People talk about the TV dads from the sitcoms back in the 80’s. Bill was our UA-cam dad. He had knowledge that he was always willing to share, had an authoritative disposition but seemed like the nicest guy around. I never knew him personally, but I’ve been getting knowledge from him for years. I’m sorry for your family’s loss. Best of luck to you all.
Thank you so much for your kind words and acknowledgement of my Dad and all the tireless work he did. I'm so happy that I was able to share him with the world for past (almost) 20 years since he started this channel. He did a lot of good and contributed so much to this incredible Powerstroke community. His loss has been nothing short of devastating and paralyzing. As his daughter, all I ask is for everyone to continue sharing their memories and favorite stories of him whenever and wherever you can. Thanks again. - Emily
Yes, I completely agree. I stumbled upon his videos some years back and became much more educated about my 7.3 through Mr. Hewitt’s experience and expertise. I didn’t know him personally but I sure would have liked to. God love ya Mr. Hewitt and God Bless his family. Your legacy is all things Powerstroke.
I never owned a diesel, but Bill taught me a tremendous amount about diesel and trucks. I always enjoyed his videos and lectures, starting in 2008 when I was just a teenager. Im happy to see Powerstroke Speciality will continue on even in the wake of Bill's loss.
Oh, he definitely did know, and he felt a connection with each and every person who commented, subscribed, and messaged him. He LOVED what he did, and he loved his followers. Whether he met you in person or just spoke to you through his videos, he considered you family. Connection was his greatest gift and he felt an obligation to this community. His loss is indescribable in so many ways, and he is immensely missed. I'm not sure if we will ever live to see anyone like him, and that is our greatest loss. Thank you for your comment, I'm warmed to hear of his impact on you. -Emily, Bill's daughter
@@Hewittemilyj I’m sorry for y’all’s loss. Ya know, I still go back through and watch his videos. Maybe not as much for the advice as I used to but because sometimes it’s nice to just watch his content and see how much he enjoyed it. I never got to meet him in person, but for some reason he seemed like a friend. Sometimes I need a good ole friend and I will put his videos on loop. I’ve never heard a single person say anything bad about him in the PowerStroke community. I’m still learning things from him that I may not have picked up the first time. People will still be learning from him even after he’s gone from us. He’s definitely gonna be missed. Again, I’m sorry for y’all’s loss and I hope you can somewhat try to enjoy your New Year. Travis Dean
even though I don't own a pickup truck, much less a diesel, always find these videos educational. Wishing the whole gang at Powerstroke a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Bill was such a great influence in the powerstroke community. Anytime I needed to work on my 6.0 I would watch Bill on youtube and get the job done. Thank you so much for keeping the channel going. I know Bill is smiling from above!
I didn't know beans about diesels until I stumbled upon this channel. Bill educated me with factual information through his unique blend of satire and humor. I can now understand what my friend who owns a 7.3 is talking about, some of the time! Well done, Bill! Carry on, Mike!
God Bless you and the entire PowerstrokeHelp team!! It's great to see you keeping Bill's legacy alive. I learned a lot from him over the past several years on my 7.3. We'll miss his wonderful personality, and we're looking forward to future videos with you all.❤
I will continue to support your business and Train A Vet. I was very lucky to have met Bill several years ago when I bought my truck from someone right near your shop. You were the first place I brought it! Bill gave me an education and armed me with knowledge! My prayers for Bills wife, family and Powerstroke family. Time for Mike to take the reins now.
Heard about his passing after it happened, what a loss…. I never owned a diesel, but as a FF drove a lot of them. I’ve watched his videos for years, always was amazed by his desire to help others by giving his free knowledge. I actually wanted to visit the shop since I live in Florida but have not had the time to. I wish I could have met Bill, he was such an asset to not only this channel but I’m sure countless of mechanics out there. I really am sorry to hear of his passing. I pray that somehow you all will find peace. I pray the shop moves forward in a successful and positive way. Again so sorry to hear of his passing, I pray that you all can get through the holidays and see the sunshine again. Thanks Bill for all of your dedication and honesty, Sir you will be missed by more people then you know.
I was shocked and saddened by his passing. I'm just a satisfied customer and fan. I really feel for all of you that were so close to Bill. Whishing the best for yall!
6 years ago I would have swore to never own a 6.0 power stroke. Bills video apparently swayed me because now I own one and it's been a pretty decent pickup. Condolences to Bill's family friends and employees.
I called today to talk about my 6.4l and the dude who helped me was awesome! (if he reads this, i was the guy calling about the low pressure fuel pump and the P0087/P2291 codes) Thank you again!
I’ve been watching Bill on and off fir years, this is the first I’d heard of his passing. I honestly feel sick to my stomach, much the same way I did when “Diesel tech Ron” (I actually found Bill due to watching Ron’s stuff) passed well before his time and left behind a cast collection of knowledge and thousands of people who thought very highly of him…..Bill left behind that same level of legacy and then some. God bless you all in this trying time, we all know he’s in a better place now.
