'Sees beginning of video where player is cheating in Survival via Keep Inventory being turned on due to items not flying off of body when killed, using unenchanted Iron Armor with no helmet against a Drowned with a Trident (Which will wreck players in non Diamond Armor, non enchanted Iron Armor)', I can tell you it isn't the 'cheap explicit C++ Game', it isn't the 'Marketplace or Microtransactions' either, thats a lack of player skill/knowledge, can't blame that death on Bedrock Edition. And the cheating kind of makes your argument look bad as well, no offense. Also the Trident placement in the beginning from the tridents already thrown by the Drowned show this was basically staged, further taking away from the argument. I can also say that random damage is not being dealt in the beginning contrary to what I seen in another comment in the video. The player had no air and was suffocating, was smacked by a Drowned with a Trident and then Drowned. No bug there.
Instead of that, what should be focused on if critique is going to be made on Bedrock Edition are some of the negative bugs Bedrock Edition has; or bugs Bedrock Edition has that can make the game too easy. Or negative features, such as healing taking longer on Bedrock Edition compared to Java Edition when done through food/saturation, the lack of quasi-connectivity with Redstone on Bedrock Edition, not being able to build on the Nether Roof on Bedrock Edition, not being able to lock versions of Bedrock Edition or Bedrock Edition Worlds without a Third Party Tool, limited offhand use in Bedrock Edition, etc. UA-camr IBXToyCat's Videos can provide good examples of these. Or going even more indepth with what Java Edition has that Bedrock Edition doesn't that can offer an overall better gameplay experience.
Bedrock Edition isn't worse than nothing either. It has features that can make the game easier to play compared to Java Edition, such as increased drop rates on items, increased damage output from items, generally better optimized by default (You don't need Optifine or the Fabric-Sodium Combo), Controller Support by Default, Large Trident support, 'Big Salmon' as noted by IBXToyCat, etc. It caters more to a casual playerbase and that doesn't make them scrubs. Java Edition has it's perks in itself, such as better mod support, is generally harder to play due to lower drop rates on items and reduced damage output (Which can work for players who want a challenge), hardcore mode, better server support, and in current versions can offer a variation to a world seed when looking at it from Bedrock Edition. Different strokes for different folks basically. I play both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition as they both have different aspects the other doesn't that makes them fun in their own way.
And I don't get the point of comparing PS4 Release Date of Console Legacy Edition to Xbox One Edition, it kind of feels like a hateful or shameful comment for no real justifiable reason.
The impression I get from watching the whole video is 'Java Edition and Bedrock Edition provide the same general level of enjoyment for me in Vanilla, but Bedrock Edition sucks in my opinion due to the features Bedrock Edition is lacking so I'm going to hate on it for a chunk of the video for the features it does offer.'

The problem with Bedrock isn't inherently the store (although, that _can_ be a reason), but it's more regarding the severe technical issues present in Bedrock.
Bedrock tends to have a lot of calculation bugs where the game will just occasionally forget what you're doing, which results in the game "lagging" and causing you to take damage in ways that just don't seem right (such as in the intro). This can also happen when building upward, so you'll sometimes just die of fall damage because the game forgot where you were and assumed you were falling.
Alongside that, Bedrock has a heavy incompatibility issue with technology, where stuff like headphones will just not work with the software, and Mojang will disregard any report. In one example (report MCPE-16588) took Mojang _4 years_ to respond to this, and they labeled it as "Won't Fix". And this is a _technical bug_ with _Bedrock_, not the user's headset.
The technical and gameplay bugs generally cause players to regard Bedrock as "inferior" since a lot of these issues are not present on Java. And considering Mojang will likely take awhile to fix (or never care to fix) bugs present in Bedrock, a lot of people find it more worthwhile to play JE over BE.
As a BE player that been playing more than 8 years I confirm this, I just revisiting the old pocket edition at version 0.12.3 and 1.1.0 (The final pocket edition version), and I very shocked because it's run better than current version that we have. Less buggy, glitchy and run smoothly (I know because it's a old version), and that make me thinking what people behind this game do, why the game are more buggy and glitchy as the update came, also there's some features that remove like zombie breaking door at full moon in hard difficult, mob ai becoming more stupid, and etc. It's sad Microsoft “ruined” this game with ignoring major bugs that community found it, and care more about the marketplace than the community itself. But I still like this game, because it's my childhood and at least better than 90% of mobile games.

