Hey we're going to make a ship that requires one of the most premium currencies in the game and not only not give it the maneuverability, survivability, radar, dpm, etc. to excel at any roles, but not even fill any roles "moderately well" other than maybe punishing isolated/over extended DDs (which a million other ships, including free ones excel at).

It's a really odd ship. Near as I can tell it's only there to tempt naive players into giving up steel because it's so much cheaper than any other steel ship.
Not even really worth it for a Tier IX coal ship price-tag, IMO.

I personally consider Vallejo as not only my favorite steel ship but also my favorite ship in general. I might be a bit biased however, considering i broke the damage world record in my 1st battle in it. I personally play it on a full lighthouse build without IFHE. With this i get often enough the 8% reload buff from top grade gunner and because of the low drag coefficient it is pretty easy to hit. Additionally you can make use of your excellent deck armor which is 38mm (except a 25mm shell catcher in the back). That way if you position right and you are playing on range you easily autobounce every AP BB shell on your deck, making it pretty tanky overall. On the other hand you ofc only heal 10% citadel damage, so cashing one in is super bad. Still thanks for the video.
I don't think the ship is bad on it's own, but for what it's worth it shouldn't be steel or at the very least be significantly cheaper.
What do you bring light cruisers for? Good dpm and radar. This doesn't have either so don't waste the steel.
Nah light cruisers are also used to delete dds by which it does. But that’s bare minimum

I had never finished the grind for Halsey until recently. Used the Worcester quite a bit, and was surprised how much I liked it. The shells are pretty floaty. But you can spam alot, and fire chance isnt bad. Wouldnt mind seeing a guide on that as its not seen in randoms much but I plan on continuing to play it.

This ship reminds me of the Ibuki, something that clearly belongs in T7 cosplaying as a T9. But at least the other one is a tech tree ship...
This boat has no redeeming value, anyone that wastes steel or any other resource on it is just crazy. But thanks for confirming what everyone should know

Standard DD dispersion would be fine like the PanAm CA's, IMO. Elbing dispersion would be asking a bit much. Add a tier-appropriate hydro and Vallejo would be perfectly functional, if boring.
I got this ship on a whim. I’ve been running a Seattle/Worcester build on it and it not great. I didn’t consider this build but it needs a buff.
I took the Vallejo as it was the only ship I could get with the soon to expire coupons and I've had decent success with it. I take IFHE always and notice once enemy ships get a taste of the alpha they will disengage. You have to be extremely picky, using range and cover and make it frustrating while being very aware of positioning. If I had a choice I would have gone for Stalingrad or the Z42 but just wasn't an option. Could have been worse, definitely better ships available. Should have radar though just so you can contribute some.
I take IFHE on wooster and it works well

I wonder why WG chose to make this ship with so little utility? Be nice if they gave this ship radar or maybe submarine surveillance to make it more attractive.

I've always wondered about this ship and thanks to PQ, we know its a piss-poor ship. Makes me think that if it was a Coal ship, it would still be a poor use of resources.
The range just means you are spotted from the side more easily so they can slap you
If this ship had radar, maybe it would be worth the steel. But as is, it should be a coal ship.
In the Lunar New Year packages, I got the 9tier battleship "Bajie" (I don't know why, it surprised me too).
Is it possible that "Bajie" will be a request ship soon?

I don't remember ever seeing a Vallejo in a battle. In any mode.
I've only seen a Vallejo once. I actually like how it looks, but that is not enough to justify the price.
Vallejo can only heal 10% of citadel damage... Worcester gets 33% like most cruisers, even then a fair population of CLs have 50% - so even if you survive being blown up you won't heal anything significant back.
4 minutes into the game - trash players on DDs are enjoying the weather on the map and doing anything except DD objectives. Tirpitz is capturing C with 0 support. Everything is okay.
And don't even mention that Ibuki....

this ship needs to be moved into coal like the nuetrashimy and black. for steel it just isn't worth it.
That looked like the worse steel ship in the armory.
American cruisers usually get radar, Vallejo, a steel ship, does not. German battleships almost always get a hydro, Mecklenberg, a steel ship, does not. Russian cruisers usually get a hydro (Novosibirsk, Petro, Sevastopol, Moskva, Nevsky all have it!), Stalingrad, a steel ship, does not. These guys drop the ball way too much on the most premium of premium ships.

I think I've never seen one Vallejo in a game. This one is a hard pass. Even if I had all steel ships and had plenty of steel, I would save it.

@thadani7100 I think it's more that everyone would rather put up with Tier X MM and just play Worcester (which isn't even that good in this day & age).
T9 MM against Superships. T9 used to be a great tier with some fantastic ships. Many players invested heavily in T9. Another nail in this game’s coffin! Well done stupid WG fools…

Wow this ship looks awful. I guess that's better than having OP ships only available to the best/most dedicated players, but on the other hand, why would anyone want to play this?

I’d say this ship is balanced. How a light cruiser should be before WG decided to screw everything up in the name of quick cash.
It's a ship I was interested in, but given I don't play clan battles, I'm not wasting my steel on it.