I’ve watched all of his videos, and all the knowledge that he shared really helped my decision on the vehicle that I bought and I’m grateful I found him. My condolences. It doesn’t seem fair. He seemed like such a great guy.
Mi más sentido pésame para todos ustedes en paz descanse Bill lo vamos a extrañar pero sigue en nuestros corazones Mr Mackey gracias por todos los vídeos y el apoyo L Familia saludos y bendiciones desde Tijuana México 😢
Looks like y'all were freezing out there. Thanks for keeping the channel alive. Bill was a great guy and will be missed. Been watching for so long it makes me realize just how much I take for granted.
Agreed. It's easy to take for granted the fragility, frailty and how fleeting life is, though using that realization as a basis to your existence is when life becomes different altogether.
I'm sorry to hear of his passing. I've recommended his products to many people even though I'd only seen his videos. He just knew what he was doing. The world lost an amazing person. My condolences.
No way I’m just finding this out Seen bills channel probably well over ten years ago And watched so much It’s been a good long while since I’ve seen his vids in my recommended Condolences 💐 Bill
I somehow missed his passing. I have had a gasoline super duty since 2012. But I had a 2007 6.0 before that, and this man saved my bacon! I also referred to his shared knowledge to help my friends and family with these trucks. I was a soldier, far from home, and my truck was giving me fits. He gave me the tools I needed to handle business. I will never forget him. To share one's hard-earned knowledge is a very generous thing to do. What an incredible service he offered to others. I wonder if he truly knew the far reaching positive impact of his actions?
Like you I have just learned of his passing. Quite the shock. I’ll never forget him and all of the help he has given. Thank you Bill for all you’ve given us.
Condolences to bills family extended familiy and friends for your loss . I Will miss bills strong voice and videos with his passion and knowledge for helping others and his dedication to all the world the internet youtube and offline assistance to others . He will be missed by many , Rest in peace Bill 🙏🙏
_This still doesn't seem right to me man everyone at Powerstroke Specialty you are some down to earth folks & are fantastic at what they do! But without Bill being in the videos the vibe is just _*_TOTALLY_*_ different it feels like the channel is back at square one but it isn't 😮💨😮💨 this is gonna take a hot minute for everyone to perceive & adjust to the change moving forward. & for Mike, Pascal & all the rest of you guys I give a very big thanks for keeping the videos rolling!_
From Brisbane Queensland Australia. What can I say except WOW 😢😢😢Bill was one of those guys you could call a friend you could rely on without ever meeting him in person. The enthusiasm he espoused was infectious and knowledgeable beyond doubt on anything Powerstroke. It’s with sadness that he has passed on and I know one thing other half of the knowledgeable Powerstroke Wizardary Mikey. Is your go to guy for anything Powerstroke. All the Best to the Powerstroke Team, you all come back now. Don’t be Strangers.
Sure Missing Bill and glad for this video, hoping the family is doing alright Bill was a rockstar of the Ford diesel and blue collar real American World and will always be.
I got to fix a lot lot of 6 L because of this channel Bill will be missed. I know I have commented on other videos but Bill was definitely the best when it came to helping people with their trucks. Everybody at Powerstroke specialty is a class act and I cannot wait to get one of my trucks down there for them to dealer proof.
I always enjoyed Bill's no bs mentality and his devotion to helping folks in need. He took pride in his work and lived by his reputation as an honest hard working business owner. Wishing the company future success and that Bill's legacy can be carried on.
I watched and followed Bill for nearly 15 years and even had the pleasure of quickly stopping by the shop and shaking his hand on a trip through the area. I still cant believe he's gone but I know the legacy and example he set will live on forever
I bought my early 99 7.3 PS DRW almost 4 years ago and Bill's videos were extremely helpful to me. I'm very grateful and continue to buy Archoil. RIP Bill.
Having never owned a diesel before Bill guided me through the gauntlet of my 03 6.0 stretching out its longevity with his helpful videos. Like so many others I watched videos of models I never owned just because he and the techs made it so entertaining while you learned something too. All the best to Bill's family and crew from Canada.
Why do the good ones have to be taken too early? I watch Bill and I’ve always gave me a sense of correct. If that makes sense. In a world where everything and everyone seems upside down.
So sorry to hear about Bill. It's amazing how much knolage he had and really liked my brand as far as trucks. You guys keep it up. Thank you bill for the info and entertainment!
Im very sorry for your loss Bill was a great man. He taught me so much over the past 10 years with powerstroke repairs and was very entertaining to watch. Very very knowledgeable in his industry and he will truly be missed.
Sorry to hear of his passing He taught me a lot about the diesels. His knowledge will be impossible to replace, as he will be My heart and prayers go to all his family and friends 🙏

Bill was a great guy. He probably never knew the thousands of people he helped over the years with his videos. I’m one of those people.
I had a ‘96 Ambulance that Bill taught me how to service!

Thank you for carrying on his legacy. You are a strong woman. Please, keep this honest and customer first business going. We all love you.

He taught me so much. I watched his video on installing 7.3 injector cups and succeeded in doing it. Him and Ron are up there talking diesel. RIP
Commenting for support! God bless ya'all.
