He really doesn't have much to remember. As an experienced E drummer myself I can attest to the fact that if you do this on a regular basis, it's not difficult remembering what each pad will trigger for each song. I've performed highly elaborate and sophisticated pieces such as Jan Hammer's "Oh Yeah" and "Time is Free" on pads, even playing a 144 note MiniMoog solo on ONE pad (Alternate Mode DrumKat) with pitch bend via pedal and note hold via breath controller. So, just sayin' - he doesn't have it too tough and he's not just triggering sound fx - not at all. I DO love his laptop setup with a backup! Great rig he has.
Imagine him mixing up the hi hat pedal and the konfetti canon what ever pedal so he hits that thing completly random at some point in the show haha xD...
Diego González live versions of pop music are surprisingly pretty dope. I went to an Ariana Grande concert last year and the drummer killed it. It was basically a completely different version from what you hear in the record. Much better live imo.
Actually is not that much, and a lot of cymbals are there so he don't have to turn entirely around to reach them. It's not a minimalistic set but there's everything he uses.
The only opinion that matters in a professional setting is that of the artist/musical director. Of course we all have our own opinions - however valueless they may be.
You have to remember that the tour contains songs that have all the different sounds by default. You either can add the drums via a playback, or you play them live. When you play them live, well this is how it looks like in order to get it right. That's why her live shows sound so amazing. What you consider being "too much" is relative. Too much for what? You can't play the show this way, by using a standard kit.
We worked with Brandon when he subbed for Miley, the nicest most humble guy and a great player! People should understand what it takes to do these gigs, the playing is only a small part of it, attitude and being a solid player is why he’s been with Shakira for over a decade!

I'm a guitarist I play metal I thought my rig was complicated
Tremendo set!
La chacarera final me encantó!
Why would he need a double pedal for that kind of music?
Why not?
@@da5e usually double bass beats are a signature thing for metal you know?
@@aliss7128 Double pedals are used for a lot more than just hammering sixteenths, man .
Diego González live versions of pop music are surprisingly pretty dope. I went to an Ariana Grande concert last year and the drummer killed it. It was basically a completely different version from what you hear in the record. Much better live imo.
Nope. It was popularized by german metal, but existed a long time before.
I don't know how to play the drums but you are my hero Brendan
"really complex patterns" on a shakira song ?:D
they might do a cover of something like bleed, you never know :P xD
yes, why does that surprise you?
how are your latin chops? how are your tribal polyrhythmic patterns?
If you could play latin then you wouldn't even ask that silly sarcastic question
Clearly never heard shakira
This honestly seems like entirely too much imo
Actually is not that much, and a lot of cymbals are there so he don't have to turn entirely around to reach them. It's not a minimalistic set but there's everything he uses.
Guido Rodríguez actually, in my opinion it is too much. That's my opinion. Which is why I said that in the first place.
@@WilliamEdwardJacob Sorry, didn't meant to hurt your ego
The only opinion that matters in a professional setting is that of the artist/musical director. Of course we all have our own opinions - however valueless they may be.
You have to remember that the tour contains songs that have all the different sounds by default. You either can add the drums via a playback, or you play them live. When you play them live, well this is how it looks like in order to get it right. That's why her live shows sound so amazing.
What you consider being "too much" is relative. Too much for what? You can't play the show this way, by using a standard kit.
Drum shop: What drums would you like sir?
Drummer: yes!
Chingon..no other word to describe.
Holy crap, what a setup!
Awesome setup, and an awesome Drummer 🤟. Honestly, I would mostly go to see Shakira live just so I could listen to him play haha 😂
