I was going to comment about this. Seemed to cheap to be snapon. The drawers did NOT open smooth and it was very uneven on the face. I know because I have the same one and it sucks. It's no where near as nice as my crafstman toolboxes which are the same price
This was really very interesting, fascinating, and cool to watch. Jerry is AWESOME! The amount of thought and care he has for the cars he works on is incredible. Like how careful he is as to not show any "witness" marks on bolts and nuts. It's a whole different world! These car owners are very fortunate to have Jerry as their car's caretaker. Thank you for sharing!
My favorite thing about my Saturday mornings are watching these videos man! I get a lot of ideas from your channel and to be honest your channel has also cost me money cause I see some stuff and say “I must have that!” 😆
Takes me back to my days at Benz. We had our built in boxes and carts as well. You have to have a different mindset when working on some of the more expensive units. Fun days for sure!
Hemostat. Also called a hemostatic clamp; arterial forceps. Anytime you get stitches, always ask the doctor if the hemostats he is using are single use. They always are these days, so ask to take them home with you since they are going to be thrown away anyway. Very handy.
That’s how dad got his pair. Funny/stupid story also. I grew up around a bunch of country crazy boys. One game they used to play they called How Many Clicks? They’d pick a part of their body and whoever could click closed the hemostats the most would win. Someone did 3 clicks on their eyelid apparently. I wasn’t dumb enough to play.
Great tour with a great guy that was interesting and really cares what he does and uses all brands of tools not just 150k of Snapon or Mac or whatever. Superb.
Jerry is a true technician! Love the mix of practical , careful and thoughtful organization. You can go far with this aproach. Well done! And to every tradesman out there, remember to use eneloop (or your favorite brand of rechargeable ni-mh) AA and AAA batteries ,I personaly left lead acid batteries in my Snap-on torque-angle wrench and destroyed it😢. Thanks again for another great tour!
@ there is an adjustment period for sure. But at the end of the day, cars are still nuts and bolts for the most part. Just with much more plastic and carbon fiber. My advice for a tech wanting to get into the European car market. Start with a brand. Benz BMW etc. Buy a beater car. Drive it. Get to know it. Work on it. Scan it. Research it etc. Get to know the product and how the Europeans do things. And go from there. Oh, and really really really really get used to looking at wiring diagrams. Godspeed.
Awesome tour!!! Jerry seems like a straight up guy, I appreciate his attention to detail and honesty. Also a big shout out to Dusty for his commitment to the channel. He spent more time in the air than he did in VA. ✊🏽
Another awesome tool box tour. As a Porcshe technician was cool to see a lot of similarities and quite a few big differences in work , tool environment. 😀
As soon as I saw a new upload and it showed that it was over an hour, I cleared my evening and settled well in for this one! Classic length Tool box Tours! Keep them coming please!! Best, Sam.
This guy is clearly built different. By necessity he is anal and precise. But not pretentious, evidenced by his use and remarks on harbor freight. As much as I enjoyed his collection I was more interested to hear about the ins and outs of Ferrari. Fantastic episode, I wish this guy the best.
Very nice Jerry has the patience of a saint if I ever had to deal with people that can afford those cars I would not be doing it long beautiful set up 👍😎👍
He mentioned that Snap-On flank drive mars the finish on the bolt. However, you can get Snap-On wrenches without the biting edges for use on collectible cars, aviation etc. They have different options. As a retired technician I would never get near a nice car with a Pittsburg wrench-I've tried them and the tolerances are terrible and can round nut edges. I've also had them snap in two without warning. I've tried every tool brand (and own most) and will only trust Snap-On, Mac, Proto, Hazet or Wright with heavy daily use on important things. Icon and Gearwrench aren't bad for the money.
We do have a ton of special tools! We have a dedicated room full of them that I couldn’t show. One that comes to mind is the drive belt tool for 488 models.
Hats off to the men who actually drive the cars for their intended purpose. I love and appreciate the "Art" but i would be that guy having to get my rotors replaced.
Very cool, loved this tour! Seems like a great guy, and I really relate to his story. I'm more keen on Mazda and Honda, but I guess I wouldn't be opposed to working for an ultra luxury brand if ever offered the chance (though I'm more of a Porsche gal, tbh!) Meanwhile, it's been a bit over a decade since I've last been in the auto field professionally. While I've continued to do it as a hobby through that time, I'm finally considering getting back in to the professional side of things. I'm anxious for a multitude of reasons tbh, but regarding tools, I really appreciate the ideas to add to my otherwise somewhat basic collection.
Also kind of sad to hear that even this work is flat rate. I'm hoping I can find hourly work here in Detroit. As he said, it's not a super high volume locale, and even if it was, I don't want to have to be in a competitive environment for that gravy work. As well, I don't like having to take shortcuts at the potential expense of my quality of work. I like being (relatively) slow and methodical.
