This simple and easy, homemade Naan bread recipe tackles the issues of making these wonderful flatbreads on a ceramic/electric hob.

Indeed a very good recipe! Thanks very much. Just a couple of notes: 1) 2 cups of flour is not 500g due to density. 2 cups is about 240g. 2) I live in tropics and so I only needed about 50-60g of water for the 240g of flour. My trick was to is a blow torch to carefully produce the leopard spots. Worked a treat! Thanks again.
How much water depends on type of flour and grain. High protein grain=high gluten=more water to get same consistency of dough. Best is to try with the minimum water to start with, adding more if needed to reach the desired dough consistency.
You are so right. In another recipe it called for 55g of milk. O realise the recipe is way better with water.
thank you so much i was confued about that🙏🙏🙏
You can't beat a HOME MADE NAAN. Great Demo - showing us how to cook Naan on a Ceramic Hob.

I'm a keen cook (I'm not a pro but I got to the SF of Masterchef a few years back) - I love researching and cooking North Indian and Pakistani food. I've watched lots of videos on UA-cam and I have to say your recipes are among the best I've seen! Also as as a British Asian I'm really happy you stick to authentic recipes. Would love to see you do your versions of a lamb or beef nihari as well as chole, seekh kebab and chapli kebab!
Keep up all the great work! ❤👍🏽👏🏾
Thank you so much Randy. Welcome to my channel 😊👍
I'm currently working on a Nihari recipe which will be up very soon. Please stay tuned! 😊

May i ask whats the name of the pan that she used? I tried to find in Amazon but the pan that were appeared were no stick pan
@@jayneh2006It’s called a Tawa. If you search online, you should easily find one, plus Indian stores online & physical ones usually carry them as well. Btw, Amazon does carry as well. Just search for “Tawa pan for cooking Indian roti or chapati” or something similar. Also, if you want the same style, look specifically for a concave one…there are different styles. Hope that helps. 😊
Thanks Shamza, for another great video and easy to follow instructions 😀
Thank you for this simple video I will be trying this 👍
Yeeeam thank you so much !!! Have trierd m'y first naan today with your recipe and its Just pretty well done !!!
nice sharing
Gonna try this one. Normally I order about 4 nam with a takeaway and freeze 3 ready for when I make my curries which is every week lol. To be fair I've had no luck with making nam so hopefully this one works out for me, thanks for sharing
Thank you, I have so been looking forward to this, you finally did it 👌🏽👏🏽
Been waiting for this! Thank you ❤️
Did your other naan recipe a couple times and they turned out great! Excited to try this as it doesn't need to rise, just rest.
Sounds great! Enjoy
Thank you! ❤
Looks amazing!! 👏👏👏
Absolutely delicious nans
I just tried them. Absolutely delicious. Very successful. Thank you
Thank you and you're welcome 😊
I have ceramic hob & given up on making roti/ naan as they turn out so bad & go hard. But now im going to try this way. THANKS so much x
Most welcome 😊 I hope they come out as nice for you as they did for me! :)
Love making bread in my Weber bbq . Thanks for sharing 👌👌
You are amazing thank you!
Could you make a video on educational information like the differences between each type of bread(naan, roti, etc) spices and how to use then etc.
I'm definitely thinking of doing this, thank you for the suggestion.
Looks yummy 👍
So clever!!!
you can make a cushion out of tea towels to stretch Nan over its easier
oil the other side face down on to the cushion .and after bobbles come on pan bang the grill on high
and just rotate under grill works well better if you have electric cookers i found out.super video though
Will thank you for this ....but definitely a work out - I used a easy way Self raising flower , yogurt and bit salt and make on your flat pan and flip on high heat and it works wonderfully but if you want a work out go for this recipes is fantastic thank you !
Wow! You made it on ceramic hob, well done. Very good result, i have a gas cooker and i love my Naan to cook on gas 🔥 but you showed how beautiful they come out without that too. I love Naan from good restaurants cooked in Tandoor and my homemade ones, rest are all not appealing to me.
That’s brilliant 👍🏻
Yummy 😋
I am in amazement 😮 you are a wizard
Thanks for another great video! Simplicity and clarity . You have what it takes to make it easy for anyone to cook great food. Not far until you hit 20K subscribers ! Keep on doing what you do !💚
Thank you soo much 😊👍

