If you have trouble finding a path towards next area after the boss, you just need to get back to exo lift that got you into area where you fight Black Cerberus. Ride EXO lift to the platform where you have been be4 the fight (beginning of the video) and opposite of EXO lift will be Security doors that you can now open.
If you dont know how to open security doors, just get the Final Rig Upgrade. Here is a video on that:

you should have used a set with gives high attack speed like lynx or Chrysalis and used a single rig or heavy weapon, stuns pretty much anything, or something to boost impact (witch is stun).
The Surge is such a weird game, the difficulty spikes in odd ways.
Martyn James Right!! I've played the Souls games, Bloodborne even Lords of the Fallen and those games had a consistent challenge. Like those games steadily go from a 1 to a 10 on difficulty scale. The Surge goes from a 1 to 15 to 5 to 20 to a 1. I really like the game but I agree totally the spikes in difficulty are bizarre.
Part of the problem, especially if you're coming from Bloodborne or Nioh, is the reflexive instinct to try and dodge everything. You really have to block and counter in this game, and that's not emphasized enough by the devs like visceral attacks were in Bloodborne. You can completely nullify the Gorgon security guards with just well-timed blocking. It works well with weapons like the PAX and Legionnaire, and medium stability armor. I do agree that certain enemies are overkill (way too many Security robots) and certain attacks are outright cheap (the projectile stun attacks that lock you in place). It is a good game, but it explains itself very poorly.
No offense, but you should really check out this game, before judging.
I mean, you compare it with bloodbourne and Dark Souls, but these games are totally different.
bizmonkey If I understand correct, you think you are better with block and hit than evade everything in The Surge, right?
If I am right, then you are totally wrong.
I evade almost everything, because getting hit can be a pain in the ass, even by blocking the hit.
The only things I block are drones melee attacks.
The evade button (don't confound evade with jumping) gives you so much more options in fights.
Implants for less endurance costs by evading are good, so you don't need the shitty Gorgon set or a similar one with little stability.
If you have good stability, then it is no problem to encounter 3 strong enemies, if they have no drone support.
if you are not that good in evading you won't get fall on the ground by getting 3 hits at once.
My first playthrough was with the yellow armor in early game and late (inclusive NG+) the bloody armor set.
As I've started NG++ I have switched to the Gorgon set, because I got possibly 5 hits in the whole NG+ playthrough. I did't count hits by bosses like Big Sister 1/3.
I think everyone can get very well in this game, just by playing it.
Dark Souls had much more unfair siturations... i think the Surge has not a single one.

Effective timed blocking is absolutely a viable strategy in the Surge. It's a great way to negate certain enemies in the game (the berserker dual-wielding enemies for example) and come back with a powerful counter.
There's more than one way to play this game; keep that in mind.

For everyone complaining about the arms, you only get those if you kill him by cutting off his arms. Try and target the one holding the axe because cutting off that arm gets you the arm schematic and his v2.0 axe.

A good tip for the black cerberus boss: use the ram drone to knock cerberus. This opens a long window to hit the boss with combo attacks. But be sure to have enough energy left to do a finisher when he's almost dead.
chiccopioggia I wish I could use the ram drone but for some reason it always crashes my game.
ChiefEelHound This is a real pain in the ass, because the drone makes the game much easier.
Bossfights are getting into "jokes". Just hit the boss one time, activte the drone, hit him 1 time, activate the drone, etc.

I certainly didn't know about the tanks, so I had to defeat 3 PAX before finally finishing him off. No Black Cerberus, though. I'll definitely try this on NG+
Oh my, I am shaking. Spent a day on this, kept dying and dying, trying both methods (with or without destroying tanks). Finally made it with 10% health left and no healing for the remainder of the fight after PAX destroyed the tanks. Fortunately I knew every one of Black Cerberus' moves by then. This game is a love/hate affair - back to loving it now. I did not get Arm Schematic though, probably because I did not cut off arm at the end, but I did get MG Judge, the weapon.
The only boss in the game (well, so far) that I've beaten on my first try (of course, I didn't destroy the tanks, had no idea about that). Big Sister took me like 3 tries. But Firebug.. Oh man.. That took me 100 tries.
This game rocks.

The Judge 2.0 is a beast of a weapon and it can perform a ranged attack that uses up some of your stored energy. Performing a heavy vertical attack (hold down the button) while having some built up energy will allow you to fire out an absolutely devastating shockwave that does a tremendous amount damage.

I've noticed that sometimes if you do this, you still won't get a part of the set. I beat him this way and got everything except the arms so not sure if it's bugged

I think i tried this boss hundred times now, but i will never give up to beat him. 😂👍🏻 Good video... i will try this tip with the tanks next time.
Gotta add my two cents:
Use the concussion drone. Try to follow the drone as it flies toward so you can get safe hits (as in you won't take damage bc he's on the floor)
Actually, Cerberus is incredibly easy when you use a Heavy-Duty like the Bloodhound. Just kite him just out of reach and use the R2 + R2 combo to get in two quick hits that easily get his weapon hand.

