    My husband always had good cholesterol numbers and then discovered (while on the Standard American Diet) with a CAC test, that he had LAD blockage estimated at 40%. We always exercised and ate our fruits and vegetables.
    My husband and I looked at one another and had to laugh when your doctor said, “remember that on the Internet things that you read, there’s somebody behind it that has an interest in something and typically it’s your money” - Like Big Pharma maybe?
    Oh and “Research that’s been manipulated” - Like the Harvard researchers who took $$$$ bribes from the sugar industry. Same researchers who told us sugar and fat-free is good? The chemicals sprayed on veggies and fruits are not worth the risk to ingest.
    My husband and I are both carnivore now and love the ease of shopping, cooking and clean-up.

      My last cholesterol test went up to 311. It has been in the 220 to 240 range. New test results from Quest laboratories said that I need to be genetically tested for Hypercholesterolemia. At the same time. I received an update from Sequencing (dna testing company) that I had a new variant for Hypercholesterolemia. In the last 20 years I have had 5 coronary calcium scans with a 0 (zero) score. Previously my internist has said I don't need statins because of my coronary calcium score of zero. I had an advanced lipid test that shows the number and size of both hfl and ldl. It appears that I have what I call

I am not lean like you but it would be my luck. I am hopeful you get answers and I can learn from your experiences . thanks for posting. I subscribed. hoping for the best for you both. Carnivore has me feeling great also and I love your common sense approach- if you feel better, you may not have to worry about the LDL in the long run. I agree with you both. no signs of ANYTHING BAD is a good thing IMO. cheers!

      We ate hypercarnivorously for millions of years; we are genetically nearly identical. Why can't we do well on a meat only diet? Where's the evidence? We are the only species in nature who eats a diet incompatible with their physiology. All the other animals instinctively know what to eat, but we are silly enough to think we don't have such a diet.

    I'm 81 and been carnivore for three years. I also seem to be lean mass hyper responder. I can't eat egg whites, anything smoked, anything aged or even leftovers. Any time I've tried to add in either berries, cabbage, green beans I end up with joint and muscle and body pain. Then it takes me about a month to get rid of it again sooo I've decided to just keep on carnivore and I think I need to increase the fat. Thoroughly enjoying your channel. You keep it so interesting and relevant. Thanks for all you do.

    Listen, I have had three stents put in AND a triple bypass surgery. I am not a nut heh heh just my word. Before each surgery and each heart attack I had been to my cardiologist two or three weeks and been run through tests…all my blood work came back normal… my stress tests on treadmill with nuclear dye were normal…my exams were normal. I finally asked my doctors if the tests could not predict a heart attack what could? So take testing with a caveat. More research needs to be done. Doctors can be all over the place regarding cholesterol and other factors. Eggs good or bad etc. People need to stay informed and make educated decisions. You guys do that.

    • @Majesticpsychology
      @Majesticpsychology 7 місяців тому +2

      My husband’s bloodwork was always pretty good with total cholesterol just a tad bit high, hdl over 50, crp almost zero, passed the stress test with flying colors just 2 weeks prior to getting a heart attack with 3 99% blocked arteries. So I believe these tests really tell you nothing. There is a lady I saw on youtube who did an angiogram without needing to (overseas) to get a firsthand look at her arteries - i think shes in her 60s or late 50s and had no blockages. She was eating on the lean side like chicken breast, veggies, fruits etc and then started doing carnivore or wanting to do carnivore. So its all really unknown other than that we feel good on the carnivore diet and ppl’s illnesses disappear. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I do zero carb most of the time, but I do cycle through some carbs now and then. Have no idea what my cholesterol level is. Just enjoy feeling better. She said “all” people have a varied diet and that’s actually not true. There are whole communities in other countries who have diets that are high protein high fat without many to no vegetables. And the studies about them show they have high “bad” cholesterol and low “good” cholesterol. The studies also show that these communities don’t have any cancer or diabetes or some other things we have in people with actual varied diets. So I always take doctors opinions with a grain of salt, because they don’t know everything -only what they’ve been taught, read, and also have opinions on. You have doctors who are totally against carnivore, who only know what they’ve been taught which includes the food pyramid and nutritional information that was highly influenced by big business (the food, sugar, and pharmaceutical industries). And then you have doctors that don’t know much about it, but are open to it. The. You have doctors who not only embrace it, but practice it themselves. At the end of the day, the only thing you can rely on is how you feel and how your health is.

    • @hannakinn
      @hannakinn 7 місяців тому +1

      What communities are these? I know that some Eskimo people used to rely primarily on fish, whale, blubber and grazing animal meat for large portions of the year but in spring and summer they added berries and foraged greens, veggies etc. to their diets. Most communities of humans thar don't necessarily farm are still groups of hunter gatherers. I'd be interested in reading about communities that rely solely on meat, fish, poultry and fats as their sole diet because I find the subject to be very fascinating. There is that one African tribe that raise cattle and pierce their necks and use the blood they let mixed with milk as their main source of protein. That allows the cows to live and tge people to have cows milk and a meal of milk and blood to sustain the people. If a cow has to be killed or for certain important ceremonies they will kill a cow and eat the meat, they feed the cow and bleed it before slaughter and they consider the partially digested grains and grasses from the cows stomachs to be really special food. That tribe will eat some foraged foods though and some food products they've traded for. I found it so interesting how they kept the cows alive but bled them for the protein due to it not being easy to afford or keep many cows in the areas they live. I can't remember the name of the people at the moment, so annoying.