Hey! Don’t let flat rate discourage you! Plenty of entry level positions that start hourly and progress to flat rate. One thing that comes to mind is Porsche’s apprenticeship program that is available at some of the dealers. Give it a shot! Also plenty of independent shops that specialize in euro and I am sure could use good people. Good luck!
Today's episode, tool whisperer shows an all around multi brand tool set-up from your Dollarama like to S.O things. Cool dude working on some sometimes driven delicate motoring art
Super cool seeing a ferrari tech on! I was surprised that they had them on hourly. Wonder how the labor times are. Also +1 on the redbacks! I usually put redwing insoles in them, but those boots last forever. The bottoms still look new after 4 or 5 years of my pigeon toed ass 😂
The lifts are made by Ravaglioli. I have one in my house, mine is 7000lb, 72" high. They still make them and support them. They are about 2000lbs. 220v single phase
Being flat rate I'm wondering if being careful of what your doing (taking precautions of damaging parts) as you should to every vehicle lol. Would the book time reflect or would the pay?
No, we don’t get extra time for being careful, It’s already expected. To be honest it becomes second nature, the tedious, meticulous work ethic is just honed and practiced everyday to the point that you can still get jobs done fast and still have a outstanding care when servicing the car. Although we do get paid as luxury techs so of course it helps.
soldering lowers resistance so it would actually be better for the modules, crimping the wire would cause even higher resistance, i think what he tried to explain was that they replace the whole harness, because if the modules are actually that sensitive crimping wouldnt be a solution either, what the module would see is a slight drop in voltage! and that would be like from 12 to 11.9999999 which is to not possible for the module to sense as voltage isnt stable
Ferrari allowing their techs to play Xbox when they're slow is wild. If I was playing games while it was dead I'd get fired for not being "productive". I love when manufacturers take care of their employees, might have to start looking into working on exotics.
It’s not often, even during our slow season. But the common micro managing isn’t really the vibe here. We are more of a small family owned shop kinda vibe.
I can't wear redback, redwing, Wolverine, carolina for some reason they either hurt my feet or make my feet smell, so i always wear timberland pro series boots. But it would be nice to have slip ons
I’m no longer in VA as this video was taken 2 weeks ago and I was only there for a day. I will be back though! Shoot me a message on instagram @toolboxtours. I’d love to see what your setup looks like.
Keep a box of latex gloves and use a finger to make a little condom for the RBRT hex sockets. You can do that or use a ziplock bag for some of the bigger stuff. Really comes in handy for bikes with super soft aluminum and/or cosmetic fasteners. No more marring.
Nice work place sad that ass big as they are and expensive they still use flat rate for there mechanics that get these tool that can't scratch bolts etc mind blowing
15:00 That's crazy how little tech support these techs have from Ferrari. Imagine having to call Maranello for tech support on a car and hope the guy on the other end speaks English well.
It was awesome having you over, Thanks for coming!
I had a blast! Thank you so much.
have you worked on an F40, F50, or Enzo?
Didn't you reply to a comment on Dave's auto center thought I saw your pic yesterday on an older video. Weird
@@pkdude5334 No he hasn't. Those cars go to A-techs/shop foreman as those are the gravy cars.
Crazy lmao, this just popped in my feed. Badass
If you think im gonna watch 1 hour video of tools you are goddam right
Lol same
Are you sure about that? That seemed like 15 minutes, lol.
Haha! I’m glad you guys like these
@ToolBoxTour I turn 68 in exactly one mouth. I do not need any more tools than I have, but there's nothing wrong with looking at someone else's. 😁
😂
That was incredible that he took a moment to give some insight on the job, and what makes Ferraris so unique. Thanks Jerry!
Love the US General gray five drawer cart disguised as a Snap on cart. Very impressive collection. Thanks for sharing!!!
I was going to comment about this. Seemed to cheap to be snapon. The drawers did NOT open smooth and it was very uneven on the face. I know because I have the same one and it sucks. It's no where near as nice as my crafstman toolboxes which are the same price
Like putting a Ferrari badge on a Dodge lol
This was really very interesting, fascinating, and cool to watch. Jerry is AWESOME! The amount of thought and care he has for the cars he works on is incredible. Couldn’t have said it better. Thanks for sticking around
Ayoooo I remember when Jerry was an apprentice/line tech at Honda of Chantilly! Mad respect man good to see you doing well
My favorite thing about my Saturday mornings are watching these videos man! I get a lot of ideas from your channel and to be honest your channel has also cost me money cause I see some stuff and say “I must have that!” 😆
Haha I’m glad I can make your Saturday mornings a little enjoyable
Takes me back to my days at Benz. We had our built in boxes and carts as well. You have to have a different mindset when working on some of the more expensive units. Fun days for sure!

