- In our test we revealed that the BYD Seal AWD wasn't all-wheel drive. BYD acted quickly, engineers visiting us looked at the test cars and have come with a solution. BYD Seal AWD will soon receive an updated software.

Imagine Mercedes engineers taking critique that humbly and pragmatically from you guys (A-Klasse Mk1/Vältklasse). That’s the East Asian way.👌
Will they come for my car and update it?
Do you want a heavily understeer car like thr model 3 duel motor?
@@user-jh6vt8vx4v Your "heavily understeer" is too heavy for Tesla, it is not such a big problem.
@@user-jh6vt8vx4vwtf are u talking about. model 3 dual motors are known to be tail happy if u step on it.
Nvm read your other comments. clueless
Yes over the air the next update that has been released

So the fix was a hastly compiled piece of code just to satisfy this one scenerio? Or was the itac system completely revised with new parameters for all driving scenerios in all driving modes, with and wirhout esc, with and without winter mode?
It might just go to the dyn mode. Though I doubt it. I hope that is the case
hello does it always have 4 wheel drive now ? or is it stille possible for the car to turn off the engine in front to use less power while cruising ?
Does the 4wd work in reverse now?
same question
Let's see how long it will take to BYD release the update here in Brazil...

IS IT A OTA UPDATE?
USB UPDATE?
ODB UPDATE? NUMBER of the update? is it going to be released by byd for all seals?
Yes, OTA coming. There's a link in the description for more information.
@@teknikensvarldI had test drive BYD seal, I feel a quite uncomfortable vibration on the steering wheel especially when passing quite rough asphalts road, feels like not enough cushion on the front axle, do you feel it too ?
@@teknikensvarld Does the 4wd work in reverse now?
Rs232 hidden behind exhaust pipe, above dpf
So if i buy the RWD version, will it be AWD?
Then it would NWD 😅
If your question is serious, then the answer is no, because RWD versions don't have a motor at the front.
a $15,000 awd vehicle can do that but maybe not one wheel traction. One wheel/tire traction test?
That's a joke, right? Who sells a car with a feature that only works if the manufacturer sends a "fix"?
BMW and Tesla will hold many features hidden in their cars and only enabled when they choose to, that's just the sh¡tification of modern cars.
The automotive industry is becoming a joke. In the past we had proper engineers, nowadays it's all tech and marketing guys. BYD is probably copying BMW's idea: you get AWD if you pay a fee monthly.
You're kidding right? Tesla has been doing that since day 1.
Day 1 updates have moved from the gaming world into the automotive industry. Joy of joys.
You must be quite young, aren't you?
I remember Windows from the early 1990s! This is a very old "trick"in the so called hightech field... 😆😆😆
The so-called customers pay for the ability to take part in the tests of the products, and this is a lifetime partnership.
What is happening!
wow, gak bahaya ta?
Mungkin tidak bahaya tapi kalau bayar untuk dapat AWD dan ternyata tidak... kenapa bisa gitu ya. Salam dari Swedia
BYD must be joking here, do they not have any QA at all?
From Microsoft to Tesla, many fixers were despatched over the years to correct, update or refine their products. BYD is no different.
Mercedes, Toyota etc likewise have had numerous recalls over the years too.
👋👋
It’s scary when such a basic system wasn’t tested before sale; it’s terrifying to think about what safety systems were compromised…until you need them.
Tesla when released AWD Cybertruck, it was also working in 2WD only. And they told customers that AWD will come later with an update.
Apparently AWD in electric cars is a complex software problem. So when they need to hurry things they might skip some things that they think are not critical.
@@markmd9it works in a manner like EMU on the train. But need to midigate the understeer problem like most awd or 4wd ice car. So the duel motor variant EV might need to program the front motor start providing power when certain condition is met. Likely above certain speed. So, you won see it working at stand still. Just like the X drive system does, or more close to the AWD hybrid system. My 2016 fwd base hybrid system on highlander has a opposite behavior. The rear motor only works below 20km/h. And wont work above that speed unless the front wheel experience abonormal deceleration such as hydro plating.
@@user-jh6vt8vx4v - no awd from stand still defeats the purpose for awd for most people

Thats not really an satisfying solution. to sent some chinese ppl to sweden and fix the car in person . How wonder how many faulty seals are there
Totally agree. There is a reason why Chinese products are cheaper.
Then how should a company treat the issue? Just fix in the office and immediatly send the OTA without testing if it is work in the same position? I personally prefer the engineers test first and then send the OTA update.
@@imharbinger😂😂😂😂, your comment makes me laugh
NIO forever❤
Not in Denmark it seems…🤣
Geek car.
Form this point onward this car will understeer like a pig. Screw you guys!
