In the area before the first Medbay, where the prompt comes up about pressing L1 to block, if you go over that little ledge there is a bot in there which you can farm for a full set of equipment. It is about building defence as a set however the Weapon is really good to start off with if you want to be a heavy hitter. Each time you defeat him he also drops about 750 scraps (goes up if you have the scrap multiplier going). I've been able to farm all of his parts upto MK2, and I've got my Core Power at 32, currently farming him for more scrap so I can equip the 2 legs and helmet for the full equiped set.

Something I didn't do for ages..... use an implant to increase my HP. Played most of the game with base HP and struggled. Don't know why it didn't occurr to me to increase my HP, this is an action RPG after all :)
Came since this is now on Xbox Pass. Man, i cant believe its only 3 star rating on there. This game is awesome. I actually enjoy it more than dark souls 1&2. I literally just started playing this and I'm kinda confused. I can't figure out why I can't equip all of the armour I have. It says 9/14 core power used and when I try to put armour that consumes 2 it just won't let me until I unequip another
This is probably because you already have that armor equiped. The game shows all armor of that type you have, even if one is already in use. If it has an orangish border on the corners, it's already equiped.
I believe that ducking is not even explained in the tutorial area.. yet that lunging enemy is IN THAT STARTING AREA and he's like maybe third real enemy (ie you can get stuff from like parts) so.. i go along, kill first two easy by mostly mashing attacks.. and then he just lunges and takes out essentially all my health in one go... FROM FULL HEALTH... and seeing as i had just started.. that seems tad unfair.. i get difficulty and "git gud" but i would of liked if that enemy wasn't in an area where i still was getting hang of controls and stuff Also from seeing in the video... body parts... they teach you to lock onto different body parts but problem... I think body parts are the default you lock on to... yet.. game tells you to target other things rather than stick to default lock-on since "you can get rewards" Counter-intuitive i think for a bit starting out.. (Also side note i only recently got game and barely got out of starting place so these tips were nice.. except the fact most of these were said in-game, like crafting... and implants... and combat [albeit bit dumb since said earlier about lock-on] also... most games i think 'area awareness' is obvious)

2:17 One minor correction about DS Bonfires: They aren’t actually “safe havens”. If an enemy follows you to one, the flames will actually go out and not let you use them until the enemy gets far enough away…or you die… Just thought I’d clear that up. Lol. Anyway, thanks for these tips! Got this with PS+ a while ago, but just now trying it out. It’s not bad so far, but the combat does feel very stiff. It also seems to have quite a few similar mechanics to Lords of the Fallen.
After you lock on with R3, use the Right Stick to highlight the body part you want to target(head, torso, leg or arm). The shield icon means the limb is holding a part. Attack that pmlimb and when you build enough energy it will prompt you to hold Square to cut off the limb. When you cut off a loom that holds a new item you will gain the blueprint automatically. When you cut off the same item again you will gain parts. When you have enough parts, craft the item twice for legs and arms, and just once for the head and torso.
I tried this game when it was free for ps+ but I died after getting what I think was a lot of loot and then I rage quit, I am trying the game again but now I actually know things about it

OK so when you craft armor and parts do they auto equip or do you have to equip manually? Because I still have my defense at 0 and my weapon looks like some piston axe shape
You can hit any body part to get enough energy to automatically chop off w/e it is that you're targeting once their HP gets to around 20% or lower, don't follow what he says.
That's simply incorrect. If you're trying to chop off a dude's head for specific headgear you will only be able to do this once you've damaged the head specifically. If you attack the body for most of the damage then switch to the head for the finisher, you will just do a generic kill and get awarded with no pieces of armor. If you don't want gear, just attack where there is no armor (blue). Health doesn't matter. I've fought two guys at once, damaging and killing just one while then using my finisher on the other (untouched) enemy. It will just be the generic finisher, not a limb chopper though. TL:DR attack only the body parts that you want to chop off for gear.
monstergaming personally i think it is..but I'm progressing none the less, slowly tho..still gotta take a day or 2 off like with dark souls or else u go nuts lolll
monstergaming it is harder but that's a good thing. It's strange as it should hard because you can't get help from anyone if you stuck so you have to work it out your self, if you could coop like in dark souls then it would be to easy if that makes sense.

You can quickly close the distance between yourself and an enemy by simultaneously evading towards them and hitting an attack button (x+R1/R2)
