@@drewbocop No, can't say I have. Might be time to give it a shot.. The last time I tried an electronic kit it wasn't an enjoyable experience at all, but, it seems things have dramatically improved since.
I'm not a drummer but I subbed to your channel because you're very entertaining. This device is fantastic. As a keyboardist I love experimenting with all kinds of sounds and it appears that this luxury is finally starting to find a place for percussionists as well. It's a wonderful time to be a musician.
I've been a Sensory fan for a few years now, and this new upgrade is simply fantastic. I was a bit surprised when you announced you got the system as this is SUCH a diff beast of a system, and it's typically played by some of my fave Drum 'Tech geeks' and Jazzers. BUT, that said, I love your playing, and I love your 'no BS' product reviews, so I was dying to see your initial run-through of this rig. You did not disappoint!! Looking forward to seeing you utilize this system with your 'regular' playing style. That should be mind-blowing!! Nice work.....
I'm not a Drummer, but I enjoy watching. You have a great sense of humor and always try to catch the live stream when I can. I Wish you all the best and keep up the great work!
This reminds me of when I 1st got an Octopad. I did the same thing played through the entire library of neat, different and cool sounds. I was impressed and in love with it. Then I took it rehearsal and realized it had no practical application to it. You really have to write the song to these types of instruments and not play these instruments to the song for it to work out right. Fun little toy to play with when you're by yourself and bored
I agree and I can't see myself spending 1500 bucks or more for something like this, as interesting and technologically impressive as it is it risks being a bit of a gimmick. I have yet to see people use it as a way to recreate analogue drums faithfully like hitting the toms and snare in different zones and getting the actual simulated sound, maybe that could be interesting but not for metal I guess
That wet kit had me dying lol. I saw some really cool videos from Sensory a couple years back and was super impressed with what they were doing then - but this is incredible
Back in the 80’s and early 90’s I pushed for the sometimes reluctant drummers I worked with to use Octopads and DK10s that I would purchase and hook into my samplers. It added a great deal to our sound and our live shows. This system is the first since then that has peaked my interest (as a non drummer) and seems like a huge leap forward. In the hands of a talented person this seems like it would be amazing! Can’t wait to see what people do with it. 😀
This is revolutionary and absolutely amazing. Cost is about that of a higher end electronic kit, but for what you get out of these it's not bad at all.
LMAO he has 120 zones (all MIDI channels) on his Synesthesia Mandala drum. The only reason they stopped producing those is because the only person in the world able to play them is Dany Carey in the first place xD
@@jas_bataille I love Danny, but I'm sure plenty people could play them! Too bad they don't make them anymore. This adds a few different possibilities though, smaller kits with more range. I'm excited for what it can do.
Wow! Imagine if one other member of the band walks to the drums and also takes sticks, though the tool is activated. You could fool the audience or can have a great show. Like four drums, two people, one kit :) endless possibilities. Cheers, thx for sharing :)
Imagine using this in a band situation, maybe trade fours with the keys player, change zones for a different sound from verse to chorus. Infinite possibilities with this technology & you did a great first run through for all of us who love new gear. Thanks!
The only drums I ever played were the common air drum kit but never played any real or knock off set and I never knew any of these things existed or were even possible this is by far my favorite drumming channel
As a classically trained singer, most of this drum stuff goes way over my head, but I still find your videos so very entertaining! One thing I really like about this video is how you used farts to censor your swearing; I think you should do that more often! 💨😂
That's so freaking awesome dude, I was giggling along with you the whole time. That meat slapping kick sound had me rolling.. So much fun to be had especially with user made sound kits
The stacked melody options on this (in your intro) reminds me of an old Akira Jimbo video from about 18years ago. This whole setup is rad AF though - love what's possible with eDrums
First time seeing this new product and it’s very interesting. Samus you need to do a video showing how useful this is to us metal drummers not looking for melodies and stuff like that. Scenario are these the best triggers to pull massive superior drummer like sounds out of a drum kit and not having to mic all the drums. Overheads ride an hats mic’d uo and the rest of the kit triggered like you have been doing with the Pearl e’merge module.
Samus, the first 0.36 seconds is ‘excellent for people who have insomnia‘…I mean that in a nice way, it’s very soothing beautiful music. 🎶🎶🎶 The sensors looks like something 007 (Bond, James Bond) would use! 🔫
Making straight up songs using different parts of the drums to make yourself a one man band is dope. Can see that at experimental music shows for sure! OH YERRRR
I've been looking into buying an electronic kit for a long while now, but this is a waaaay better option than buying an actual electric kit. And it's perfect cause I'm not interested in running plastic cymbals pads
this looks interesting, but as a poor drummer, the ddrum red shots with my alesis trigger i/o are helping me a lot on my albums band. We are using hybrid recording with 8 channel interface. But sure, if i had the money, i would really love to try this one. looks like less tweaking and more accurate playing. Cheers from Mexico.
gotta love instrument terminology...i had the lovely opportunity to tell my friend "the g string belongs in the nut slot" i was changing guitar strings, okay?
I’m getting mine soon . Being a drummer for many years this can improve droit acoustic drums sound beyond. I think it can download the drums you want also. I want to see if I can record electric cymbals and ez drummer 3 into.
I really dig hearing you play grooves & not just metal 👌🏼
Who said metal isnt groovy?

Sample pads are on the kit of so many huge touring acts. Extremely useful in a live music context.

Amazing. I'm feeling the taps and bongs it makes. It's new sounds for old drum sets.
