Dr.Eades saved me from an early death back in 2000. Now 55, am in the best shape of my life, gone g from low carb to carnivore. Thank you Dr's. Eades and Berry!!!
I wish someone would lock me in a room and just put carnivore under the door, lol
@@angelgirldebbiejo Lol 😊
@@angelgirldebbiejo you can do it!! one bite at a time. easier though if there's support. By you own cheerleader! you go girl!
Wouldn't eating meat be included in a low carb diet?
@Dom Mirra usually, but how much varies. Some people count Net carbs, not Total carbs, so they eat a lot more plants and less meat. Dr.'s Berry and Eades are advocating reversing that. Dr. Berry also advocates counting Total carbs not Net.
August 2021 I was well over 550 pounds ''at my worse I was over 650lbs". Since then I went strict carnivore for about 8 months and the last 8 I have been strict lion diet. I now weigh in around 225lbs, able to run/sprint do crossfit, walk however long I want with no pain. Eczema, lymphedema, hypertension, arthritis in my knee and ankles, leaky gut, fatty liver, chronic kidney failure, daily blood in my stool from internal hemorrhoids ARE COMPLETELY GONE!
My mental illnesses are a hell of a lot better than ever in my whole life. And I now know I was bloated my whole entire life and didn't know what it was to not be bloated.
Thank you Neisha, Ken, Dr. Baker, Dr. Ekberg, Dr Peterson/ daughter Mikhayla- for giving me the tools to save my life.
Truly forever grateful-
lol i'm going to copy this on a notepad on my desktop so I can just paste it for now on
Thats amazing you did it without weight loss surgery as well. Shows the power of the Carnivore diet
Amazing 🤩
That is amazing? Did you have to have operations to remove excess skin?
🎆🧨🎉🎊
I had a doctor tell me my fatty liver was normal, and he went on to say, "Lots of people have it and do just fine." OMG, this was years ago and freaked me out so much that it started me on the road to improving my diet and getting strong and healthy. Today, no more fatty liver. This video was amazing. What a wonderful revelation to support my decision to go no carb and 90-percent carnivore. Thank you so much. I hope more and more people wake up and get well. ❤️ BTW, I am 73 and got my first cavity ever at 72. I have all my teeth, even my wisdom teeth. On zero meds, no joint pain, and very active.
How do you get your first cavity at 72??
What do you typically eat in a day
How did you do this?
@S L I've never been much for bread, cereals, or sodas and sweets. I did eat them, but not regularly. I love veggies and those have been difficult to give up. My favorite meals used to be huge homemade salads, but I was not a vegetarian. I just liked veggies. Those were difficult to give up. However, due to severe food allergies, I cannot eat soy, nightshades, etc. I eat meat (grass-fed beef or bison, steaks), herring or wild salmon, eggs, and some dairy such as cheese, half and half in my coffee, grass-fed butter, and sour cream. I also occasionally have cauliflower or broccoli, but not often. Cannot eat pork or turkey because I'm allergic to the "broth" they add to them, but bacon seems to be OK. The food allergies result in serious pain, illness, and body sores. Not worth eating foods that trigger it.
It really is unconscionable the way our medical system tends to normalize any pathology that becomes sufficiently common. If everybody had cancer would we suddenly decide it's NBD? JFC
I’ve reached my one month mark on carnivore. Feeling and looking better than ever. I’m 70 years old, have osteoarthritis ,severe have 2 artificial discs in my spine. Have been bed bound for 17 years Now I can walk without too much pain! Thank you Dr. Berry!! Still have a long way to go to heal Fibromyalgia and arthritis. But at least I have hope now.
My journey is at 4 months. I too have a myriad of ailments. I have a lot of pain. Some has lessened but still struggling.
Oxalates are a real problem for me, but trying to be mindful that with every dump of oxalates, i am healing. Sounds like you are healing God bless you on your journey- from your 76 year old friend
How're you two doing now? I'm at almost a year on a hyper carnivorous lifestyle...I'm a 66 year old male...
Any update? I have FM, would love to know.
