The PRS SE Custom 24-08 To my ears had more clarity in a fuller sound but it was close Which is interesting, giving that there are different pickups different string gage and a different nut.
I love my PRS SE CE 24 Vintage Cherry Satin that I bought in last February..... It feels good, plays well, is only 7.2lbs, love the finish and 10 radius. Finally PRS makes a lovely guitar for those who cannot spend $$$ !
The set neck definitely has thicker mids. I personally prefer the se ce sound. But I reckon with a tweak on the pickup heights and pole pieces they'd sound the same
Personally, I can only hear an output difference. The Custom 24-08 has more output than the CE24. Both are great, tho. IMO, it comes down to which one you prefer visually. And, feel-wise, if you like a glossy or satin neck. Nice and honest review, Sergio. Saludos desde México
You aren't the first person who says the sound is clearly differentiable although in videos, as you have highlighted , that difference seems minimal. I am a proud owner of a Eriza green Custom 24-08 just like yours and I love the sound and playability of it. But man, may I ask you two questions? 1. Have you noticed any balance change when you changed your tuners? I've read locking are heavier so I'm afraid the balance may vary noticeably. 2. Why have you change the springs of the trem? How often do you think they should be changed? And which do you recommend? (These are three questions .. but count as one 😅)
Hey man! So for the locking tuners I haven’t noticed any change in weight, the PRS ones are very lightweight, I think they weigh practically the same as the non locking ones, I love them and I really recommend them! For the springs, I changed them because the stock ones made a lot of noise in recordings, so I put less noisy ones, I don’t remember the brand because my guitar tech recommended them to me, but I believe there are plenty available on the internet :) If you don’t want to change the strings you could simply put a foam pad between them but if you use the trem a lot it could interfere
@@sergioserramusicYeah! That's true, I feel there's a continuous harmonic sound every time I play any C note or chord. I've thought about just putting a little cotton ball to make the springs usable but not so resonant.
@@sergioserramusic it shows that you have a bit more feel with it. I have always felt that i can get over a little bit of a guitars short comings if it inspires me to play more, play better, or play a different style. Then again, this has led to my owning too many guitars. Lol
Sergio, I have a Satin and I love it, but I think I'd like better pickups. Do you (or anybody here) have suggestions as to which pickups to use? I'd like a slightly brighter and warmer sound. Or like Sergio calls it, more creamy.
@@oscarmontubio9473 ahah a creamy option is the classic Seymour Duncan JB and Jazz set, a friend of mine is very happy with them. I would love to try a usa set of PRS Pickups, hopefully I will in the future, you’ll see on the channel of course, because that would retain the splitting capabilities that I think PRS nails every time!
This was a great demo. I'm consistently surprised how dark the Satin sounds on clean sounds. I'm not sure why that is, but I have noticed that in a wide range of demos.
I haven’t played the Ibanez so I can’t comment on that. I know that I don’t like Ibanez pickups in their less expensive guitars, the fretboard is flatter so it could be more comfortable but it really should be up to your taste, I suggest you trying them if you can. The PRS has more premium woods, but that may count to you or not, I like the feel of rosewood better than its substitutes and PRS is one of the few that offers it. And for the looks, 100% PRS for me

They both sound green to me, should have gone for another color to notice a diference.

The most usefull thing, which is "how does if feel", cannot be reviewed in a video !!!
I heard more sparkle on the light green on the first clip while clean
I just got the satin a few weeks ago. For an affordable option it kills, but the custom sounds a bit better to me, less flat.

Combo of the pickups and (lack of) maple top.

Maybe its me but CE24 doesn't sound as bright or loud, could be the recording, meaning C24 sounds better.
