The Surge: Easiest way to kill jumping robot scorpion things

- The trick is to use a Volatile Spectre with its insanely-high Elemental damage that these are weak to (even if you don't normally use Single-Rigged weapons this thing seems tailor-made to kill these bots so set it as a Favorite to swap to it quickly), get close, block and counter. Dodge or jump (Block+Up on Right Stick) the leaping attack if it gets far away, but all its melee-range attacks can be blocked.
After showing how quickly a Volatile Spectre kills one of these, the rest of the video is demonstrating how easy it is to just block every attack if you stay close to it. - Ігри

Omfg!!! Thank you so much.! I just spent an hour in biolabs getting 1 or 2 shotted by these fucks. Tried this method once and killed first couple. Ran out of heals went back upstairs to refill and finished the rest. Absolutely ridiculous how easy they can kill you.

You need a large enough weapon and gear with some stability. I find knocking the down with the drone to be the easiest way.

I can't block that stupid flip attack, I still take damage from it and get knocked down.
the claws of gestalte hit the tail in 2 swings as the robot swings towards you hit the tail 2x it falls off causing the robot to malfunction at that time mouse change to the left leg and hit it 2 x job done , tip 2 is to slide towards the tail to do extra damage on it with a damange booster inplant you can take it down 1 swing then the leg. overall there is no BEST way to take it down each wepeon has its own perks one is fast one is higher damage and so on the BEST way is to get gorgon amour that reduces stamina use then implants with + stamina on them and then pick a fast wepeon like the claws of gestalte or a one hander and fin d your way to takedown certain mobs blocking might be a good option like in this video but it takes alot of the stamina from you to takedown enemy's in the first place so if your in just NG i m surgesting run gorgon amour with a staff or one hander loads of stimpack 12 or 15 should do it

Wonder if its also a viable strategy against the later version of those bots, that have a new set of attack. Was personally using the firebug backflip so far... Which was still letting me get hit at times :/
the trick to the extra attack is simple sidestep it then slide in hitting the tail 2x then backoff wait for the scorpoion to jump onto you and avoid him then hit the left leg 2x the benefit from taking fdown the tail is about 2k scrap each time due to the tail dropping +6 core power implants 100% making your scrap affrage go up per hour farmed

Where do you go on this level? There is still the big boss guy but it’s covered in poison gas? I can’t find where to go

@@mrpops09 Don't know if your still stuck, but here are some tips for Phase 1 & 2.
1: Don't move your camera at all. Just lock onto an arm, and do the change target thing if the other is about to attack. The lock system is weird here and moving the camera will make you switch which arm your locked onto. Also dodge.
2: Take out the two torches closest to the boss itself, this will make the fight VASTLY easier. Leave the first two intact to get the upgraded version of the staff. Lock onto the boss's eye thing so that you can see what it's doing and dodge its attacks.
Hope this helps with getting past it in subsequent playthroughs.

I have an easier method:
High Impact weapon with Impact Boosting Arms, target and smash their front legs with a forward dash strike, then a couple of follow ups. Then jump back if not dead yet. Rinse and repeat.
Man I yeeted this game in the pin after hours of black hammer bitch boss I kept trying to get the hardcore kill for the full set then finally I do it all right but instead of doing a finisher on him I hit him he died and I got the regular shit without the arm pieces damm almost got in a coma from rage

With a massive health bar and 3 of them in the area it's still bullshit. But this does help a lot so thanks for the video.
This third area of the game has me debating whether I should continue playing just because of how cheap these robot enemies are.
Just parry the life support shit out of them; I could hug you right now, these bastards have been griefing me for a little over 35 minutes.

What do you have to do exactly ? Block and then horizontal strike?
That's it, just block and wait until they hit you (all their close-ranged attacks are block-able) then hit either attack button. Both attack buttons activate a powerful counter-attack if used immediately after you block an attack, and the Volatile Spectre does huge damage to these things with its counter attacks. Works even better if you time your block button press to right before their attack hits to increase the chance they'll stagger and make it more likely the counter attack will hit (especially if used for their backflip attack), but if you aren't confident in your timing you can just hold block and wait.
Thanks! Countering is somewhat hard still, but blocking and then attacking with the Spectre makes a huge difference. Thanks again!
I still get hit with the block jump?
Block only works if you are right up next to them, it won't work if they leap at you from a distance. Also, be sure to get and use the weapon shown in the video. It's been a while and my memory is foggy on this game now but it's possible some weapons may not have a strong enough "stability" to block all attacks. Plus this weapon in particular does way more damage to them than most others with this method. Even if these are the only enemy you use that weapon on it's worth keeping it available just for fighting these. Some comments indicate there may be a different version of this enemy later where blocking won't work on one of their attacks though, so if you are later in the game that could be the issue.
@@Rubikant Blocking still worked on them. I tried that last night. The problem was its jumped attack. You seemed to make it unharm while you jumped up. I might have to try your move tonight. Thanks your video. It helps me at the right moment.
I just destroy the tail, ans then I focus left and right leg until the robot is broken. ^^
This doesn't work....I've tried 192 times to kill these things( not in a row) and haven't killed a single one..I guess game over
