    I used to watch every video of yours and try out the recipes together with my grandmother. Sadly, she passed away a few months ago due to a chronic illness.. She was a big fan of yours. She was in awe at your copper pans! Always used to ask me if you have "cooked anything new recently". As she didn't speak English I was always pausing and translating whatever you said.
    I wanted to thank you for everything. We cherished and enjoyed every recipe of yours that we made.

    Cool recipe. I have a couple of hacks though. 1. Use baking powder instead of yeast and you can cook them right away. 2. Add some atta or flour to the butter when you cook it and it will grab all the milk solids and soak the water content. The ghee will not burn like yours did and you won’t need to skim which can be wasteful. You can also sprinkle some sugar on the separated floor and milk solids and eat it. It’s amazing.

    My grandma would make Fry bread when we were little. On the farm she always had bread rising. She would pinch off some dough and fry it up for a snack for my sister and myself. With fresh butter. Great memories. Buttermilk was always on the counter which we refused to drink so it was well water. I will pick up yogurt tonight and make naan bread with your recipe. Thanks for all the great recipes.

    A TIP from India from the lady of the house. She cooked the nans directly on the stove on a low flame. She didn't use a pan at all. They inflated a lot. She cooked few to show me and I cooked the rest for the family dinner. The nans where delicious.

    This recipe came out wonderful, I've had gluten sensitivity and had been gluten free until recently experimenting with Einkorn, an ancient wheat, which doesn't pose the problems I get with modern highly hybridized wheat. I didn't have any yogurt but make kefir and always have that on hand, so I just made some adjustments to get the right dough consistency. Many thanks!

    Looks delicious. For the absolute best hard boiled eggs to serve your guests at breakfast: Try gently injecting a few ccs of melted butter into eggs with a hypodermic syringe and needle just before boiling them.. You'll be amazed at the results. Believe it or not, the small hole that's created from the injection also helps stabilize the pressure that builds up in the egg during the boiling process and helps avoid the shell cracking and the contents leaking into the water. Once the eggs have boiled for 10 minutes, rinse them in cold water from the sink and gently place them in a small pot of ice water. After they've soaked in the ice water for about 3 to 5 minutes, peel them under another stream of cold water from the sink. You'll be surprised how easily the shell separates from the albumen when the egg is extra cold. Now enjoy some extra buttery hard boiled eggs with a little salt. Finally, go ahead and grind the shells in the garbage disposal. Eggshells actually serve to sharpen the blades. Thank you for allowing me to share.

    You can make ghee in a large measuring cup in the microwave. You’ll know it’s done when it stops bubbling (that’s the water) and foaming (milk solids). The milk solids will turn brown and sink to the bottom and you can just pour the ghee into a mason jar or something. No skimming or burning, as long as you keep your eye on it.

    The second one looks very authentic! The traditional way to make garlic naan is to rub the garlic directly and enbed some on the side that'll be buttered. If you are making the traditional way you place the side with toppings on the naan pillow (tandoori naan gaddi) facing the pillow, so as it makes the pretty side with the bubbles face the middle of tandoor.
    If making with your skillet method have the toppings facing you. Just gently press toppings so they won't fall off when you flip the skillet.

    Hey man, love the recipe! I used to make these, with the upside down method years ago and I needed a refresh. I’ll give you a tip for making ghee without as much fuss: use a small and tall saucepan, when the butter is ready transfer the pan to the sink full of cold water. Lower the temperature like that to stop the browning then leave the pan on the counter to rest. In five minutes all of the milk solids will be on the bottom of the pan so you can carefully pour the ghee out without spooning

    • @egyptiansushi
      @egyptiansushi 2 роки тому

      since we're speaking English it is actually linguistically okay to call it "naan bread" as it specifies which type of bread it is (in English "naan" does not mean "bread", it means a specific style of Indian bread). In India they actually call American-style sandwich sliced bread "bread naan" :) this happens with all sorts of things all over the world, like chai tea, rice pilaf, shrimp scampi, ahi tuna, sahara desert, panini sandwich, chutney sauce, and it goes on! It's also a good idea sometimes to say "naan bread" out loud in English without context so that it doesn't sound like "non".

    One helpful hint for viewers - keep your stacks of cooked naan under a damp tea towel until serving, then quickly brush on the butter, serve! I always enjoy your recipes, thank you! Also you didn't show when you added the salt.

    I’m making this as I type. It is coming together perfectly. I did need to add a teensy bit of water to the dough as it was coming together though. We have very dense flour in Missouri. 😊

    I made your naan recipe today and it tastes delicious, however, I had to mix by hand and it took forever. At last it came together beautifully but very sticky. I added a teaspoon of vital wheat gluten to make sure the dough would rise. I plan to make it again, the yogurt is a plus!