FYI if you use the slow time injector this fight is piss easy

To those who want to get the full set at PC: F5 (quicksave) and F8(quickload) are your best friends :D quicksave before the fight, and if somethings goes wrong just quickload^^

It's easier to deal way more damage with the Pax 1h wep, after he slides at you do a slide move of your own positioning your self behind him. The 1h move set after each slide hit (sprint + horizontal attack) followed by a vertical hit guarantees a 3 hit strike ( slide slash + horizontal + vert)
Well I only got the head gear because I didn't know about this, but I'm damn happy anyway because MAN that was one intense fight. I'm all shaky.
i did also attack his right arm all the way through the battle but when I went for the finisher (right arm war targeted) I got the finisher where no bodypart gets separated. This was NG+ and I´m hella mad about this
Definitely not impossible to take no damage. I completed this fight with my character at base level and any hit would kill me. Sucks that I missed out on the special way of doing it though, I ended up only chopping off his head. For the helmet and axe.
I stuck in this boss and decided to try the dlc and it was a wise decision. Got better armors and implants there, I think I will kick his ass this time. Very helpful video thanks!
Actually the fight can be pretty easy against Black Cerberus :
Turn around him on his right (work better on this side i think) and backstab him when he finishes his spinning attack. And you can also make him fall by attacking him with the rushing drone. Basically no hit with the right amount of patience :-)

it's perfectly possible to dodge everything. In the video you just jump Into his slide attack, of course you will take damage. Jump backwards or sideways.
Should you fail to obtain the Black Cerberus set like this, in the following sections a lot of the security forces will also be from Black Cerberus, so you can obtain the armor parts traditionally. Doing it this way, you'll get the whole set in one go though.
On the fight with the level one boss robots you can just rush under his feet and he wont ever use rockets or be able to slash you
And here I am, with the full set in NG++ the hard way. Oh well, at least I loved the freaking game :D
This is why I play these types of games on PS4 and not Xbox, because if I mess up I can always redo it by downloading/overwriting my current save with an previous save file from the cloud and try it again.
You can’t do any save scrubbing with Xbox.

I can confirm that it's not guaranteed that he drops the full set even if you destroy the two tanks. I'm on Ng+ and he dropped only the weapon this time. On ng he dropped the weapon, leg/head/body schematics and not the arms. Im still missing the arm schematics and its godamn frustrating because I can't get the achievement. And yes I targeted his left arm before execution and during fight.
For the people that can't get the arms after you beat the boss you need a security rig at medbay then go back too the boss fight there will be a security door open it after that go to the elevator there a guy will spawn has cerberus armor full or half if you don't see what you want to go back to medbay respawn him
Here's what I think some of you folks' troubles are coming from (not getting the whole set, most of the time it sounds like the arm gear) try beating him by cutting off his right arm I just did that and to my surprise I got the whole set (including MG Judge v2.0). If that doesn't help it may be what some others have said which is that it's random.
I just got full set and v2.0 weapon. all I did was use a one-handed weapon and kept strafing to the left towards his right arm and kept hitting and dodging every opening I got. use the drone to keep knocking him down to create more. you will most likely hit the right arm every time. and make sure you have the P.A.X. shoot both of the white generator things. after you take that out, just finish of the guy use the same method and use the execution on his right arm and you will get both the full set of armor and the v2.0 weapon. really simple.
You can bait his slide and smash if you circle him at about 1 and a half body lengths, I managed to keep him in a slide loop through the whole fight and beat him damage free.
Literally took 6 years of my life doing it, but god damn it I did it!

THX man wish i knew it before great channel . I learned to fight him circling close to him so wont use hes lighting waves but fight these endless exterminators made it realy hard I miss the armour but got one from guards and the lighting axe
Staff forward dash stab and concussive bot charges aimed at his head will stunlock and interrupt him, I killed him after the first Pax spawn. I used Gorgon set and Spitfire 2.0

Just btw it does not have to be the first PAX to destroy the tanks.
My first PAX destroyed one tank and then died (accident I swear), then the guy came to get beat up a little, summoned the second PAX who destroyed the other tank and after killing the guy by cutting his arm off, I got all the 4 schematics + his weapon v2.0

