Making 2 HUGE Mallets, The EPOXY One Gets Weird 🐠🐳

  • After watching a lot of TV, I got some inspiration and made 2 Huge Mallets and one gets really really weird. I make an enormous dead blow mallet to show the process and scale, and then take it to another world by making one with a fake aquarium in it. Filled with water and some floating fish, made from crystal clear EPOXY.

I really love the mallets! Very ingenious.
My daughter is an avid watcher of Parks and Rec. I'd love to get her the Ron Swanson a.k.a. Nick Offerman picture that you have on your wall. May I be so bold as to ask where you purchased it? I'd like to get it for her for Christmas.

You are a brave to attempt all of these thick epoxy projects, nobody else trying it will be so critical of the end results if there's a single bubble or blemish. I have tried just filling knot holes with epoxy and am still learning. Keep it up your videos are great blend of interesting builds and humor.

I've only seen one other deadblow hammer made, and they put glue in it. When it got to that point in the video, I immediately thought "but then the shot CAN'T MOVE AROUND IN THE HAMMER". That completely defeats the purpose of a deadblow design. The bounce from the hammer is absorbed by the shot landing just after the actual blow from the hammer head, "deadening" the bounceback.

the glue is also a mechanical bond, a quimical one is made when the particles of both materials link each other; glue and wood works because of the porosity of the wood and the stickness of the glue

Hey man . I used to run a custom acrylic shop and did the exact same thing that tanked does except I didn’t charge nearly as much money. If you actually wanted to have a fish tank in your shop we could make it happen . If you want to personally message me . We can talk logistics and I can send you some of my work . Most of the cost isn’t actually the materials to build the tank it’s the labor for the guys building them . We can always work something out on that end .
