My late grandfather was a Chrysler dealer mechanic for 30 years. He made all sorts of accessory, head, and belt tools by taking regular or angled wrenches and either cutting them off or using a torch to distort them and then re-tempering them under a milder flame. Not to mention a bunch of stubby wrenches. I think I also inherited a set of antique Snap-On open end offset sockets too.
Me at 3:50: "Performance Tools?? Oh, no." Me at the end of the video: "Huh, that was actually a pretty good showing by Performance Tools." Project Farm's testing shows us that just as a single brand doesn't have a monopoly on high-performance tools, a single brand also isn't bad across the board. I've learned so much from watching this channel, and I'm very appreciative of the thorough testing and all the compiled information.
@Williamxmr I have too but I keep finding myself with no choice and then they somehow have some crazy tool nobody else has in stock and it totally works. I needed a slide hammer and of course there it is. Worked like a charm. And then again I buy a ratchet that breaks before I even use it...
Did you read my mind! I've been trying to do my own "research" into these. But nothing compares to the real world test&results over here. So thanks. And please keep testing tools we need in our lives. Gone are the days we just buy whatever is near or randomly advertised or just cheap with a lot of promises.
I desperately need a new tool cart for work but I've been afraid to waste that much money not knowing what is worth it and what isn't. I would definitely be interested in a video on tool carts
@The_R-n-I_Guy I don't know how much room you have but menards has a 36" Masterforce tool box that are built really well. They have the lift latch system which in my opinion is the best. If you don't need all that space, the us general 5 drawer is a fantastic choice. I'm curious how they all compare to each other because I'll be purchasing in a couple months.
I always look forward to your latest videos and being able to revisit your past videos. I think you provide some of the best content on UA-cam. Please keep up the great work.

As a professional automotive technician I purchased my serpentine belt tool from Gearwrench decades ago from Sears. I did not know of any fellow technician who purchased this tool from Snap On. Primarily we all used either the square drive or the socket drive and never used the crowfoot ever. I think the Gearwrench brand will be a great purchase due to price, availability and easy access to warranty if ever needed which is highly unlikely.

Yes! I keep one in my car. Makes the change so handy! Also found a 12-point socket makes it easier than a 6-point to get the right angle needed. The crow foot wasn't as reliable.

I purchased the Gooloo4000 when your first video dropped about the jumpstarters. Its been used plenty of times over the years including dumptrucks, excavator, diesel trucks, etc. Someone on my jobsite needed a jump last week. The jumpstarter was in a tailgate compartment for about 4 months just getting soaked in rainwater. The compartment was literally half filled with water... The Gooloo still worked. What a great product.
The Gooloo has a silly name, but man, does it kick butt every time. The starter motor does some pretty high RPMs compared to the lead acid car battery.
I had the realization that you have an infinite rating of enthusiasm! I have no idea how you manage to recite all of the observational data with such energy! Keep up the great effort to bring such awesome insights and data-driven info on s many practical things!!!
I appreciate the lack of sponsorship but I feel like you should at least have a Patreon or something. You provide a high value product and I am sure people would like to support your work directly.
This is one of those tools that I'm glad I now know exists. Thankfully, our engine bays aren't too bad, and the belts are pretty easy, but this is good to know about. I'm glad I wear a medium glove size, as smaller hands come in handy for awkwardly placed components and bolts.
My father was a genius mechanic/gear head. He learned how to work on planes while he served under Claire Lee Chennault in the American Volunteer Group. Then he went into the Marine Corps and was setting up the airfield ops on the islands all the way across the Pacific. When working on aircraft engines, mostly old WWII stuff, he would cut a wrench in half and then weld it together at the angle he needed. Inevitably the wrench or tool would finally break. So he would send me to Sears with the tool, a Craftsman, and get the tool replaced. The manager, at the local Sears, collected all of my fathers broken tools. He got a big kick out of them. "What was this used for? What kind of plane?"
Back in 2013 the tool truck that comes to my shop sold me the Gearwrench serpentine belt tool. It still is going strong and an absolute time saver. Love the video! Glad you have discovered this tool. It really is amazing for belts.
I will be putting this on my wish list😊 could you maybe do a review on cheap borescope cameras that plug into your phone I just recently bought a turbocharged air-cooled VW engine and use my buddies little camera and it was helpful in diagnosing bad cylinder rings . powerbuilt tools are awesome, I've been using the same set since I was 17 I'm 42 now I use em everyday
The ABN seems like a really solid performer. I have owned the cheapo Pittsburgh for about 8 years, its bent but not broke. 100% my fault for using it to pry. I "upgraded" to the Icon this past summer but have not used it yet. After watching this video I'm glad they have a lifetime warranty. Im not a professional mechanic, it's just a hobby of mine.
