Medina Marching Band bid farewell to their chairman of 25 years, Kevin Hayward

Just shy of 100 band members, past and present, came together to perform last time for Kevin Hayward at the Isle of Wight Crematorium.
With weeks of rehearsals, Medina Marching Band certainly did Kevin proud as they played him into the crematorium, and again outside afterwards for around 30 minutes.
Kevin Hayward, chairman, leader and friend of Medina Marching Band, passed away in February 2023 aged 64 following a 4-year battle with Lymphoma.
Newport Carnival would like to thank Kevin and all his band members for their support over the decades of performing at ours, and other Isle of Wight Carnivals.
Our thoughts are with Kevin's friends and families.