Hell yes now you just need a Lamborghini tech tool box tour to complete the big 3 super car manufacturers
Yes plz 🙏
Hopefully one day!
Hemostat. Also called a hemostatic clamp; arterial forceps.
Anytime you get stitches, always ask the doctor if the hemostats he is using are single use. They always are these days, so ask to take them home with you since they are going to be thrown away anyway. Very handy.
Good to know! My wife is an OR nurse. I’ll have to see if she can bring some home 😅
Dad always had a pair in garage
That’s how dad got his pair. Funny/stupid story also. I grew up around a bunch of country crazy boys. One game they used to play they called How Many Clicks? Good tip 👍
Best video till the date. Great job both of you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a great guy who is still humble even at this level. Thanks so much for sharing!
The Honda stuff hits home for me.
Honda is awesome! Doing b and k swaps on old tin cans is a different vibe!
Guy drives a Tundra and rides an 848. This guy has taste! 👌 His setup is really nice. I like the color of his box. My Tundra is the same color, too.
Dude I love this you do such a great job I look forward to this all week
Ur gonna be huge bro I can feel it
I appreciate that!
Dude coulda flexed all show and ruined the video, but his modesty and humility were more impressive than the collection - nice work
As an exotic technician myself, who started with Honda as well, this guy is spot on with most things he has said in this video. Genuine guy.
How hard was it to transition?
@ there is an adjustment period for sure. But at the end of the day, cars are still nuts and bolts for the most part. Just with much more plastic and carbon fiber. Yeah that trip was wayyyy too tight. I wish it wasn’t rushed but I’m glad I made it.
Another awesome tool box tour. As a Porcshe technician was cool to see a lot of similarities and quite a few big differences in work , tool environment. 😀
Glad you enjoyed it! If you ever want to show off your setup, hit me up! I haven’t been to a Porsche dealer yet.
@@ToolBoxTour That would require some international traveling though. im over the 49th parallel. 😃