As always an information packed and extremely useful video. You have an amazing skill for translating what a tool would be used for in the real world, into hard data that can be tested and analyzed objectively
Suggested video - wireless or bluetooth water sensors/alarms - These are placed under sinks, in basements and bathroom floors or any place you want to detect water pooling right away to stop the leak and prevent damages! really important if you have a septic tank or a water main that can backup and flood your finished basement! These can save you a lot of money! test prices, features, free or paid subscription, how they deliver messages text/email or both or app? loudness of the alarm, battery life/drain and how quickly/sensitive it is!
Wow, the ABN is out of stock already, this video must have convinced a lot of people to buy it! I actually haven't come these tools and was looking at long ratcheting wrenches but I like the other use cases these products offer. Thanks for the review!
I don’t buy a product unless you’ve test it! My yard hoses, tools, power tools…etc. you have saved me so much money and time and aggravation. Thank you!
I'm liking the chisel idea. Had been pondering testing router bits but more niche and the difficulty of controlling rotational and feed rate speed.... Chisels though way more folks are going to be using a chisel!
Anytime I plan to buy anything I always check project farm first and use your recommendations. Years ago we looked at consumer reports but these reviews are much more thorough than anything they ever did. Great work!
Millions of people, which is more than a "few", own at least one vehicle. Almost all vehicles have serpentine belts. All vehicles will have bolts that are difficult to access. If this video's information is not useful to you, then you are the minority and I'd wonder what you are even doing on his channel.
I can't believe that the Pittsburgh beat the ICON! Some people at HF are saying ugh, oh right now! This channel is one of my favorites. Thank you Todd.
I make a point to watch all of your videos all the way to the end. I very much appreciate the care you put into your test methodologies, and also your camera work. I really appreciate the summary at the end, and recommendations. Thank you.
Wow, what timing! I just replaced my intake manifold gasket on my 87 Cherokee yesterday. Fortunately all the bolts are easy to access! I look forward to next week's video!
I am continually impressed with your candor and choices for your reviews! You still seem to get genuine enjoyment doing what you do and that is what makes your content enjoyable for us, thanks so much!
I have a 2007 5.9 Cummins / Ram truck. I purchased a Harbor Freight tension tool. It broke the first time I used it. The spot weld cracked and the 3/8” socket adapter came out of the lever bar. I flagged down a Snap-On dealer and purchased a Lisle 590000 ratcheting tension too. It worked flawlessly and was very easy to use. I highly recommend this Lisle tool. BK
So glad you’re here another year Todd! Thanks for everything you do. It’s not easy taking the route you are but your subscribers appreciate it! How about transfer pump comparison as an idea?

I had the realization that you have an infinite rating of enthusiasm! I have no idea how you manage to recite all of the observational data with such energy! Keep up the great effort to bring such awesome insights and data-driven info on s many practical things!!!
Wow, thank you!
I appreciate the lack of sponsorship but I feel like you should at least have a Patreon or something. You provide a high value product and I am sure people would like to support your work directly.
I do have Patreon and channel supporters. Thanks!
At no point in my life will I ever need this. Despite that I'm here for this! Lets go!!!
Thank you very much! This means a lot to me!
BRUH, THIS IS WHY..
. YOU'VE NEVA BEEN LAID 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭😭😭🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴
@obummamumma978 honestly that's never an issue when your mom is in town
I think that manager was being nice to you.
Cutting a wrench in half should have voided the warranty.
@@shawbros Oh no doubt. He loved getting them and finding out what they were for.
@@shawbros Real Craftsman hand tools were guaranteed forever if they broke for any reason.
@@RealBLAlley
Do you have the original (and complete) wording of the Craftsman warranty?
It sounds like no lawyers were involved in these interactions just a good store rep standing behind his products.
Back in 2013 the tool truck that comes to my shop sold me the Gearwrench serpentine belt tool. It still is going strong and an absolute time saver. Love the video! Glad you have discovered this tool. It really is amazing for belts.
Thanks for being who you are. There is too many willing to sell their opinions, no pride and never taught honesty is everything.
Thank you very much!
I’m a simple man, I see project farm and watch.
Thank you very much! This means a lot to me!
BRUH, THIS IS WHY..
. YOU'VE NEVA BEEN LAID 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭😭😭🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴
I watch, I buy (if not sold out 20 min after the video comes out. So kind of now)
Why does some feel the need to make this comment on every UA-cam video. All of them.
@@obummamumma978 lmfao ain't it
Thanks for your videos!
You are welcome!
Thanks for the video idea!
Straight to the point, no useless talk, fair & unbiased testing, extremely useful info = 1 awesome channel called Project Farm
Thanks, I appreciate that!
Thank you ❤
You're welcome!
Best reviewer on the tube! Happy Sunday sir and great vid as usual!
Thank you very much! This means a lot to me, and I wish you a Happy Sunday too!
Oh, some of these are really thin due to the access they require, while others have a silly littke offset
I hope some of these get tested too 🤞
Great point!