bedrock edition just inherently feels sluggish. idk what it really is. it just feels weird to play. no matter how much i play it, it doesnt feel right.
Yeah all the time you feel like something weird is going to happen any moment. You never quite feel safe fro. The game. Maybe its the bugs or some response time thing
Never felt like that to me
@@furnacemanisinmyhouse it's weird. I started on Xbox 360 and ps3, then moved to Java. The move to Java never felt off, and playing on legacy edition still doesn't feel weird. Bedrock is the only version that I literally cannot play
You have vsync on
It's because of the viewmodel for me. It moves way too much. It makes the game feel oversensitive
And, legacy console editions are in C++, they are just really better coded, being designed not for phones originally 👀
Yeah, I played the latest and last 360 edition and it literally feels like regular Minecraft, unlike bedrock which feels sluggish

You can get infinite end items. There's an option to 'reset' the end. So you have to fight the dragon again, but it's a small price to pay for more loot. Plus I think in the later LC editions you can get 4 end gateways, though the process is the same, since you have to respawn the dragon and fight it again to get a new gateway.
Also, even 1 Elytra is enough if you put mending on it.
Ngl playing on bedrock feels more laggy than on java for me
If you using performance mods it's not valid to compare tho

I personally think bedrock feels like a cheap minecraft knockoff. Legacy felt smooth and really nice to control
Did you ever try your use elytra on legacy? It feels very off compared to bedrock & java
@@Rocketcraftall you have to do in legacy is to just go into settings, go into game options, and turn off "flying view rolling"
bedrock feels less solid. that's why it feels weird. your attacks don't feel right, moving doesn't feel right, everything feels wrong because it just doesn't feel as solid as java or legacy console. and i don't mean solid from a design standpoint, i mean it literally feels more disconnected from the world you're playing in - sound effects, proper hit registration, and no input delay are vital for this imo and bedrock simply lacks that feeling.
I mainly play Bedrock Edition and there's so many bugs in Bedrock Edition, that I don't know which is a bug and which is intentional.
The biggest issue with bedrock is that it’s full of experience ruining bugs that kill fun. And the bugs aren’t rare either, you can’t really play it and not see at least one bug
Bedrock has been getting lots of bug fix and content updates so I don't know what your talking about.
Also most bugs in bedrock come from lag. Lag coming from bedrock decreased ram use so higher end PCs may run slower because of the optimization bedrock adds.
You can change this in the video settings by adding more fancy settings and features.
@@furnacemanisinmyhouse Dude none of what you said makes sense at all. Bedrock is crazy buggy, hence why it is called bugrock by many. Also, what kind of logic do you use to think that an "optimization" adds lag? That's not how it works. I've got a powerful PC, and sure bedrock runs smoothly, but it still has tons of bugs that ruin moments. I have played on mobile, pc, switch, and xbox and I can assure you bedrock addition has bugs on all platforms regardless of ram available.
Ah yes Java! The perfect game! Truly a perfect game! Remind me how you all reacted when mojang wanted to fix the nether roof? Ah yes you all was a giant baby about it, oh hows ur guys redstone doing? @realElzie Maybe for you but i and a majority of people i know dont have trouble with bedrock edition as much as you do. I have played for 8 years on various different platforms and never experienced any issues.
@Twothreeone231 are you having a stroke?
as someone that has chosen to play bedrock edition for 7 years now I can agree
I used to love Pocket Edition, it got me into the game but that was before developers started changing it for the sake of being different, from the view bobbing all the way to supporting 3D models that servers used later horribly. before it was more faithful to java and legacy, with interesting mash ups and soul, now it's a cash grab, they don't seem to care about the game but about what kids will buy in it
The latest version of PE i had fun with was 0.16, the UI was perfect for phones and the game felt really nice by itself, after 1.0 the game just started feeling wrong

Nice editing and high quality video!

I dont understand why there are so many features in java but not bedrock. Like why can I only hold a shield and a map in my offhand and why can’t I add banners to a shield? The monsters in bedrock have far too much range as well