      @phantagirlable Місяць тому

      These are communities that have been on those diets for many generations, sometimes even centuries. Europeans for example have developed the ability to digest milk while other ethnicities can't. Our bodies can genetically adjust to certain diets in the cause of many generations. That is very different from a healthy person going on an extreme diet that is not common within that ethnicity at all for the past, say, several millennia.

    If you don’t have any metabolic issues … there’s nothing wrong with vegetables like green beans, winter squashes, bitter melon, avocados (all happen to be technically fruits) not for fiber, but for stabilizing gut microbiome. I’m not well versed but I’m learning about how an altered gut microbiome can affect hypercholesterolemia and coronary artery disease.. and I’m reevaluating the way ive been thinking about diet. What’s more important to me is not to fit into a way of eating for reasons of fitting in just because other ppl are having success (seemingly) with it. But rather, use carnivore as an elimination diet to improve the gut/ digestion and start re incorporating variety of foods to support diverse micro biome. That’s where I’m am. Your cholesterol number is alarming! Perhaps to be safe, don’t take it lightly. ❤

    I'm curious if you folks consulted with your physician before embarking on your carnivore diet? It's so extreme. I agree with your doctor that humans have been eating a combination of foods for their overall health. Good luck with the cardiologist. I believe extremes of any kind can potentially be dangerous or at least, concerning.

      Carnivore diet is the closest thing we have to how humans ate throughout most of history, you know before all these modern diseases we have now.
      You have to realize that none of the fruits and vegetables you are buying in a grocery store are anything like their wild counterparts. Go look at what we have done to fruits like bananas, and this goes for all produce. Not to mention how much pesticides (hello round up) is in all produce, THAT is risky. If any one is doing something extreme it's the people eating all these new foods that we've only introduced in the last hundred years. Most people are eating tons of processed garbage that is even worse, but even these "healthy fruits and vegetables" did not exist in their current form until very recently.

My doc called me in a panic stating “your arteries are clogging as we speak”….my total cholesterol was 302 and ldl 204. I refused statins and told her not to worry, told her about LMHR, and said we could check the numbers again soon.. I’m not totally carnivore but eat very low carb to battle pancreogenic diabetes and autoimmune issues. To calm the good doctor I started taking a plant sterol supplement. Just a few months later my total cholesterol was 227 and ldl was about 150. I did not get a call from her…..hope she’s happy.

It's a fairly common genetic disorder of excess iron deposition which in turn can raise lipids. 1 in 300 ppl with 2 Parents of Northern European decent carry a gene which causes Iron overload. An iron overload will in turn raise lipids. Being on a super iron enriched diet makes me think this is the cause. My sister just got her results today and we were shocked to hear she's in that 1-in 300 which means I most likey am as well and never had a clue! This could explain our extremely high numbers. It's a simple test you should do to rule this out. Prayers, keep us posted!

    Note that people in the arctic have been eating carnivore for thousands of years. There isn't too much data about how well they are doing on such a diet though. All we know is that their cultures survived.
    Note that high cholesterol is associated with the ability to reach a high age. Centennials generally have been recorded to have higher cholesterol even before they reach high age. If you feel anxiety because of what the doctors are telling you about the perceived dangers of high cholesterol, then you can eat small amounts of carbs to take away that anxiety.
    The CAC test would be good to help with your anxiety. At your age and with a lean mass, you should have a CAC of zero, or close to zero. The CAC would look at calcium in your arteries. If there is calcium, then there are plaques, and those plaques would contain cholesterol as well. The theory is that if you have high LDL cholesterol, then that might increase plaque formation. If the CAC score says that you have no plaques, then obviously the high cholesterol didn't increase plaque formation.
    High cholesterol is an indicator that you have been eating a high animal fat diet. Eating a high fat diet is bad, if you also eat a lot of carbs. You can do well on a low-fat high carb diet. It's the combination of fat and carbs that quickly leads to metabolic diseases. So, if you were to eat plenty of carbs and you have high cholesterol, you have reason to be worried.

She immediately asked u why u were doing carni and asked nothing about the study bc she thinks it's all bs. I couldn"t beleive it when I heard her try to school u about people and why they have youtube channels, and blogs etc. What did she say...anyone behind it is out to take your money! Does she know u guys have a channel? OMG! She may as well have just called u and your husband scam artists bc u guys have a youtube channel. As I understand, u told her about your carni choice and as she is the person u chose to take care of your health, she couldn't b bothered to even look into it. She talked to u as if u were a child. Calling the carnivore diet the latest trend is ignorant. She's just another Dr. who chooses to remain uninformed and in doing so is not helping anyone and in many cases hindering them. She's doling out the same bad advice that Dr. Barry did in his early career and is now making amends for by truly helping people. We can all see what that looks like. Is that your doctor? I really hope u find a new doctor who will listen to u and give u the care that u deserve.

I believe that the human body does not need that much food. Maybe initially to get some healing, lose weight etc but later on we dont need to eat so much. If your hand was infected would you take a prescribed antibiotic , so you should take the statten till its undercontrol. Trust the doctors who have studied years and have practiced for years rather then a diet that still has so many what ifs, And Steve my brother who is my best friend has AS like you and spinalstenois and lives in terrible pain, so understand, it breaks my heart to see him suffer. According to Bart Kay, a cardiovascular pathophysioligist in New Zealand, your blood lipids do not cause heart disease, so it does not matter how high your LDL is. The causes of heart disease are 1) systemic inflammation, 2) damage to the epithelial cells lining your arteries (most likely due to high blood pressure), and 3) oxidation and glycation of particles in your blood, such as lipoproteins.