As usual, some eye opening results! THIS is why I go to your videos before buying stuff. Keep up the great work!
As always an information packed and extremely useful video. You have an amazing skill for translating what a tool would be used for in the real world, into hard data that can be tested and analyzed objectively
Thanks!
Best part of sunday project farm
Thank you very much!
Another amazing review!! Looks like you were black flagged by Matco Tools, they are scared of selling you tools. 🤪🤣🤣
Thanks for the video idea!
Wow, the ABN is out of stock already, this video must have convinced a lot of people to buy it! I actually haven't come these tools and was looking at long ratcheting wrenches but I like the other use cases these products offer. Thanks for the review!
You're welcome!
I don’t buy a product unless you’ve test it!
My yard hoses, tools, power tools…etc.
you have saved me so much money and time and aggravation. Thank you!
Wow, thanks for sharing!
I learned something new!
Awesome! Thank you!
Sunday highlights: Project Farm!
Could you test chisels?
Thank you for the video idea!
Wood chisels, or cold chisels?
I'm liking the chisel idea. Had been pondering testing router bits but more niche and the difficulty of controlling rotational and feed rate speed.... Chisels though way more folks are going to be using a chisel!
Needed Tool!!
Absolutely!
I bought one of those tools years ago and never regretted it. Very helpful. Thanks for this video.
You are welcome! Thanks for the feedback.
Anytime I plan to buy anything I always check project farm first and use your recommendations. Years ago we looked at consumer reports but these reviews are much more thorough than anything they ever did. Great work!
Thanks for sharing!
THAT'S WHY YOUR THE BEST SIR 3.41 MILLION SUB EXPLAINS EVERYTHING.👍
Thanks!
I'm glad you tested something so niche that helps only a few people, fun stuff.
Millions of people, which is more than a "few", own at least one vehicle. Almost all vehicles have serpentine belts. All vehicles will have bolts that are difficult to access. If this video's information is not useful to you, then you are the minority and I'd wonder what you are even doing on his channel.
@@ecaryn. I was serious. I'm glad he did it. Not everyone is a troll.
I am so sick of "Made in China" and "Made in Taiwan". Hoping that we can see manufacturing move back to USA.
Thanks for sharing!
I Can't Thank You Enough For Your Hard Work On These Videos, You're The Best & Honest Reviewer On You Tube Planet..
Thanks and you are welcome!
Thank you.
Geat testing, PF!
You're a man true to your word...no sponsorships!
Thank you!
BK
Thanks for sharing.
So glad you’re here another year Todd! Thanks for everything you do. It’s not easy taking the route you are but your subscribers appreciate it!
How about transfer pump comparison as an idea?
Thanks! Thanks for the video idea.
Todd, you continue to provide great content and continue not to succumb to monetary sponsorship. You're a rare person in today's world when it seems like everything from politics to business and most things in between has become monetized.
Your unselfish rules of conduct have resulted in such a great resource for the rest of us. And great analytical testing methods to yield results that actually mean something.
Thank you for your service, both past and present!
Video Sugestion:
Anti-fog car windows treatment, I had to buy one recently and I could not find one video of yours made on it recently, you are our best source, keep it going!
Thanks, will do! Thanks for the video idea.
And that's why I don't miss an episode. Great work as always and thank you for all you do for the community!
Thanks and you are welcome!
Just picked up a gen 2 Tacoma. Took serpentine off to check pulleys and thought, "There's gotta be a tool for this."
ABN sold out. Added to wishlist.
BTW, I agree with others. Thanks for being our modern-day Consumer Report.
Looking forward to the next video.
Best product review channel, HANDS DOWN.
The fact you don't take free product puts you in a class by itself.
Thanks!
I love this channel so much, I really wouldn't have expected 3 of them being way more durable than the rest
I appreciate your insight & integrity. You’re the more detailed Consumer Reports by purchasing all the products & not taking any sponsorship or freebies.
Thanks for the feedback!
Im truly greateful to have found your channel, Todd!
You have saved us all so much time, money and disappointments.
Thank you very much indeed, that you are doing what you are doing!
Glad to help!
Always a thorough and honest I really enjoy all your tests and comparisons, I think the fact my wife hates your voice actually adds to the enjoyment. Thank you and keep up the good work.
My pleasure!
Unfortunately the ABN is already out of stock. A tool like this is invaluable for me. I'll have to try 2nd place.
Great video as always Todd!
How about best electric snow throwers for next winter?!
Often we get dustings and something like that would beat a shovel..
I've been watching you for a very long time. I just wanna say thank you for the quality content you provide to the masses.😃
You are welcome! Thanks for being a long time viewer!
Went to make my own tool, be right back...
Thanks for the time and effort 👑👑👑
Great video as usual. We're all blessed to have someone unbiased like you lighting the way with all these expensive tool tests!
Thank you!
Thanks, Todd. Yet another great review video.
Glad you enjoyed it