yea bedrock is completely terrible. game is so much more poorly optimized, mob ai is just worse most the time and not to mention the amount is bugs and glitches with doing quite LITERALLY anything. I mean seriously, sure porting mobile to console editions mightve taken longer due to different coding languages but wouldve been much better for the players that switched to bedrock. also not to mention some features on legacy console literally dont exist on bedrock. im sure bedrock is hell for the developers to update and manage and to think all this couldve been avoided porting mobile to console
bedrock is good for playing multiplayer with multiple kinds of devices, java is good for modding and customization. the java vs bedrock wars are stupid.
and before someone starts berating me, ive played both and they're both good for what its worth.
i think this video is great but the ending of "if you dont like it get java" really sucked
i used to play bedrock (500 hours atleast) and i now play java and i can tell you java feels, looks and acts better? i cant explain how but minecraft java has so much soul and bedrock really ruined it
like why couldnt they make bedrock more like the legacy console because i enjoyed playing those WAY more than bedrock and i cant explain why (also different programming languages doesnt mean its harder to make mods)
kinda is though, with java, doesn't matter who compiled it and when, you can easily decompile it back and see how stuff works and make a mod loader from that like some people made forge and fabric. But besides the closed off nature of all consoles bar the PC where w10 edition is, C++ is nowhere as easy to decompile.
@@dubl33_27 i said different languages doesnt make mods harder but your point still stands as compilation makes things way harder to make things for
you can still have custom skins on bedrock, but only on pc i believe. you select it in the skins tab. and you can definitely mod bedrock, but its a very very steep quality and quantity drop lol
One of the reasons that bedrock doesn’t have hardcore is that bedrock is buggy and you could lose the world due to a bug!
I absolutely have hundreds of memories playing Minecraft bedrock as well as Java edition. Amazing video!

Extremely good quality, extremely entertaining, extremely underrated. Keep doing what you’re doing! 👊
What's the punch fist emoji doing there? (I dont know 💀)
Mod support is kinda on Bedrock since you have 'addons' which are a lot easier to add to your game. Also skin support is way better on bedrock since you can have up to 64x custom skins, and you have the custom skin creator which is nice.
You can have free addons easily on PC and Phones, but not so easily on Consoles
addons are like the "we have mods at home" kinda thing and most of them look hideous

I can respect your opinion, even if I disagree. For me at least, my issue with Bedrock is just that it *feels* clunkier to play. I'm almost always in Creative Mode, and in Bedrock flying is wayyy slower and the Creative Inventory is much more tedious to navigate IMO. I can see why these issues wouldn't be game breaking for everyone but they're enough that I don't enjoy Bedrock.