I can finally eat once or twice a day as mostly carnivore and I could close 17 years of binge eating disorder... This is a real blessing
My doctor back in 2003-2005 timeframe told me I had NAFLD confirmed with an ultrasound. After telling me what it was and what the long term prognosis was I asked, “What causes NAFLD and what could I DO to fix it rather than “treat” the symptoms?”
I explained that I was eating the “healthy” whole grain, low fat, low salt “recommended” diet and was running daily and lifting weights 3-4 days each week.
He popped out of the room and looked down the hallway left-right before pulling out Dr. Eades’ book, “The Protein Power Lifeplan,” which he has hidden under his lab coat and said, “Read this if you want to know how to reverse your fatty liver.”
That started me down the path from Atkins, South Beach, Paleo, Ketogenic, to … finally, Carnivore.
I actually had to eliminate cheese and heavy cream (butter is my only dairy product that I can consume) too. But now, I’m healthier at 60-yrs old than I was in my mid-30s!
When doctors have to help people in secret because they know the standard of care is ineffective at best and harmful at worst. Smh
So funny that he had to hide it!
@@shirleypugh8675 It is funny, but it's also awful because it calls out one of the huge problems with our medical system.
Did he give you the book?
@@kellyherrin yes he did. It’s on my book shelf to this day.
My great great grandfather (1800's -1914) lived to 107. His sons lived to 102 & 103.
My doctor told me I am borderline diabetic, but not to worry about the high blood pressure because he can control that with meds. To me that is about the same as putting a piece of tape over your cars oil pressure light so you no longer have to look at it. I don't want to control my problem, I want to do away with it.
I’ve been carnivore for 6 months, reversed pre diabetes,no more autoimmune issues the list is endless…on the 31st it was my birthday and the first day I cheated (badly) my blood sugar shot up even 3 days afterwards it was 8.2 🫤 all my pains started coming back , today it seems to have settled down, this morning my sugar was 4.8 …..I won’t be doing that again ☹️
The dentist didn't believe that my daughter had never eaten sugary foods - when she developed cavities. She never drank juices either. But she ate grains and veg and corn and sultanas.
Sultanas cling to your teeth!
Omfg that kept happening to me to now the dentist say my teeth are strong and healthy as a meat eater and I always ate healthy just ate grains and veggies but no meat keep it up 🎉
I did carnivore January because of Joe Rogan, lost 20lbs in a month and have been going down the rabbit hole ever since. Very cool information.
Dr. Eades mentioned Harrison's textbook. Had to smile. Tinsley R. Harrison was my childhood best friend's grandfather who I spent much time with in his home, in his personal library, and at his lake cabin. He will never be forgotten. Represents Birmingham AL and the UAB hospital. Was thrilled to hear his name referenced!!!
wow! awesome story. thanks.
Love this and from Rockford, AL. I have never heard of this book for going to find it nor. Thx D.Wilbur!
St Clair Co here! Love to see fellow 'Bammers in the comments!
What foods did he consume?
@@lf7065 I have no idea, I do know that it was his house where I first ate sardines.
I’m graduating from Keto to Carnivore thanks to many brave doctors like you.
Well, I can tell he’s on to something here! I tried vegetarian diet, because of high blood pressure, overweight, and it is actually worked for awhile.Lost a lots of weight and my blood pressure was improving, but my tooth was going south big time, also I progressively got weaker because I am doing hard manual labor so my calorie intake was far less than needed. I had to look at what I was missing,so I had to admit that my body used up all stored nutrients from meat,so I started eating meat again. I got stronger but my joints started hurting! Back to researching again! What I find out is,the meat causes inflammation but only because the animals had been eating GRAINS,not their natural grasses etc. since than I find a farmer who raises livestock naturally, and buying from him all my meat. I has been in this diet about a year now, since then blood work perfectly fine, joint pain gone! Turn out what was messed me up is sugars, grains, and mass produced meets.Hopefully it is helpful for someone.
I believe that we are not only what we eat but also what they eat!!! :)
Good you found what was ailing you. It’s very true that what your meat eats, you eat. That’s true for veggies as well, and most of them have little in the way of nutrition these days because the soil is devoid of minerals.
