Total impulse purchase on my part, but completely worth it. In this video, I talk about my personal experience with this guitar and why I feel it is the Paul Reed Smith guitar that I have been searching for to suit me best!

This is one of the most important guitars ever made in history.
It anyone ever asks “what guitar should I get as a beginner?” This is hands down the best option it’s not even close.
I could agree with this sentiment!
This and the epiphone les paul classic are my 2 favorites, be hard to pick for anyone especially a beginner. Can't go wrong here fo sho.
I just bought one a few weeks back for the same reason. The neck feels perfect. I much prefer the satin neck feel.
I played one of the gloss finish ones not that long ago, and they also have the satin neck, just in case anyone else reads this wondering.
I had a Custom 24 and didn’t have a satin neck. It made it really hard to play for longer periods of time
Sick playing track man it feels like every video they get better and better!
Thanks, dude! The goal is to always improve. Glad to hear it's paying off! ⚡️🦩
Agreed, the turquoise is definitely my favorite color too!
The others look great, but yes this is by far the best one!
If I buy it, I'm getting charcoal. Turquoise looks tacky to me and red and black is an unfortunate historical colour combination.
The Tremonti SE is definitely one the best SE guitars PRS offers.
It is though. I didn't want to seem like I was ragging on it, I love them, the gloss on the neck is an easy fix!
My wife bought me a tremonti se in 2018 after I finally got home from fire camp. It's been one of the mains since. Just played it at college ministry tonight, thing's a workhorse and sounds great. Also the most low maintenance guitar I've ever had.
Great demo track, Jonathan! It's interesting that PRS is going the opposite way of some other brands with pricing. Have seen mostly good things about this one and I might have to pick one up as well
Thanks, dude! That's what I've said about their pricing. Epiphone is going to Gibson prices 10 years ago and it's hard to afford. I might have to switch my favorite brand if it keeps up. 😂
Between this and the SE sale from last Fall, they're getting PRS guitars into the hands of a lot of new customers!
Sounds great, nice playing too. My only gripe is that it's so pronounced that it's a 3 piece body, wish it was hidden a Lil more but for 499 that's not much of a gripe. Good vid
Thanks! I don't mind it, myself.
Nice. I just got one in 'vintage cherry' and I am happily learning to play.
Great choice to get started with!
Just got one. Am having 17 guitars but this is one of the best. Just love the stripped down appearance. Prefer bolt on vs set neck. Prefer the satin neck. Prefer a rosewood fretboard. Fretwork is excellent. Trem seems to be really stable. The nut is a lot like graphtec. Will exchange the tuners for Gotoh locking tuners. Did spray paint the standard (ugly) tremelo arm. It has a nice black metallic coat now. You have to adjust either the volume or the highs using the tone control, as the pickups are on the bright side.
That’s some nice picking there.
Why thank you! ⚡️🦩
Nice woodgrain on this guitar! Coil tapping and real rosewood! A no brainer in my opinion. The Se line is great. check out the new $499 Se model 24...pretty cool choices from Prs!
PRS has been impressing me lately. I've always passed them up, fiddled on them a little, but man, I've paid attentention more lately and it's awesome.
@@Electric.Flamingo agreed that's why it's on my to get list....soon.
I don’t like 3 on a side headstocks especially the dinner fork PRS but willing to try this one.
Great vid
Thanks for the insight
Thanks!
I have that one. It’s well worth the price 👍🏼👍🏼
And Im not so paranoid when my son wants to borrow it. 😆
Always a plus! lol
I love mine ! It's the identical guitar to the SE CE 24 has a mahogany body, maple neck and rosewood fretboard with the same hardware and electronics...the ONLY difference is the mahogany body does not have the glossy maple veneer top. Also keep in mind it's $200 less !!! I have the vintage cherry red. It's incredibly resonant...
Nice!
Here in the U.K. the SE CE 24 with the maple cap has dropped to £529 against £499 for the satin version on the video . Guess PRS figured they’d never shift them when as you say almost the same guitar was £ 499 against £700 !! I’d go for the maple cap version 😉
@@daviddalziel884 Here in the US. the maple cap SE CE 24 is $699 so it's still a $200 difference. Personally I didn't care about the glossy finish.
I can't deny the green looks cool in the videos. But I kinda want the charcoal satin cause btbam is my favorite band and it's a mix of paul's finish on his signature ibanez but black and a prs like dustie's signature prs.
I have too many guitars already though.
Two points.
1: the charcoal is my other favorite color of these. It looks sick.
2: you can never have too many guitars. ⚡️🦩
Shredwin Von Shredenstein Nice intro track bro. The Turq sounds super chonky!
Thanks, my guy! It is such a nice guitar, easy to craft tones out of it!
@@Electric.Flamingo Sure seems like it. Do you find you are using the split feature much for the pickups? I always felt like I wouldn't ever use that, but I don't have a guitar that does it.