Thank you both I'm impressed!
Great toolbox tour
Glad you enjoyed it Jason!
He has his personnal tools in many places !! ( His epiq, his cart plus the shop storage modules ! )
@ tool box tours doing gods work man love the videos! I look forward to your uploads.
🤘I appreciate you tuning in
Gotta love the tool info while filming. I got several tools on my wish list just from watching your videos
That's awesome!
What a great tour of this guys workplace and tools!
Glad you liked it!
5:10 I missed that first watch. Was going to ask, then saw it featured . Very interesting tool !!
Yeah super cool!

not every rich person is an a-hole
Nice, this is the first time seeing a Ferrari tech in the wild they’re very elusive ;]
Another awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another awesome toolbox tour!
Thanks!!
My Ferrari came from Ferrari of DC. It’s cool seeing the shop, cool video!
That’s awesome! Thanks for watching!
No better end to a week than a 1 hour video. The long ones are my favorite. 👍👍👍
Glad you like them!
Great episode! I saw the people in the robotics lab at NASA using harbor freight too.
Good morning Brother.
2nd
Fantastic start to a Saturday.
🙂 Sit back and relax and enjoy!
What a cool guy 😎
Nice setup
Would be cool to get a tool box tour with mancobra if times can line up. Love seeing what all these guys use and seeing what I can add to my box
This week’s video was amazing. The tool setup that guy has is insane, and expensive too I bet.
Glad you liked it!

Great inside look video. It’s nice to be able to take a look behind the curtain sometimes especially in the Ferrari Arena.
Couldn't agree more!
Epic video!
thats awesome im glad he told us he was self taught!!!
This was interesting, thanks! A few things stuck out, no manual or procedures. And no super expensive specialized tools like other supercar vendors.
We do have a ton of special tools! We have a dedicated room full of them that I couldn’t show. One that comes to mind is the drive belt tool for 488 models.
Aeswave test leads kit. Those are nice. Used it at school.

Yeah! Nothing wrong with putting some art through its paces.
Sweet get to look at tools when I wait for the part guy to bring me stuff
Winning!
What an interesting guy 👨🔧. I added a few more tools to my wish list. Compression tester and timing light
Sweet! - I like your new picture 👍
@@ToolBoxTour thanks bro

Those lifts might be produced by Corghi.
We had some of them where i did my apprenticeship.
Good to know!
Ravaglioli is the manufacturer of these lifts in particular. They do look similar to most scissor lifts though.
Insane tech here! What a pro.
Bro got the box for sale on marketplace so hopefully he’s keeping it moving 💯💯💯
If anyone is interested, hit me up. All this box does is gather dust, and I already have a home setup so no need for it!
Ferrari of Washington (Sterling, VA)!! La scuderia più bella del mondo!!!

Whats the name or part number of the magnetic bars in the hutch? I've got an Epiq hutch and I like that a lot, thanks, and great video!
The magnetic bars that hold my long hex/torx sockets are from harbor freight.
Man I would’ve pulled that epic and made it my daily driver!
Very surprising to see this video in my recommended, because I'm Jerry's Snapon Dealer!
😅 now you can see what he needs to buy off your truck!
Fancy meeting you here 😅lol

I would love to see ZK MasterTech on this channel!
Maybe one day!
the snapon decal on the harbor freight box lol... absolutely nothing wrong with a us general box, but why put that decal on lol
thumbs up for Rotary lifts

I thought all exotic techs were weird like the previous one. But this guy seems normal
Where is that 3 tier service cart from at 31:13?
I wasn’t able to pin point this one. Maybe Jerry can chime in on that one.
Generic AV cart that I had lying around.
We had that brand built in box at Benz
Nice work place sad that ass big as they are and expensive they still use flat rate for there mechanics that get these tool that can't scratch bolts etc mind blowing
Yeah it’s tough. But it’s something that’s expected when going in
It would be interesting to see what Lambo is like from the support side after this.
I like that jacket! Where can I get one?
Step 1 - get job at Ferrari 😅
Bricking a Ferrari is wild
Great toolbox tour. Where can I find the Ferrari Tech uniform?
I believe you can only get the uniform once you are working at a dealer.
Isn’t that a harbor freight cart? Didn’t know they put snap on logo lol
I thought I'd see some Italian brands in this toolbox 😝

Cool! Hit me up on instagram @toolboxtours. I’d love to see your setup 👍
You must be in Richmond. Should have came down here to Tidewater. Could have showed you marine diesel field service truck and shop.
Great job.
Nova most likely. only place I can think where there is a Ferrari and Maserati that are connected is that dealer by dulles town center.