Worst boss in the game, not only is fighting the dude himself a pain in the arse, but also halfway through the fight you have to battle against the second worst boss in the game
The first time I got to the arena where this fight takes place, I ended up fighting like 6-7 guys. I just got pulverized so soon I never got a chance to see what I was fighting xD;
Could you do a video on were all the vital injections are because I can't defeat this boss because I keep running out of vital injections.
I was going to ask the same question. At that same point in the game I have only 3 Vital Injections V3 (and 3 V1), and I think I have been pretty good at fine-combing the areas. I do however also have Implanted Electrodes V2 which gives me free energy, which along with Medi-Voltaic Injection V3 can heal me indefinitely 50 points at a time, if I have patience and am careful.. Not sure I can manage all the switching along with the boss fight though, but that combo is great for farming tech scraps with a large multiplier never needing injection refills.
Fallenxs Xxcxx its easy if u use the pole weapon fr some reason, i fought him with the spitfire rod v2.0 n even tho impact is only medium it seem to trip him up n stall his attacks a bit, i got 3 to 4 actions before i doge away before he does a unblockable push attack
Ok, it is 9 months ago, so possibly you have beaten this boss already, but if not.. possibly this tip will bring you back in the game.
Equip the implant for less endurance costs by evading, a few implants for life and endurance and one for getting more energy by hitting an enemy. If you have it.. equip the implant for more drone damage.
With this setup you just need to hit 1 time, evade back and activate your drone. Continue this until the boss is dead.
The PAX tactic is to check out his steps and evade to his back, so his arms won't slice you.
If you want his weapon and armor, just be cool at the end of the fight.. do 1 attack, *no* drone, evade back, continue until you can slice off his arm.
If you do the tactic with destroying the tanks this fight is done really quick, so you don't need that much healing in this fight.
I beat firebug with your guide will stick with you as a loyal sub

i think the easiest way to kill every enemy including bosses in this game is with the firedevil 2.0 R2,R2,R1 combo, where he does this explosion knockback attack..ceberus and last boss also the weird enemies at the end of this game where a piece of cake this way. also your energy gets filled a lot with that combo for injection
Did you realize that by killing the boss that way you only get helmet body leg and normal weapon?.....but if you kill him by cutting off his weapon arm you will get his boosted weapon and the arm schematic. Obviously you need to do your way also in order getting the full set and the boosted weapon @RPG Division

He's probably the 2nd easiest boss
Dont gotta worry about overpowered attacks even the robot was okay if your familiar with it attacks and getting it so spam shoot missiles was the only tricky part to pay attention while dodging at the same time while the camera aim was cancer but after all that fighting him is a piece of cake just gotta dodge and time attacks at the right moment.
Took me like six tries to get both tanks destroyed before killing Cerberus and annoyingly, I didn't get the v2.0 weapon, which is all I really wanted. Apparently you have to cut off his arm to get the v2, beware!
Finally beat him, (once i got the MK 2 rig lol, walked by it like 15 times XD), and i did it the same way but i got everything BUT the arms lol, wtf, after cutting the arm too XD

When he goes to charge an paralyze you.. Get them free hits in. I only had to fight 2 robots this way.

Just got the armor and weapon on my first try.
As for he game as a whole, almost at the last level to try the walk in the park DLC, its good. Even if its' weird to play the game they its made with guards and counter attacks + blood borne dashing due to some enemies being fast and difficult
I know A different way I usually use the eagle gear from the Creole world DLC and I use a upgraded Mark three MG navigator but I accidentally messed up I didn’t know where to hit So I took off the head
Grab the defense drone schematic, right at the start of this area (from the safe zone, turn right, bear right and go down a slope - schematic's at the bottom there). It's my favourite drone to use, and with +% energy implants you can keep it up all the time you're fighting this guy!

i only ended up with 1 bot any way without this, using legion sword, killed Cerberus quick with back stabs. will remember this tho just gone n+ big regret so started new game.
This boss was super easy for me, i had more problems with the robot. The first time i rushed in and had to fight like him and half the troops was a stupid mistake.

Funny... i just cut off his right arm, got the schematics for the arm and the v2 weapon but the rest of the set is missing while the rest in the comments is bragging about getting everything except for the arms and the v2 weapon? o_o
knowing that if i had the guy shoot the white containers would stop them from spawning would have made this fight soo much easier I fought black Cerberus taking no damage to him several times dieing to the PAX bot I would just stand back using the twin riggged weapon and hit him 2 to 3 times after he did a lung or slide attack
MAKE SURE YOU CUT OFF THE WEAPON ARM OTHERWISE YOU DONT GET THE WHOLE SET!

I just did get the head, legs and chest - no arms and no weapon....
I've done all the steps as you did except the cutting at the end but some people said they still got their sets without cutting also I didn't get mg judge 2.0 just regular

Does left or right matter? Usually with 2-handed weapons or dual, you can cut off either arm to get it

Is there a way to beat him without having the two white containers destroyed? If you kill the large Ed 209 robot without destroying any of the containers, you get to fight cerberus boss for a bit but after a while, he calls another robot in. If you destroy both containers, he will not call robots anymore.

I did this exactly and it didn't give me the arms, it gave me 2 MG judge weapons but neither are 2.0, the new update is screwing things up
I beat him following this, but I got everything except the arms for the set.
mine only shoots lasers not rockets het hit the one tank lik 10 times with the laser and nothing happened....i cant get it to shoot rockets.
