Harry D'Amour also has a minor appearances in Barkers books the Great and Secret Show and Everville and the main protagonist in the Scarlet Gospels( which is the sequel to Hellbound Heart)
Yeah, the great and secret show is my favorite barker story. Harry may not have a huge part in it, but the events have a huge impact on the barker universe
I was a huge Quantum Leap fan as a kid. One night I saw that Scott Bakula was starring in this movie on tv so I decided to watch. And that movie really opened my eyes to the bloody, fantastic world of Clive Barker and just Horror in general…
Major Clive Barker fan since my teenage years, I remember this one very well, including Famke Jansen way before she made an acting name for herself as Jean Grey.
I believe they would be unable to find a coherent arc to follow, as the two are much like Kings works being far ranging and multiple viewpoint by nany characters...
Thats just Dr Sam Becket accidentally quantum leapping into another life, trying to set right what once went wrong, hoping his next leap, is the leap home...
His tattoos are a cool creation.. when I first read about them I got a couple of tats with that being the same kind of lore around them.. lol.. they aremy protective talismans
..."pinhead"... "The arterial failure." (...thanks for the post, and really. Still the most frightening 'pit' is still the one where heros long for thier own failure, and end thereof..." Bwaaghrghwaghwrgha...,.) ... potato-potatoes-potatoes...,.
Oh man, you have only scratched the surface on this one- should maybe avoid Clive Barker content, as it transcends common comic book nonsense and D’Amour’s canon ranges beyond what you present. Good for starters….
Thats technically not true, most Dracula movies are unconnected.if you consider Godzilla horror it would be the longest running franchise(heard on a podcast a couple weeks ago, shout out Critically Aclaimed)
There are no .38 calibre semi automatic handguns. The handgun in this comic is semi automatic, therefore it is not a .38 Either the author and the art were thinking of two different guns or somebody messed up in the writing.
They could have ment 380ACP instead of a .38, that’s a semi auto cartridge. It’s basically an underpowered 9mm for conceal carry. Which is something I could see a detective using.
Pfft lame ass comic book that isn't Canon. If you read the Scarlet Gospels. You know hell is no more. Hell Priest is dead. Harry is blind and helping ghost.
Good movie but it got that jank. Harry for example, I feel like he should not even been a character in that movie and the girl who was saved was the detective instead of being a trophy wife. Harry's whole occult thing was implied but hardly expanded on, not to mention the cluster fuck of a final act. Like did he really needed to call out a shot to the third eye on nix? Felt really forced to me as if they really wanted to give him something to do. Not to mention nix, who all of the sudden comes out and goes "oh I just wanna destroy the world now!" like wtf even?
..."pinhead"... "The arterial failure." (...thanks for the post, and really. Still the most frightening 'pit' is still the one where heros long for thier own failure, and end thereof..." Bwaaghrghwaghwrgha...,.) ... potato-potatoes-potatoes...,.
Lord Of Illusions is a underrated gem that deserves its flowers
Agreed. One of my favourites!
It does deserve it's flowers
Ultimate facts.
Just watched it for the first time today absolutely loved it
Definition of underrated…
Harry D'Amour also has a minor appearances in Barkers books the Great and Secret Show and Everville and the main protagonist in the Scarlet Gospels( which is the sequel to Hellbound Heart)
Thank you. This video really dropped the ball, there.
Yeah, the great and secret show is my favorite barker story. Harry may not have a huge part in it, but the events have a huge impact on the barker universe
I have always seen Scott as D'Amour in all the media forms. He fit the role and was given Baker's praises.
Scott Bacula is a great and very underrated actor . Cool video !
Lord of Illusions what a blast. thank you clive barker.
I was a huge Quantum Leap fan as a kid. One night I saw that Scott Bakula was starring in this movie on tv so I decided to watch. And that movie really opened my eyes to the bloody, fantastic world of Clive Barker and just Horror in general…
That's a good way to start🙂
Clive Barker's universe ftw
@@therealkreationsdbd Hell yeah!!!
Wow, that's crazy, unexpected, but epic as HELL, I mean I love him in Quantum Leap and NCIS: New Orleans a lot.
