    Bio: Ruslan KD is a Christian UA-camr of Armenian descent who was a refugee from Baku, Azerbaijan, before moving to the United States as a child. He started his UA-cam channel in the mid-2010s, which has since grown into a popular platform for discussing faith, lifestyle, and music. Known for his insightful commentary on Christian living, culture, and personal development, Ruslan has built a community of followers who value his thoughtful approach to contemporary issues. In addition to his UA-cam presence, Ruslan is a speaker, author, and advocate for godly ambition, often addressing topics related to leadership, mental health, and the integration of faith in everyday life.
    Our mission is to encourage, empower, and inspire people to live a life that Blesses God, in accordance with His word. As the Psalmist proclaims, "Bless God in the great congregation, the Lord, O you who are of Israel's fountain" (Psalm 68:26 ESV), and "Every day will I bless Thee; and I will praise Thy name forever and ever" (Psalm 145:2 KJV). Just as Simeon, after encountering Jesus, "took him up in his arms and blessed God" (Luke 2:28 ESV), we seek to lead others in a life of stewardship, relevant engagement, and practical living that honors and blesses the Lord.

    I’m new to Christianity and was only baptized a few weeks ago. I had been reading the Bible, studying a bit on my own and took an interest in apologetics before I started going to church and studying with a pastor. I say that because maybe I’m not hearing things right.
    What makes me nervous about these new age churches, affirming churches or whatever they’re called, is the language that the leaders use. No matter how hard they try, it sounds like they’re saying, “God didn’t account for the changes in society as time progresses and so we’re going to tweak the rules to correct His shortsightedness.”
    I don’t know if that’s how they mean it but that’s how it sounds to me.

      These kinds of conversations are super tough but it can be fruitful. We just can't lose sight of what Jesus did for us and if you put your complete faith that He died to pay for your sins, God will give us mercy and grant us eternal life... and if you truly believe that, you will try to keep His commandments to the best of your ability. The Holy Spirit will convict you if you've truly surrendered yourself to Him, He will guide you through the narrow path. I think we can be genuinely convinced of something and be wrong about it and still receive God's grace... but you also need to be open to being wrong and humble yourself. You have accept God's will, even if it makes you uncomfortable. You have to ask yourself... are you holding these positions because YOU want it to be true or because you truly believe this is the will of God.
      I'm very happy for you coming to the faith! ❤ Over time, you become more comfortable with conversations like this. Just keep your focus on Jesus 😊

      Also pray for protection & discernment bc you will get spiritually attacked by darkness &/or by the sins of the world, over time things you used to enjoy you won’t anymore, if it’s not how the Lord wants you to live.
      Don’t be alarmed though, bc as much as you’ll experience very real spiritual attacks, you’ll also experience the BEST, greatest feelings you’ve ever felt in your life of LOVE, PEACE, JOY, & COMFORT …the list goes on. But those are the most powerful, & forever changing. ❤
      So, as much as it’s uncomfortable to go through this change, maybe off putting at first, over time-as the Lord decides to reveal himself to you more & more, everything will just become clear, your perspective shifts & bc of Him you’re just a better you, & in all the important things that actually matter.
      Anyways! I didn’t mean to write a novel🤦🏼‍♀️😂 I haven’t even finished listening to the video but I felt compelled to reply:) I’m soo glad for you that you’ve accepted Jesus Christ! Go at your own pace & keep an open mind & open heart🙏🏼🫶🏻💜✝️ wish you the best! God Bless

Sanctification IS what will happen when we choose to walk with Jesus. And that includes homosexual practicing. Just like an unrepentant career thief is not actually a follower of Jesus. Or an unrepentant heterosexual fornicater.... the entire point is that we MUST realize we're sinners (after establishing what God says sin is) and accept Christ's gift of salvation on the cross... after that, we WILL be sanctified. That’s not what he said at all. He said that cultural shifts have redefined things that the church has called its unchangeable tenants. Given the moment and cultural context the church renegotiates its interpretation of the text.
      People thought that the Bible clearly said the Earth revolves around the sun.
      People didn’t believe in divorce and now the Christian church is tied with the secular divorce rate. Slavery in America was upheld by Biblical standards and slaves were told that their salvation was coming in the after life.
      That’s his point! That the church negotiated and renegotiates with the text in different traditional and cultural settings.

      @@darkcircles06 That begs the question... Why would the numbers be higher though? Domestic abuse numbers ARE more notable in lesbian women (43%) and bisexual women (61%), compared to heterosexual women (35%). Did they just poll the right group of people who happened to have abusive partners in the past or is there a common denominator that plays itself out? My conjecture is that statistics are always a double-edged sword and sometimes agenda-driven folks try to wield both sides of the blade...wanting to show high stats so the LGBTQ remain more oppressed that heterosexuals, but also show low-or-equal stats as to imply those relationships aren't different than heterosexual ones in a meaningful way.

