I really wanted to like Sam and Jordan’s table more, and if the plywood laminate wasn’t so obvious it would have been a tougher call, but in the end I liked John’s better. The way he hid the plywood was pretty cool, although I would have picked a slightly lighter stain, more or a walnut, less of a black paint look.
“You hate my guts but you picked my table!” Haha! I think there is a competition brewing between you and mr build it and it should involve something neither of you have done before.
Sam and Jordan should have made a mitered plywood box for the columns, then used the nicer wood for the horizontals and feet. Also should have used some edge banding on the top.
I’d like to see the guys build the Tony Stark table out of real hardwood. I think that would have made it look better. I understand the rules for the build off but I would like to see it remade of superior materials. Great job on both builds.
I started watching your videos for the woodworking but I keep coming back cause I love the constant byplay between you guys. Love your videos great content and entertainment
I like both tables but the moment I heard “I “think” I picked the right file”, I knew Johnny had the win. That and the fact I’m a lover of live edge tables. Well done, guys!
Absolutely loved both tables but the fake live edge was amazing. Hope to see more videos like this. Very entertaining. Plus I was dying at John’s comments. That’s the type of trash talk I love.
For me definitely John! Please do some more of these as they are great fun to watch, especially when you are going to be in lockdown until at least Mar 5th. Your friend from Northern Ireland 💚💚💚
Really like the challenges boys! Jordan and Sam, congrats on pulling it off at the last moment. John, anytime you are carving and wearing that helmet is a good day! I just think about Fig Newton’s every time. Really liked the work with the veneer and masking the plywood with the paint. Nice work and look forward to Jordan figuring out that cnc to really put the heat on the pro in future builds.
Nice work guys, the tony stark table would be epic in nice wood. John did the better job, not only hiding the ply but the live edge and the blended stain were inspired
I showed this to my wife, she said table #1 fits in a lot of different living room designs and table #2 only works in one. Though she did say she would like table #1 with a more chipped looking live edge. Now I have a project for the next few days lol
As much as I really really grew up loving Iron Man, and Tony Stark and yeah, I gotta go with John's table this time... love how it looks and how clever his design was to pull off
This video was super fun! Definately need more of these. Maybe you can challenge other makers, that would be awesome. I'm thinking Mr. Build it perhaps.
Johns table is so much better. In terms of design Sam and Jordan’s is cool but I don’t like the look of plywood so that’s why I chose it, plus that stain blend John did is epic! Now I have to build it 😌
Making my way back through your older videos as a relatively new sub, I am so glad you found someone to properly colour grade your recent videos! This one was ROUGH 😅
If the pirates would have did some sort of edging on the plywood and did more with finish think their table is much nicer. John took something extremely simple and made it look good. They failed when it came to having the CNC advantage also.
The pirates had the base concept 💡 👌 on lock 🔐. It was the weak effort on the top that lost it for them. Guaranteed.. It got a lil too squirrely for the boys!
Love the competition, Loosing should have had some silly “penalty”. Like wearing a dress in the shop, shaving one eyebrow off, having to make a cake for the winner, etc. You know the kind of stuff football players would do,to,each other.
@@AR-dl3kn Just think it would be silly fun. He IS the kind of youtuber who is always upbeat and positive, and I think a little taste of silliness added to the competition (along with everything else he does well), would be amusing to watch (even if they didn't do the "punishment".
I like the black table more too. I think the other table has a really need design, but like you said it - the plywood is killing it for me. I just can't get past seeing all the layers, and the transparent finish is making it even more visible. Perhaps if the finish was darker it wouldn't stick out to me that much. But I still like the classy, more naturalistic look of the first table.
For a homemade live edge Table 1 is awesome. Would have used a lighter stain or more of a red color to make it look like cedar or cherry wood but looks amazing either way.
The art of "smack Talk" win goes to John. Sorry, "team short bus". Does Sam get extra points for working through a head injury, or lose points for getting same? Enquiring minds and all that. This was fun, unless you're on the losing team. hehe
Honestly I've never seen a budget friendly live-edge solution. Great table designs from both teams!
i know Im kinda off topic but do anybody know a good website to stream new series online?
@@rockymayson4323 does*
Honestly, Sam and Jordan made a killer looking table. It would look even better in something other than plywood.
John won because he made an effort to disguise the plywood
he disguised it as poop, I mean seriously it looks like a really big dog drug hit backside across the center of the table.

@@timriddle1401 normally you would comment after you've watched a video. However my apologies if you looked before!
The mail-in votes could sway the results. Just saying. All kidding aside, love them both.
These kinds of shenanigans are why I subscribed, and why I always come back for more!! Great job men! Good to see how much Jordan is settling in!
You need to bring this challenge back! It’s a ton of fun
“You hate my guts but you picked my table!” Haha! I think there is a competition brewing between you and mr build it and it should involve something neither of you have done before.
Curious as to why there's the supposed hate between them
@@jessicakriese6723 I think it’s a running joke. They refer to one another as nemesis in both of their videos but it always looks like it’s all love.
@@Dayon09 seems that way to me, too.
Yeah, John definetely won this one. Maybe if the boys had more time it could have been closer, theirs looked quite "unfinished".
I agree, if they had more time they probably wouldve got me !