What the animals eat matters for many people. Some people may not be affected by it, but some people really are.
I got into low carb years ago when I read the doctors book"protein power" . It all made so much sense. Even though I have strayed off and on many times over the years, I have managed to not become unhealthy or obese. I have now stayed on track for about the last 4 years since finding you tube and keeping myself motivated that way.
Same here -- I had heard of Atkins, of course, but it was Protein Power that really laid out the science so low-carb made sense.
Same here. I used it very successfully to lose weight. One of the times I yo yo ed in my life so I fell off the wagon after reaching my goal weight. Finally realized that I am a carb/sugar addict. Carnivore is working great for me. Still fall off wagon occasionally but knowing my addiction I work hard to climb back up
My nursing education did not include even a mention of nutrition or the role it plays on the health or disease of the human body.
To me, nutrition is absolutely critical to maintaining a healthy and thereby happy life. Thank you, Dr. Berry, for all you are doing to educate this youtube community, at least those of us who will listen. I love the guests you bring on to help us learn about the proper human diet.
The best Dr Berry interview by far. At the beginning, Dr Berry looked like a student just running the film projector for his professor. Halfway thru it, he stepped in and gained Eades respect, and it instantly became a meeting of the minds.
I'll be sending this interview to everyone.
Dr Berry. You, Bart Kay, Anthony Chaffee and Robert Kiltz are shining beacons of great information and common sense regarding proper human nutrition. I love (and embrace) the ancestral aspect of feeding. I eat carnivore combined with fasting and feel great . Thank you all ! 😄👍
Yes indeed! And I would shout to Dr Eric Westman also
@@lisawarner2139 And also Dr Robert Cywes.
Don't forget dr.shawn baker👍
Shawn is like a viking warrior. A great advert for carnivore !
Thank you for the extra channel recommendations 😊
Berry and Eades is the perfect collaboration.
I was first introduced to Dr Eades in the documentary “Fathead”. He shared eye-opening info that changed my thinking and my health. I’m so thankful for he and his wife for sharing this critical info.
Thanks so much for your work, Dr. Berry. I thought my X husband was nuts for going carnivore. He thought i was nuts for doing healthy Keto that Dr. Berg teaches. Then Dr. Berg said to do carnivore for SIBO. After listening to your videos for hrs n hrs, I've done carnivore for only 5 days so far, and am getting better so fast, that now I have to text my X to tell him he was right! Haha!
That's such a good story. ❤️😊 🌿
Stay strong! 😍
Woohoo ! About dentists! My daughter was just accepted at OSU dental college and I told her this morning I want her to write me a paper about Dr Westin Price !! She’s a leader and she said Ok laughing ! I know she will research him and go into dental college this fall hopefully educating other students !!
Being a life long student of human evolution and archaeology, this is fascinating and dead on. So well done!!!
I loved this video! Very informative. We are doing a keto menu this summer at our scouts summer camp to introduce them to better nutrition. They are currently working on their personal fitness merit badge with a low carb diet. We have had great success 😁.
Thank you for helping to help kids be healthier❣️
This is fantastic!! Thank you for educating our youth. Thank you. My DIL thinks I’m nuts and practically force feeds the grandkids candy in front of me because she knows it irritates me.
YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU CAN IMPACT A CHILD'S MIND TO HELP THEM !
Wow, they will allow you to feed kids a keto diet? They don’t try to report you to authorities for going against the conventional wisdoms that they must have 5 serves each of grains and veg every day, plus 3 serves of fruit, plus very low fat?
If an organization accepts federal money, then they half to serve meals based on My Pyramid/ My Plate/ food pyramid.
Amazing information thank you! I’ve been eating carnivore for 9 months and starting to feel the benefits and reversal of the damage I’ve done to my body over 58 years of a highly plant based diet. I wish I’d learned this all earlier but better late than never!
I know I’m late to comment but…I am so appreciative of this conversation. I love anthropology, paleo anthropology and anything to do with our ancestors and the way they lived. I am carnivore because (many health benefits) we are our ancestors. Dr Berry, thank you for including this often overlooked science!!!