@Sean_Plays_Guitar so, like I said in the video, with PRS, I usually find myself using it more often than not. PRS has always seemed to get the coil split thing right, to me. I don't know how to describe it, but it's usable.
@@Electric.Flamingo I think that is what I have heard. It's not like a strat at all....but it IS a good sound. From PRS that is.
@Sean_Plays_Guitar definitely not "strat-y." If you want that kind of sound from PRS, I hear John Mayer has us covered there. 👀 lol.
That will have to be the next PRS I look at, the Silver Sky.
I agree, good price for a very good quality guitar! Im planning to get either the Se Mira or this model. Im not a fan of green, maybe the black. 🤣
Yo, the other colors of the CE look great, I actually saw the red one in person the other day. Looks sick! I'm just tired of red and black guitars. lol. Turquoise/green has always been a favorite of mine on a PRS though. They just look awesome!
@@Electric.Flamingo I'm glad they make a color you like. Unfortunately I have no choice but to buy from photos online as there are no local stores that carry Prs in my Province in Canada.
@dragan4658 that's sucks, man. I hate to hear that. 😭
Is this guitar more metal oriented with the 85/15 humbuckers or can you get a clean, warm sound for jazz, too?
I'd say it's more gears towards rock players with a moderate amount of gain, but it's perfect for jazz, if that makes sense.
How the tremolo handle drop tuning, what did you do to make it stable, thanks bro
Trem is pretty stable, even after hitting it fairly hard. A good set up, spring placement and tension and lots of patience is what it takes!
just make sure you dont adjust your bridge screws while there's tension in the trem block springs
Good tip!
I wonder if the DGT is overrated only reason I am considering it , has Jumbo frets.
When I get this turquoise one, I am swapping the Tuners for Locking Tuners.
I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT LOCKING TUNERS
Locking tuners are nice and certainly a welcome upgrade to this one.
You rocked that mother! 🤣
Thanks, dude! Had a little help from a great playing guitar!
@@Electric.FlamingoWhat was your signal chain?
@KillaFXZ straight into my interface, I used a patch in Neural Amp Modeler called "MTS_Shiver_TS9_DropMetal" and blended two speaker IRs, a G12T75 and a V30.
@@Electric.FlamingoNice! I got that!
Bro are the fret jumbo
Not jumbo, maybe medium jumbo? Either way, they are nice frets.
@@Electric.Flamingo bro is it good for thrash metal... Actually i am only woried abt the jumbo frets.. 🙂
@MusicalBoys18 good for all around, really. Thrash away!
Amazing guitar but in my opinion the position of the switch is terrible mainly if you wanna play faster things. Nice video 🥳
Thank you very much! I tend to prefer the McCarty switch position myself, very much like an LP and it's more familiar to me, but you adapt and learn as you play it!
@@Electric.Flamingo Nice man! I'd like to buy some PRS but I gave up just because about switch position. I prefer McCarty, Les paul position as well
Disappointed with the lack of locking tuners
It would have been a nice touch, but for the price of the guitar, it's worth upgrading if you prefer them!
Cheap upgrade. This is priced like a Squier Classic Vibe!
This one or the fesley??? 😅 ;)
@mce3210 of the two, I think the PRS get the pass just because you have the coil taps on it. Otherwise, playability, they honestly feel about the same in the neck.
That guitar sadly costs $1800 usd in my country, but it looks a good guitar tho
Oof. I hate to hear that. 😔
In Brazil it costs exactly the double of the US price.
@@joaovictorlucas4480 Oh man .... rough stuff.
pickups sound harsh, very unpleasent type of bite to me
More than likely the IR I used than the pickups.
Mine was a dud
Hate to hear that. All brands have their duds, unfortunately, no matter the price range. I'd trade it for a new one and see if it's any better!
almost 600 in europe, damn those pickuprings are ugly.
your guitar sounds a lot like a drum
Not sure how to take that, but I guess it takes a lot of talent to make that happen, so thanks. 😂
@@Electric.Flamingothe drum volume is TOO LOUD.
That makes that guitar worth more as it multi tasks!!
@@jasujokelainen5073lol
Don't like the colors, fatter necks, or worthless trems. Hard Pass. Sounds nice, but for $500 I'd rather go with Epiphone, Solar, or Music Man.
Hey, to each his own, dude! Can't go wrong with any of those, especially Epiphone. Got plenty of Epi videos on my channel if you need guidance. 👀⚡️🦩
Which Epiphone and Musicman at this price point?
How's the trem worthless? It stays in tune bro.
those are like 750 now lol
Just checked Sweetwater, still says $499 for the satin ones. Even the gloss ones are listed at $699, so where you're seeing $750, I'm not sure.
No they aren’t lol
I just picked up a gloss one for 586$ on sale this month November! Go check out guitar center!
Loudguitarist ur opinions mean crap. Epiphany are made by Gibson who's quality control is shit over priced junk
