanos rpm crossover point to get some more low end torque/drivability out of it. Do a dyno run with and without vanos and see where the torque overlap is on the two graphs. That's your ideal vanos engagement rpm
@@Bacon676 Don't I know it 🥺. If only I wasn't paying $9.99 for some girls only fans I could afford their Patreon 💀. I'm joking I can't afford neither 🤡.
i understand it's frustrating and ur fighting against a lot of things but u got it in the bag u have all the references with Luke the fearless attacker and Chelsea who has a decade of bmw studies you really are killing it to be able to switch directions with a car so quick and just tossing it all together quick its so good and also im excited your taking driving more seriously
You forgot to put the links for East Coast Drift School in the desc!! Love this damn car, you've been driving alot more lately, and your progression has been dope to see. Keep killin it dude!
so pumped to see this. As soon as I saw the video up I didnt even think twice about it BOOM. Couldnt wait to see this. You did great Jimmy, give yourself a break. Youll be a master in no time. Just need some seat time. And a front lip on the e36

Rad to see the 36 out ripping, always going to have teething issues with a fresh build! If you get some better rubber all round and sort the lag a little I’m sure it’ll be a ripper, look forward to seeing more testing 👊🏼
It's gotta be in the alignment, tires, and coilover settings. E36 and E46 are super tight and grippy when done right, so yours will get ther too, Jimbo
Usually dont like the helmet chin GoPro angle but i really enjoyed watching this, maybe coz jimmys so tall you dont get the awkward 30% track and 70% interior view...anways this car is so sick and sounds hella Rowdy!
So stoked for this car my dude! Can’t wait till it’s kinks are worked out, and you can just rip it! Luke is tha man! The before and after difference was just crazy!
The fact that Luke even struggled shows that the car is definitely a handful to drive!
Yup n luke can drive wow .

This.... rtd or cae seems better. Cae has adjustments for the gates
@@drewdavis239 yeah the coolerworx is just a cheaper replica of the CAE, and it's super.
CAE is the move, IRP caused me issues in my E46 too. They’re not bad for casual driving but in a fast/bang shift environment definitely not the vibe
I don’t think it’s the shifter. He’s used to shifting by pushing away and forward, being used to LHD. He just needs more seat time to make it second nature

crazy watching jimmy back in highschool then 4 years later here i am still watching him but on the clock
Not too many people think to jack up the rear and let the rear diff oil warm up
