I had this play set. It was amazing. Unfortunately my parents sold all my stuff at their garage sale to pay for medical bills. Had I known this was so rare, I may have tried better to keep it. I'm getting chills watching this video.
I just stumbled upon this. Really great review. Good job, sir.
+Charlou27 Thanks for watching!
It's truly a tragedy that modern day Kenner, i.e. Hasbro, seems to have no interest in doing action-playsets. These were just as important to us as any action-figures & w/today's more sophisticated sculpting technology & better paint apps would be awesome for us adult collectors to own.
i know it is kinda off topic but do anybody know a good place to stream new tv shows online?
Awesome video amigo, love your enthusiasm and camera work here.
Very nice review! Brought back memories of owning that toy. Congrats on that bonus Indy figure!
I still have this playset. Never had Indy though. I always used a Han Solo figure.
Dare I say it, this may be the best player Kenner ever made. Great review!
I had this playset with Indy, Salah, Toht, the german mechanic, Marion, and the special edition Belloq.
It was a blast.
Wish I had saved this stuff. I was the only kid in the neighborhood lucky enough to have everything Kenner made for Raiders.
Your videos are great man, awsome work
Ive probably seen this video about 20 times
So glad you like it!
Another great toy review! Thanks for the upload!
There were 3 Indy's per case and one Marion. The cases mostly were made up of Toht's and Cairo Swordsman. I was only able to find Indy and Marion because I happened to be at the store the morning they put the figures on the shelf. I never saw an Indy or Marion again in the store.
BCibroski - Thanks for sharing. The toy line is only as popular as it’s least popular figure. And beyond Indy and his friends... they were all “least”.
the C3PO and R2D2 were actually very intentional, not just a Kenner thing. Watch closely in those scenes in the movie and you can see hieroglyphics of them on the walls, a special Easter egg for fans of the Star Wars from Steven and George. They go by fast, but that is REALLY cool that the toy also incorporates that, wow.
AWESOME video! I had the entire line as a kid and loved all of them. I recently sold them off. Sad to see them go, but hopefully it went to someone who will appreciate it as I did all those years ago.
This video is phenomenal! Thanks for documenting this for us :)
Yo dude what are you doin here? 😅
@@TheLEGOStud77 He's a massive Indiana Jones fan
I had this place set back 80’s . My favorite was the convoy truck Indy could under it and drag behind, great video man
I had this as a kid! It was about 1982,I was 7. I remember Indy figure, the ark its cover, the play set with snakes, and frog and the bald headed guy that died fighting Indy airplane propeler.I had indy. My dad threw everything out 1988..I was 13 as he trash bagged everything, saying I was to old for them.
Very well put together video dude great work
Awesome review! This is truly the “Holy Grail” for me. And the fact that you got an Indy with it?! Color me jealous.
Alter Ego Comics - Thanks! Hope you find one too.
Good review i watched this 2 years ago and stumbled upon it again
Thanks for watching (both times).
Man, your awesome! I had one of those action figures.
That's perfection. Great video RetroToyReview!
Omg that is the greatest thing ever, the ark looks amazing.
I got this for Christmas one year. Didn't get any figures to go with it, but I had this.
Kenner made awesome shit!
Great video! I had this, but sold it some years ago, but not with a loose Indy figure (LOL!)…I didn’t realize the Indy figures were so rare and it makes sense that the unavailability of him caused the failure of the entire toy line….how sad….they should have ramped up the Indy figure production!
I had the German Deuce and a half truck, the Gestapo guy and the Indiana Jones in the Afrika Korps uniform...which I used as a German Soldier.
holy shit!!! I knew it was in the film, but I never new it would make it on a toy!!! r2 d2 and c3p0 rule!!!
Wow, that was an excellent video! You really put a lot of time into this and you look like you had a good time making it! Plus, bonus Indy? Wow!
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
This was a great video 👌
Excellent review, marvelous set, thanks for sharing it!!!!!!!!
Great review. Quality fan videos are why I predominantly watch UA-cam 👍🏻
The R2D2 and C3PO are a reference to the movie, in which they appear in the hieroglyphics
Those aren't snakes... Asps, very dangerous Indy! Playsets as these would be almost, almost, as hard to find nowadays as the real Ark! I'm just glad I got to see it here.
great reviev, for a greta playset, I never had as a Kid an Indiana Jones action figure, I long for them, as a kid I customized a bespin han solo with a playmobil hat and a whip of leoric the leader of the visionaries, and I played with it, for years, later on I could buy my Indiana Jones action figure, from the disneyland souveniers figures
success!
The hyroglphics of R2 and 3P0 appear in the movie. If you freeze frame the scene, you can see it.
Really awesome vid buddy!!!!
Dang, now I wish I had one of these!
Was that figure really a surprise when u opened it.
UnorthdoxCleric - Sure was! Wasn’t listed as having a figure when purchased and was a total surprise when he rolled out.
I had these. It was short-lived as far as what they produced but I actually think Kenner pushed these out again when Temple of Doom came out; I bought mine after seeing Temple so that means they were in stores in the summer of 1984. This is a great review! Great production values! I recently did a review of a carded vintage Indie on my channel.
Plus the toy line came out an entire year after the movie was in theaters. The enthusiasm of the marketplace had died down.
This was a really cool toy. I had this. Wish I still did. I got it for Christmas 1982, along with a ton of G.I. Joe stiff. The Indy figure doubled as Doctor Who, I had to use a bread tie for a scarf. Lol.
I wish you would have shown the back of the break away wall, that is where I always kept the mummy.
What about the 12 inch indy,a redone han solo,i loved it as a kid!
Actually it did continue in 2008 with the 4 original movies because of the Kingdom of The Crystal Skull film figures were made for all 4 films by Hasbro lol plus Disney had some made for their theme parks as well, Hope they make some for Indiana Jones 5 too! 🤠 Thank you for sharing your collection memories sir! 🏆 🔟👍
I still have the Ark of the covenant from this set. Now I've gotta try to find this set again on EBay!
Cool review
Technically there was dust in the Ark, likely remnants of the stone tablets of the Ten Commandments.
I remember buying these and the clash of the titans at odd lots.
DUDE YOU ROCK! MAKE MORE VIDS AND MAKE A COMEBACK!
great score.
Imagine though if only the Indiana Jones Figure was released...
The soundtrack is 80% of the movie for sure.
Had it but no figures. Used SW figures. It was cool.
Well back in 2008 hasbro re-issue the Indiana jones toys just as you know!
Can you review the 90s stargate toys?
LEGOStudios9083 Stargate funny I found one of my Stargate action figures yesterday
I would imagine if they continued to make playsets they would have made the German airplane that exploded and submarine.
Who else looked away when he opened the arc?
why would you do that when..."IT'S BEAUTIFUL"!!!!
I had it!
What is a set like this worth today in 2024?
6:10 😂😂😂😂
My holy grail: Marion Ravenwood carded
Schush - Marion is indeed the most valuable. You just can’t play with a carded figure, though. ;)
Make more!!!
Why did you add in click effects
Great please do star wars
Harold Tan - I have done Star Wars. A few times. Please go check out my other vids.
6:56.....IF YOU DARE !!!
Lol, that's no shit. I only had Beloq, Toht, Nazi Indy, and Cairo Swordsman, lol
can you send me it?
can you you 97th.
can you send me
Oh yeah if you are wanting to buy this Indy is not in the set. :)
JosephProductions - Yeah. The set is nothing without Indy!
I have this one forsale if anybody wants it let me know
don't open the ark we all know what happened to all of them
I hate sneks