    • @darkcircles06
      @darkcircles06 11 місяців тому +1

      @@cpjds1 what if the common denominator is that women have also been shown to be far more fluid in their sexuality than men, and most of them start off identifying as bisexual and having boyfriends since it more socially acceptable? Studies have shown women try to be agreeable and make others feel comfortable, so that behavior would make sense. Also, most of these surveys include family in the intimate relationship framework and no one can deny that people who come out to their families often get treated terribly. Up to and including becoming homeless as teenagers. There's also the issue to consider of the fact that Christianity is known for being bad about downplaying abuse, only counting it when it becomes physical and not counting neglect or emotional abuse like secular sources do, which women are more prone to trying to tolerate and work through to preserve the relationship. There's also the fact that people with alternate sexualities are less likely to report abuse to avoid retaliation.
      What I wrote is just as valid a supposition as yours is. However mine doesn't assume a whole sexuality, not even the people involved but somehow the sexuality itself, is mystically evil when that makes no sense. I assume that people are complex and individual with different backgrounds and experiences, which quickly complicates the simplistic narrative that wants all members of an arbitrary group to be bad with no discernable bad happening. Abuse isn't caused by sexuality, that's silly.

Just because a segment of proclaimed Christians did some thing during a time doesn’t mean that that is representative of Christianity. This is why we always encourage people to look to the word of God first. When it comes to businesses A business has the right to voluntary association. If I own a business and don’t want to do a particular thing, I don’t have to. If I choose to discriminate in a way that makes most people upset. Affirming people is NOT love (as you suppose), its actually cowardice. For example, if I actually love an addict, I'm going to confront their sin/addiction, and do MY BEST to help them out of their addiction. I was so impressed by both of your ability to disagree so starkly and remain respectful. So kudos to you both. Obviously Ruslan is correct, but those of you saying that means this guy is unsaved, are also not being fair. Remember Romans 10:9, we can be saved and be in error on certain things. I pray the Holy Spirit leads him into all truth. I do believe Tim had some good points about how Fundamentalism and Christian Nationalism are woven into the fabric of modern Evangelicalism. And the fact that we are always wrestling with understanding and applying the word. But I truly believe that Ruslan's overarching philosophical standpoint of allowing the scripture to interpret scripture, instead of our current cultural climate, is the crux of the isssue. The main part when Tim made me very uncomfortable was not even any of the LGBTQ stuff, but when he basically said that we have the same authority to interpret and apply scripture as the New Testament authors. That is a very slippery slope that will likely lead to a false gospel.

    • @simeonreigle2940
      @simeonreigle2940 10 місяців тому

      It has already led him to a false gospel. To arrive at the conclusions he's made, he's placed his own ideas above God's. He's altered clear words into ambiguous ones to say what he wants. This is simply idolatry.
      When men reject God, they make false ones that say what they want to hear. The pattern in the Old Testament is clear, as is God's rejection and punishment of those that do this.
      It's clear that when mankind abandons God and His ways, they go deeper into sin. Embracing homosexuality, beastiality, adultery, fornication, murder, theft, and all other ways of breaking God's laws.
      By calling evil good and good evil, he has fundamentally rejected God, His Word, and denied the faith. He has put his own ideas above God's truth.
      I agree that people can be saved with some differences of opinion on certain doctrines. We're not omniscient, and are certainly wrong in the fine points. But the fundamentals don't shift. If they did we'd have a foundation of sand, which we don't.

    I think this twisting of doctrine really comes down to a misunderstanding of true love.
    Progressives posit that love means accepting AND affirming someone however they feel they want to be, when that's actually not loving.
    If we can get our definition of love straight (no pun intended), we can keep the Gospel doctrinally intact.

No scripture is to be ignored or disregarded, EVER. Our heart should be to understand and apply every passage. We apply OT passages in light of the NT, but we don’t ignore or downplay them.

    Tim keeps repeating that Christians have negotiated with different parts of scripture throughout history. He's right about that. We need to be humble about the fact that we can be wrong.
    That shouldn't stop us from trying to determine truth as best as we can. For this, we use scripture and an understanding of how those scriptures were understood throughout church history. And it's pretty conclusive that Jesus, the apostolic teaching, and all early church history do not deviate from the core of a specific sexual ethic. This ethic leaves no room for sex outside of a one man, one woman, committed union for life and is unanimously viewed as universal (for all time).

The overarching theme in this discussion is Ruslan believes what he believes, and has studied to understand what it is he believes, and why he believes it.