Me too! Great with a nice curry! Please do subscribe - keep watching and please do share my videos to your friends and families, so I can grow the channel. :)

Just happened upon your video in my feed. I love the way your presentation is from a "real" home kitchen and not some fancy youtuber's spic and span island kitchen with potted plants etc. Makes it feel achievable and relatable. I actually have a tawa which I once bought on impulse and have never used.... Going to give this a go. Thanks so much. Subscribed and banged that bell.
Thank you so much 😊🙌
Amazed !!
where can you buy the pan for the naan bread
Made your ‘Keema naans’ yesterday, I was maybe a little heavy on the filling, but they were out of this world, thank you so much for sharing x
You're welcome Martin, glad you enjoyed then. They are delicious 😊👍
Lovely 😊 thanks for the recipe 😊
My pleasure 😊
Looks delicious
It was!
Really Brilliant❤❤
Thank you for sharing the recipe.
Where did you get your tawa from as I've recently moved into a rental.that has an induction hob. Thank you
I purchased mine from Morrisons but. I've not seem them since. Try your local Asian supermarket, they may have some.
Thank you so much for this, been really waiting a long time for this. Look s great :D
You're welcome 😊
best naan ive done..ingredients slightly different but the upside down tawa idea turned out great..thanks
Most welcome 😊
Wow they look yummy can this be done on a gas oven?
Yes, so much easier on a gas hob than ceramic. You won't need to use the back of the pan.
WalaikumAsSalaam MaShaAllah Bismillah SubhanAllah yum....
You just keep turning out amazing videos Shamza 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you Geoff 😊