This is easily my favorite video you guys have ever made. It was like the 3 project build on steroids. Please please please! Do more of these!
6:42 "Team Short Bus is already in the shop"😂
A challenge has no risk for Same and Jordan, but John's got some serious face to lose.
Fact’!
does John even have a serious face?
I started watching your videos for the woodworking but I keep coming back cause I love the constant byplay between you guys. Love your videos great content and entertainment
Both tables were great. Maybe a "live edge" Tony Stark table for the win?
Making it look like a live edge was a really cool idea
I like both tables but the moment I heard “I “think” I picked the right file”, I knew Johnny had the win. That and the fact I’m a lover of live edge tables. Well done, guys!
True skill + innovation beats cool design.
That live edge is awesome and making veneer to put on the plywood. Thats just genuis.
Going team short bus on this one. Johns effort is worth applauding, but fell short. Thinking this should be a best of 3 series.
We’re no longer friends ..... 🤣
You’re guaranteed to win round two. That’s the only way we will get the round 3!
THIS IS AWESOME! You guys have to do more of these!
Seeing you guys together brings a tear to my eye 😢
Working under pressure brings out creativity. Love the fake live edge, I will have to try that
love this idea of a competition. this would make a great new series.
reminds me of Pask Makes channel - scrapwood challenge.
This was outstanding! ! and really funny! Great to see creativeness in woodworking instead of the same old same old... You guys all rocked it!!
Absolutely loved both tables but the fake live edge was amazing. Hope to see more videos like this. Very entertaining. Plus I was dying at John’s comments. That’s the type of trash talk I love.
Both are great tables! I love these challenges.
The kids did a great job, like yours the best.
You guys should totally make both those with high end materials. Both nice designs.
This, but make it another challenge and they have to build each others instead
He said, “team short bus” 🤣😂 I’m dyin.
More challenges! Awesome work from all of you!
Sam spraying with the hoodie-respirator...kind of the safety squints of masks :)
Nicely done, boys!!
I vote for John because his table didn't look like plywood. Really enjoyed the video. Off to a good start in 2021!
Those boys gave it a good go all they needed was some stain and I'd pick theirs over other one
For me definitely John!
Please do some more of these as they are great fun to watch, especially when you are going to be in lockdown until at least Mar 5th.

#1 all day! Both were cool but I was very impressed with John’s. Both are way better then anything I could do right now.
My vote would have been no 1 as well. Great job guys.

John is straight up bullying them.
Go easy on them man.
I'm glad I didn't have to pick between those two great tables. Great job!!
"It has been "0" days since our last workplace accident"
The coffee table with dark colors looks awesome
Almost 500k. Hell yeah!
This was awesome. Not gonna lie I was rooting for Jordan and Sam but John's table was better. That faux slab was money. Appreciate the Alex cameo too.

Congrats on 500k!
Awesome designs and fantastic entertainment production.
Hey awesome job… Just good clean fun & a little competition..
Nothing ever wrong with that
This is amazing!! More of these
Gotta love the hoodie paint mask 😂 every painter does it now and again.
As much as I really really grew up loving Iron Man, and Tony Stark and yeah, I gotta go with John's table this time... love how it looks and how clever his design was to pull off
This was another great one. Loved the celebrity judge lol. Keep having fun this is what it’s all about!!!
This video was super fun! Definately need more of these. Maybe you can challenge other makers, that would be awesome.
I'm thinking Mr. Build it perhaps.
Table No.2 is the my clear favourite. Would pick it up in an instant.

What is the beef between John and this Mr build it guy? Table #1 is the winner for sure.
There needs to be more video like this on the internet. When it does, I'll know Papa John started it. Great video as always lads.
Like the twist with the challenge, love to see more of them. Enjoy the work!
I love how John's pose at the end matches Alex's
Dude! Great to see Mr. Build It over here.
So much fun and mateship, great to see
John, do you have a video or something to explain how you put together the legs for your table? Appreciate the content boys, really enjoy it!
Great job to both builds. But for the love of all that is good...wear a respirator!

Please do an other challenge just like this one that was fun to watch
Loved it! Great job all.
I really wanted the boys to win, their coffee table was a great design, but John's faux live edge was really great
Honestly impressed that both looked so cool after a two day build! Great job!
Well... I really liked Table #2... Well done guys!

Wonderful work of both team. But I think table #2 won, because they didn't cover the plywood 👍
As much as I loved John's table. The boys would have won if they had a proper finish. And John's

Okay, this was a ton of fun.
Congratulations. Now let them have real time and proper materials to build their table. It was a pretty slick idea.

some edge banding on that tony stark table would have gone a long way