In ALL literature going back as far as written recorded history humans have been ketovores. Those who insist we were strict carnivores have zero written records and only go by some cave drawings of a hunt.😉 Those who insist that there were hominids and ancient beings who were strict carnivores that made up humanity are spouting pure THEORY. It is obvious from personal experience that ketovore/carnivore is healthier than heavy carb, sugar & chemical laden foods, but that in no way proves that humanity has always been strictly carnivorous. 😉
Eating a proper human diet after type 2 diabetes diagnosis. Been fasting 16/8 during week and 20/4 on weekends and testing before and after meals, normal blood sugar . Feeling much better since I found your channel!
I bought "Protein Power" by the Eades' when it first came out many years ago. Changed my life. Thank you Dr.s Eades. And thank you Dr. And Mrs. Berry for expanding the reach of the message and carrying it forward.
The Protein Power Plan! Yea!! I ordered that diet back in the day, and still have it, and your books! :) Much respect to Dr. Eades & his Dr. wife! :) God bless you both! 😊
Protein Power was one of the most influential books I have ever read, so it was a great pleasure to hear Dr. Eades expound on what has been learned since its publication. Looking forward to Protein Power 2.0 and learning more from both of you!
The fact that the human body's need for dietary carbs is exactly zero grams per day sort of ends the discussion.
Carnivore for 6 months now. Almost absolute zero carbs/sugars for the last month. My blood glucose have been steady at 93 just waking up in the morning and then tapering down to 83 in a couple of hours. It remains in the 80s before and after meals all the way to bedtime. My fasting morning blood sugar was in the 140s back in December and triglycerides are now down to the 80s, they were 720 in Sept. last year! Yep, I call that a win! Even though I wasn't at all obese 56yo 6'1" 189lbs when I started, Still lost 31lbs. Currently down to 158. I look ripped and gone is the Dad bod. yes! All my other results (vits, minerals) are normal with the exception of cholesterol at 452, HDL 65 and LDL 360, which my Dr. thinks is too high even if my trigs and glucose are not.
Wow- this is a fantastic session! So much foundational info to help us all understand why carnivore diet is superior to any other. I have to come back and watch again when I can take notes. The slides are enormously helpful. I feel like I just sat it on an advanced college lecture.
Thank you both for this wonderful presentation! We are all deeply appreciative of your personal and professional dedication to researching, and then disseminating, this crucially important info. 🌟
The “Protein Power Plan” made me a believer back in the 80s. Thanks Dr. Eades
Thank you for educating us silly ones that are now changing our life style ❤
Well said. Ty
@@veganix6757 , can you cite some of this studies please?
@@veganix6757I became a dedicated vegan for 6 months and it nearly killed me. I’ve been carnivore for almost 2 years and my labs are great and I’m I also feel at my best I’ve ever been and I’m 56.🙏🙏
Thank you so much for this interview. Doctors Eades kicked off my low-carb journey when I bought a copy of the Protein Power Plan, back in the ''90s. I got sidetracked, but am trying to get back into the keto grove, much to the chagrin of my doctors. I'm so relieved to have actual, scientific evidence that being on the carnivore diet is actually the proper human diet. It's also a heck of a lot less expensive!
A word of caution, bugs are riddled with parasites, and eating bugs while our "overlords" dine on steak is the height of insult, that is the problem with "eating ze bugs"
I guess i'd rather eat bugs than vegans
What a great discussion! Thank you Dr. Berry for arranging this most informative interview with Dr. Michael Eades! Can’t wait to read the new book he and his wife plan to release later this year!
Dear Sirs: I cannot thank you enough for your contributions towards the re-education of all of us who "drank the Kool-Aid" - literally and figuratively. Thank you for your commitments in pursuing the truth when doing so can force you to live in the margins. I thank you wholeheartedly for your commitment to improving the health of all humankind.
Literally! I click with that because I hated water as a kid and would literally only drink that or fruit punch! I only really started drinking water by my later teen years.

I don't want to brag about my country, but Swedish medical students study nutrition for a whopping 12.5 hours. Seriously though, our health authorities still warn against saturated fat and promote unsaturated fat. Good stuff.