Great just one tip the other dry side brush with oil and browns better .
Gas ring is of course better.
Wow amazing ❣️
Thanks 🤗
Making these tomorrow!
I made your Samosa Chaat last week and it went down a storm. Thanks for sharing your recipes and a Happy New Year from Leicester 🎉
Thank you! You too! 🎉
This looks great! Can the dough be frozen at any stage?
Hi there, not really as the results won't be the once you defrost it and make them. However, you can make the naans and freeze them.
Did you sprinkle water on the back of the pan before placing the naan? I like your tawa, which brand are you using. The one I have never sticks when I flip the pan upside down, it falls.
No I didn't as I'd applied water to the naan. Its one I picked up from Morrisons.
Hi looks great, obviously this wouldn’t work on an induction hob??
Hi, I'm afraid not. Induction hobs work differently.
Hi Shamza- I’m a new subscriber … was initially looking at Moussaka recipes and came across yours… looks so yummy! I love your presentation style- great clarity and easy to follow. Just what I want!
I am going to try your Naan recipe - but have a question- what is the name of your pan? Thanks D
Thanks for subbing! The pan is called a Tawa/Tava everyone spells it differently. I purchased mine from Morrosons but you can find them in most local Asian shop that sell cookware.
What oil are you using?
Hi. Can make this naan in air fryer? Do advise on the temperature setting n minutes. Tq
Looks too good to be 👍
The easiest and tastiest naan recipe ever. Have tried a few other recipes but something is never quite right. These produce large naans which are super filling. The dough is also really easy to work with. This will be be my go to naan recipe from now on. Thank you!!
Thank you 😊 💓
Where did you get your skillet?
Woww I've always wanted to try make naan this seems like a lovely simple recipe can't wait to try!!!!!! What type of oil did you use sunflower oil, olive oil?
Thank you. It was an olive oil blend.
Great 👍 tips and techniques, but where did you get that pan or what is it called?
Thanks Delia. It's called a Tawa and I purchased mine from my local Morrisons superstore.
How about if we have an induction hob?
we always made them with self raising flour
very nice, seen this on a Sonia Barton video, she also added garlic and coriander to it 👍🏼
Whats the pan you use? Do you have a link?
It's called a Tawa/Tava spelling differs at times. I picked this up from my local Morrisons. I'll see if I find a link and leave it below.
Are you artist or cook ? I keep wondering my wonder woman. Lovely
Excellent. I get my Indian food from "Joy of India" on Flatbush ave. in Brooklyn, NY. Your naan looks exactly like it, delicious! Great job. Beautiful English accent too :)
Thank you so much 😊👍
good girl, thanx for the lesson 🥰
Does it have to be a cast iron tawa?
I like your recipes. Can you send us link what pan from Amazon please? I love all of your videos.
Hi, I purchased this from my local Morrisons superstore. You can find them in most local Asian shops which do cookware.
Lol, love the way you cut the removal of the naan from the plate 🤣🤣🤣
Elmo, you did a great job I must say picking that out! Lol 👏🤣
Whats the name of your pan?
Beta yummy Nan I will make it just like you but please beta can you tell me which tawa that is and where did you get the tawa thank you beta from London with love ❤️
Thank you 😊 I got mine from Morrisons.
Am looking for gluten free recipe for Naan …I do use yucca flour, buckwheat, gram flour almond flour, so maybe making a mix of these…? Any ideas? Thanks
I'm sorry but I've not yet tried gluten free naan bread yet so cannot comment.
Hiya! I'm looking to scale this for a party of 20 people in three weeks time! I've been challenged by my guests to make some Naan bread for them. I've tried your recipe at home and it works out great, however, can this be scaled precisely for more people e.g. doubling the plain flour and the other ingredients? It's on me if it fails, but if it succeeds I'll most certainly give credit where its due and recommend your channel to my wonderful guests 🙂!
I’d love to make Nan bread. Can I use garm flour.
Never used it so unable to comment. Sorry
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such fantastic, no-nonsense step by step recipes, especially for those of us who struggle with cooking. So far ive Made these twice turned out superb!
God bless you. Salaamu Alaikum/ peace be upon you.
Thank you 😊👍
Canny but I spat my tea out when you turned it round 😅😅 took some getting off 👍🏼
Can you do this with a gas hob?
Absolutely, much easier on a gas hob than ceramic if im honest.
Very very nice and beautiful
Thank you 😊
Your air fryer wings recipe is so good please can you make more air fryer recipes
Working on it Misha.
Made them on tawa on gas cooker
One of them when i flipped the naan which stuck to tawa was falling off- did i splash too little water?
The tawa wasn't hot enough.

Can I use all purpose flour
Never tried it but I don't see why not. Try it and let me know too 🙌😉
Thank you! You have a nice accent!
Thank you! 😃
Hi, can you show the packet of flour you use it will help a lot thanks 🙏🙏
Yes I will
What if you have a gas hob?
Same method, just don't use the back of the tava.
Thanks Shamza a great video and you've inspired me to to try them, but please be careful about using metal on non-stick surfaces, you just want to taste great food rather than bits of teflon. It's not great stuff to swallow.
Thanks for the tip! 😊👍
Thanks for sharing so it's a cup of water
Yes it is
Smile to Jannah xxx
Nice. I use a tawa on gas. Didn't think this would ever work on a ceramic hob.
I totally agree about shop bought naan. This is something that has annoyed me for years. Especially the big supermarkets - their naans are terrible. I think part of the problem is the supermarkets always use yeast as well as baking powder in their recipes. That plus the fact that they are long life with additives so not fresh at all. Making your own like this is so much closer to restaurant naan. I wish the supermarkets would use a recipe similar to yours and freeze them - they would be so much better than the stodgy long life rubbish they have on the shelves. Rant over 😁
Lol yes I'm thrilled I've managed to find a way to make these on a ceramic hob. The struggle is real to find soft, fluffy naans!
Baji.
What about coming to visit you and pop a frozen nan bread and cup of tea..
Saves me going to gym and watching you work out at home with cast iron pan's. lol
best wishes xxx
Haha 😄 funny girl! 😁I'm afraid I've done my wist in, so no more heavy lifting for me until things have sorted themselves out.

@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes Thanks so much 💕
I like to know why have you got to turn your tawa upside down, what happens if you use the regular side.
All the best, Thank You.
