    0.1 results in 1.2 year. 12 ducats in ten years and 120 ducats in 100 years. My intention was to help make it clear for people not delude them. Clearly I cannot make a single video without making a mistake. Haha

    • @brianvieane3907

      @@braxon I believe yes. Money is tight early game through 1500s. It's good for economic stability throughout the game even when it appears that the investment doesn't pay itself off for a 100 years. My rule of thumb is to just not really make churches once you hit 1600s late 1500s then switch to manufacotries+workshops. Never make cathedrals unless you are trying to convert or have retarded amounts of money. Those don't make their money back generally. If 2 churches yields an extra 0.4 ducats per month that means you can support 2 more inf regiments which is pretty much how you think about things. Let's say you have 300 ducats, buy 2 churches give the clergy high admin provinces and dump 200 admin total into the church provincss/clergy provinces if you are strapped for money and in truces or struggling to build up for a war. That could get you like an extra +1 gold. That could get you more troops or even an advisor.

    Hey Monk, just wanted to share a strategy I've come up with that I haven't seen anyone doing and might be worth looking at. Keep in mind I don't have every DLC but I do have the main ones along with the Dharma DLC. So this strategy would probably change a bit with all the DLC's I've developed this from doing Timurids to Mughals world conquest runs and this came about to deal with the corruption mechanic from too many territories. So Ideas: Administrative Ideas, (Core cost reduction) first then Espionage Ideas, for Aggressive expansion reduction and more importantly -0.10 Corruption + another -0.10 Corruption from Policies. So two ideas in and you start saving massive amounts on corruption costs which means you can over extend way faster. Third is Plutocratic Ideas: effectively + 2 merchants with switch government types to be able to take Plutocratic, army morale, unrest reduction, Institution spread, manpower Recovery and a massive 43% increase in manpower from policies. At this point there isn't a conquering speed that can possibly get my manpower to drop it is always maxed no matter how tight I layer my conquests. From here I take Exploration so I can take Australia and the East Indies. More Merchants, more money! This one could easily be switched out. Then it is Humanist ideas which I take now so that I can have tons of rebels right when I want to max my absolution. Usually times nicely with a boost in number of states so I can squash rebels and reduce autonomy like a boss as soon as possible. Then Humanist means that I no longer have to waste time sending my armies across the entire map to deal with rebels. After this it is all military ideas, I take Defensive ideas first because this gives you another -0.20 corruption in policies and then Quality. By this time your army morale is insane, your core cost reduction is insane, your manpower is insane, your money is insane, you have no rebels and most of the world is already yours because you haven't cared about corruption at all for most of the game. Cheers!

    I think you can summarize your notes about trade as follows:
    1. Put your trade capital in a competitive node that you have reasonable control over.
    2. Collect from upstream nodes when you have more influence than your downstream nodes.
    3. Transfer from downstream nodes when you have more influence than your upsteam nodes.
    This will varry depending on the trade nodes in question, but I think it sounds reasonable.

And since trade value means money in your trade node, that you can even multiply by steering, the 0.3-0.7+ ducats seen in the building tab are only the top of the iceberg.

    I like your guides most of the time and i've watched a lot of them, but this one is full of simple mistakes and you might want to redo this one.
    The math on the churches is off. After 1 month you will gain 0.1 ducats. After a year you will gain 1.2 ducats. After 10 years you will get 12 ducats. That means it repays after 83 years, which isnt a good investment in the game.
    The amount of money you are making in production and trade. You really need to look at these 2 combined. Goods produced and the trade value of a province are tied together.
    The calculation for trade value is good produced (0.2*development and + 1 with manufactories) * price of the good. grain costs 2 and you have 5 points in diplo, then the province will have a trade value of 2 ducats per year. This is your production money without any modifiers that you get per year.
    The mistake is where you are saying that a manufactory is a 100% increase, which is completly off and i dont know how you got there. building a manufactory means your produced goods increase by 1. that means you will get an extra 2 trade value. if you have only 1 diplo point to it will be an increase of 500%.
    Manufactories are straight forward in what you are getting: (1*good price)*production efficiency.
    and (1*goodprice)*trade efficiency.
    This counts if you are at 100% tradepower in the node it is collected in and if you have 0 autonomy.
    That means a manufactory in a dye province with 10% prod eff and trade eff will give you 8.8(4.4 from production + 4.4 from trade) ducats per year. It means it takes 56 years to pay itself back.
    But this is only with 10% and without other efficiency building/ideas. manufactories are so much better and it doesnt matter where you build them. 3 dev province or 50 dev province. They will always make you the same money.
    I think you should redo this video, because these are the basics of the economy in eu4 and you are teaching things that are wrong in this video.

      pa ga Basically build buildings to increase your income (like churches or marketplaces which increase trade), press the little button that steers trade in a peace treaty and expand to end trade nodes like the English Channel and Genoa - basically Northern France, Belgium, Netherlands, England and Northern Italy (even Venice but it’s worse than the other two over time)

    • @siinuxxblume5123
      @siinuxxblume5123 5 років тому

      Basics if you are new: never build anything but manufactories and workshops. Get to one of the higher value trade nodes(luebeck genoa english channel). Take most of the important centers until you reach about 80% in the node and then build manufactories there. you will get about 40 ducats out of 1 trade area almost always. Always steer trade into this node,because it increases your tradepower. You can technically take every trade node in the game for that, but the ones i said will help you in the beginning, to fund your buildings easier.

    • @paga1251
      @paga1251 5 років тому

      @@siinuxxblume5123 I guess the "never build anything but manufactories and workshops" tip is only for low development provinces because these are the best buildings. But I am playing as Milan now where most of my provinces are highly developed and I can build other useful buildings

    • @paga1251
      @paga1251 5 років тому

      I'm still missing on the trade thing. So what he's saying in the video is to collect in end nodes or steer to end nodes, and get trade power in the regions within the end nodes by beating countries with power in that node with the "transfer trade power", or with the "steer trade" option if they are in an upstream node?

    • @siinuxxblume5123
      @siinuxxblume5123 5 років тому +1

      @@paga1251 there are 3 end nodes. venice english channel and genoa. The reason they are so good is because every outgoing trade-connection takes a little bit of the trade power in this node away. For example if you have your center in ragusa, then every single province from the venice trade node has a small amount of trade power in ragusa, which hurts your trade income in ragusa. So if you dont take a node that has no outgoing trade it is really hard to get close to 100% of the trade power. transfer tradepower and steer trade are mechanix that i've never used. I cant help you with that, but i usually just conquer people if i want their tradepower and i dont have a problem with taking over a whole node until 1500 with any nation. If you can do that there is no point in steering trade in my opinion.
      When i said never build anything but.. yeah there are examples, but the breakpoint is around 15 base tax where it gets worth it. Also in milan it doesnt matter to much, because you have enough building slots.

Id say the best reason for level 3 trade nodes is the reduction in development cost, to be honest.