Dr Mike, I used to read your blog posts over and over... They were so helpful in my early keto days. Thank you so much!
Now he’s on substack and he posts every Thursday
It’s a wonderful newsletter
Excellent information, I am not a huge meat eater, not for diet reasons just don't like it much ..but I have been on a more meat diet ½ keto . My Dr said I am on the best diet there is , I was pre-diabetic. After a few months on this diet it is now normal.

Been following dr. Eades since Protein Power ... he's always up to something interesting. Is always deep into the source material, not just parroting what other "influencers" are saying. Developed and sold the first sous vide appliance for home use! Amazing guy.

Love both of these docs! Great conversation between two deeply knowledgeable, intelligent men. Was fascinated by the appendix in Protein Power on the Ancient Egyptians when I read the book. Definitely looking forward to the new Eades book.
Great video Dr.Ken, loved your guest and the history lessons!
I feel like such an idiot for not trying this type of diet earlier (KETO). Ive always talked about trying it but not until now have I actually done it and I keep feeling like this, im never going back. Thank you so much for your work Ken, tell the world.
Don't feel like an idiot. The world is not set up for keto and all the health "authorities" advise against it. Luckily we have doctors like Ken Berry, etc now. So, don't feel bad, keep up the keto and enjoy the good health!
Excellent episode!! Thank you so much for bringing the actual evidence and historical data. It was fascinating to say the least. I'm hoping this video can help persuade my all knowing 22 and 16 year old sons into trying carnivore for a month at least. You gave her love and attention and that is the most important.
You cared for her as best as you knew. I fed my kids oatmeal and berries too thinking I was giving them the healthiest food possible. No guilt, you have her your best love ❤

That was amazing, thank you Dr Ken and Dr Mike. What a mount of great information.
I saw The Perfect Human Diet many years ago and still remember the Dr talking about the cattle feed nutrition label to fatten up cattle and it was identical to USDA recommendations. Thanks for all of your hard work Drs, must be hard to face backlash from fellow Drs
Thank you for educating us.....I for one need it !!
One of the "evolutionary" comparisons I always found compelling was the Khazak Eastern Asiatic people who live primarily on horse blood, horse meat, sheep/goats, & sheep's/goat's milk compared to the Chinese Western Asiatic people who live primarily on rice, sweet potatoes, and other vegetables. Khazaks are VERY TALL, large & robust people. Chinese people are some of the shortest, smallest people on the entire planet. This is the culmination of hundreds of thousands of years of epigenetic adaptation to differing foods within Asiatic people on the SAME continent.
One generation of good diet is enough to increase height substantially though...
I shared this, this video is such an eye opening video I learned a lot and plan to rewatch it several times, because there's SO MUCH interesting information. Thank you!!!!!

Dr. Eades Protein Power Plan absolutely changed my life in the late 90’s. I had struggled with my weight my entire life and was following the no-fat mantra of the time and couldn’t lose weight. This was amazing. Thank you guys so much. I feel my best on a higher animal based diet… small amounts of non starchy veggies, mostly fermented vegetables and berries. When I start putting more plants into my diet I have horrible digestive issues that are followed by skin and mental issues. Meat heals, and keeps you healthy.
I am pretty much allergic to wheat. My doctor said "you just have an overactive stomach". Just take the Prilosec or Nexium. This was well before you could get it over the counter even. A few years later I realized he was full of crap. I thought to myself "why can I eat chili peppers and Tabasco with no problems, yet a piece of toast and jam creates immediate acid reflux? WTF is up with that?
Yep I get so sick of hearing ppl talk about their GERD that they claim is from spicy food or tomatoes etc yet even though they cut those things out they still have to take the flipping acid blockers all the while they are downing bellies full of wheat with literally every thing they eat yet they won't admit it could be the one thing they eat the most of and are flat addicted to to boot... Like hello how often does the average modern person eat spicy peppers or tomatoes just plain...99 percent of the time your eating then with grain of some sort ... And it's not just the wheat causing so that reflux... It can be pretty much any grain
@@jessicah2345 Exactly right. Oatmeal and cornbread will give me acid reflux almost as bad as wheat!