the marketplace is.. fine i guess. Like you, I don't like it, it's not for me, but, sure. Only gripe I have with this system is that I always loved to create my own stuff. Paint my own skin, change some textures/make full resource packs, etc. It has always been a huge part of my enjoyment of the game, and I think people experiencing Minecraft for the first time on bedrock are missing out on this
You can create you own stuff normal u can have custom skins how u think they make the skins for market place just go find a tutorial on how to make you resource pack and a skin it's fully supported lmao
0:32 Pretty sure it launched on Android 2.3 Gingerbread (2011), Android 5.0 Lollipop came out in 2014.
Android 5.1.1 Lollipop was actually the last update for my 2013 Galaxy S4, which even back then was high end compared to the iPod Touch 4th Gen running iOS 4 (2010) or the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 running Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich (2012), and I also played Minecraft on. iPod was my first iOS and Galaxy my first Android.
Yea iv played Minecraft sense I was a kid. Iv always played on console never saw a problem with it really especially as we started to get the updates java players got, However now that im older and my creativity with things I want to do is way more im starting to hit walls playing bedrock version of the game. Even recently im getting into more advanced things sutch as building farms etc.. and it sucks because I was learning to make a creeper farm from a video that I found that supposedly worked in bedrock as well. 2hours later I finished it maybe more like an hour but I built it in my survival world so it took a while aand it dident even work sadly. So I figured out it wasent working with my current version of bedrock or whatever for whatever reason but it works fine on java ofc and admitidly I was a bit uppset my creativity was limited just because of what I played on. Luckily im building my first pc relitivly soon I can’t wait
Custom skins are half in the PC version you can import a custom skin just like Java
Minecraft Java edition is java edition Minecraft Bedrock is pocket edition
There's bedrock on pc and console
For my friend group, bedrock is "the version everyone can play" because half of us don't own a proper PC. Which, is great that we can play together at all, but the experience is just kinda lame feeling for everyone. To the PC users, it's not java. And to console players, it's not the legacy versions. The last time someone set up a realm it lasted a whole week before being abandoned for other games. In the end, it's a minecraft none of us really want to play.
I once fell through my nether portal and lost everything
Yo bro Never give up ok. You are going to blow up
I have WAAAAAY more problems that are infuriating.
I don't mind the shop at all. Having a hub to download worlds and skins right inside of minecraft is awesome, but the large majority of stuff on there sucks. Like i'm not paying $5 for a bunch of skins that are literally ripped from skindex and then edited slightly and I'm also not paying $6 for a minigame where you literally shovel poop.
The game is very very VERY slow to play. I bought Nintendo switch edition before bedrock was released so I have that version and bedrock. I can load into 4J studios' version of the game in about 15 seconds where as bedrock edition takes about 1-2 minutes if it's not giving me an error. Normally it won't even work though and will instead tell me that "Signing in failed" or sometimes the game just straight up crashes. Any time it gets stuck on the loading screen (about 30% of the time) and I try and close the game from the switch menu it will tell me "An error has occured" after trying to close the game for about 10 seconds. I also have the PS Vita version of minecraft and it loads faster than my PC with 16GB of ram and a GTX 1660 Super and it's less powerful than an android phone.
It's also just a miserable experience when I actually do get to play it. Sometimes I'll be building a tall structure and randomly die of fall damage, even if I didn't fall a single block. Sometimes I get killed by mobs that are like 5 blocks away from me. Sometimes I die, hit respawn, and then the game crashes. It's not that it's an annoying experience. It's literally a game that runs worse than an earlier version of it, made in 2012. And I would get it if they had just come out with the game, but it has been out for 7 years at this point and rather than fixing things people have bugs with, they decide to make GUI changes that 1. no one asked for. 2. do not behave reliably. and 3. only apply to some menus, while old style guis are used in other menus.
This is literally a game developed by Microsoft. As of writing this they are literally the largest company in the entire world. They have the funds and time to improve this but they just don't.
bedrock is mid but not bad, java is always the best
My issue with bedrock is it wants to be "the Minecraft", replace the well made and cared for Minecraft Console Editions I grew up with, and rebranded the true version as if it was the second place version.
Minecraft Bedrock stomped on my childhood and took the name of the original. At it's core, Bedrock is still the mobile version. It's no longer "Minecraft for your console" it's "Minecraft for your grandma's kindle fire, for your console"
The shop can't be trusted, it's full of stolen low effort content and everything has a price tag. Everything cost Minecraft funny money so you'll always have some leftover, PS4 has it's own exclusive funny money because Microsoft and Sony bs.
All that to say, bedrock tried to replace everything, but it will always be the "ipad kid" Minecraft to me
man you're so lucky to have the og switch edition
Honestly, I play Minecraft bedrock and it’s easy for me, I know some people seem hard for Bedrock and I don’t blame them, but sometimes there’s people like me, that doesn’t bother. I’ve been playing Minecraft since I was 6, and I seen it change, from popular, to downfall. Even tho people say that Minecraft now is boring, which is true, but for me, it’s fun! Especially when you have Addons.
Bedrock DOES have skins, at least on Windows 10. And, while the modding scene isn't that expansive due to the more optimised and uptight code being a little harder to modify, it IS possible to download world and add-ons. It's just that a) why give away something for free when you can monetise it and b) everybody hates Bedrock, so why not just mod for Java?
A lot of the more game-breaking bugs have been fixed (at least in the Windows 10 version, Xbox One edition is still an absolute jungle), so at worst, there are some slow ui rendering issues at present. I've experienced similar things on Java, though, with the game taking ages to generate shipwreck loot.
I've experienced the fall damage glitch once. Generally, I think Bedrock is probably better as a game, with the whole DLC system and the really simple and intuitive friend and multiplayer setup, but as far as a Minecraft experience, in its entirety, in and of itself, Java is superior. Bedrock also doesn't have some of the great meta features Java has, such as being able to revert to old versions and proper archiving. But I still see why it's the version Microsoft wants to port; overall, it's simpler, and moreso resembles other titles like (eg Roblox).
Personally I prefer Java, but (shocking, I know) I don't have to ruin other people's fun to validate my own experience.
Good video. I think a big reason why people are upset with Bedrock is that it is presented as a replacement for Java, which either threatens people's nostalgia or forces players into the microtransactions ecosystem.

It’s just Minecraft but even if you think there not gona do it Microsoft will one day stop supporting Java because it’s just not worth it for them. Just like the stoped supporting legacy edition. I think it’s fate is already sealed but if there’s any hope it’s to get people to play Java not bedrock.
If they're ever gonna stop supporting Java (which isn't that likely as there's still a lot of players playing that version, even if not the majority) it would just be the best thing to happen to the modded community as it would mean modders don't have to worry about version chasing anymore and concentrate on making actual cool mods. And all the future version would probably just be ported to Java by some modders anyway.