_Star Trek:Enterprise_ was my introduction to Scott Bakula
I’d say Scott Bakula is a legend…
Past (QL)
Present (NCIS:NO)
& Future (ST:E)
@@PapaLaw426 Yes.
and Color of Night, but a short role :(
Harry D’Amour is tha man- know he is a major player throughout Barker’s collective universe, The Cosms
IM GLAD YOU DECIDED TO TAKE ME UP ON MY IDEA THANK YOU SO MUCH
I love Scott bakula back in this movie I felt it deserved more watched it like a thousand times even when it premier in 95
Nix is one of the scariest villian in horror
I never heard about him... it's a pretty awesome character. Thank you for making this. I never knew
Major Clive Barker fan since my teenage years, I remember this one very well, including Famke Jansen way before she made an acting name for herself as Jean Grey.
I wish they would put Great and Secret Show and Everville on screen already. Those were pretty epic stories..
I believe they would be unable to find a coherent arc to follow, as the two are much like Kings works being far ranging and multiple viewpoint by nany characters...
This was a great idea for a video, well done!
Thanks for taking me back to my childhood I remember seeing lord of illusions on the Sci Fi channel as a kid.
One of my favorite characters in the Barker Universe. But what can I say I love all of his characters and great creations ❤❤
Fun fact: Both Harry and John Constantine first appeared in 1985
Lord of Illusions is one of my favorite movies ever! I always wished they made a tv series set in that world.
Multiple hells due different cultures. In spirituality, there's only one or rather, the all converge to a single point.
I wish there were more harry d'amour stories. Cenobite harry made me think about Sherlock Holmes and the servants of hell
Thats just Dr Sam Becket accidentally quantum leapping into another life, trying to set right what once went wrong, hoping his next leap, is the leap home...

You created lore for your tattoos?
@@A_Stereotypical_Heretic OH YEAH.. A BUNCH OF EM.. LOL
SENSEI CLIVE BARKER is THE GREATEST.
Harry D'Amour one of his most charismatic creations.
I LOVED this movie when it came out.
This movie is classic!!!!
Lord of illusions…. Saw this on acid…. It was… let’s just say an experience
I didn't know he became a cenobite 🤯
Norton died in the novel Everville. He didn't exactly trust Harry. This doesn't fit in the books.
2:00 a blind lady with a sixth sense? Do you mean Fifth?
Well played 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
There is also the Dresden files, supernatural detective
Harry is awesome in the Hellraiser stories
So, Johnathon Archer, Elim Garak, and Jadzia Dax met the Cenobites?
Holy cow I totally forgot about this movie until watching the video
Lord of illusions wasn’t a horror, it was a film Noir with horror elements.
Also the best femka has ever looked
She is stunning in the movie.
I’d love to see Harry in the next Hellraiser movie
Lol, big error in the title there, what is a "DECTIVE"? 😂
Good going Hawkeye , I totally missed it.
@edwardspruill8788 and I forgot to add, good video!
Nothing about his role in Everville?
Did Harry 'leap' into this cary world 🤭
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Maybe tell Harry's story in the order that it happened?
Waasnt should be DETECTIVE in the title ??
MOVIE LOOKS COOL
It’s a great movie if you like the original hellraiser
I can't believe you've never watched it..
Never seen it but I'll find it.
Most might forget Harry D'Amour, but you forgot Harry Dresden. For shame!!!!!
So hes the Flagg character in a lot of Stephen King books who is connected to everything in some small or large way
The "Dective"?
..."pinhead"... "The arterial failure."

Tjhe DECTIVE..? Were you ok?
EpIc.
What is the longest horror franchise?
Probably something like puppet master or movies with classical movie monsters like dracula, werewolf etc
Yeh, Drac
Thats technically not true, most Dracula movies are unconnected.if you consider Godzilla horror it would be the longest running franchise(heard on a podcast a couple weeks ago, shout out Critically Aclaimed)
I should make a pride zombie movie
You are in a world were there is a zombie apocalypse. And also a world were if you misgender someone, you’ll get punished
HORRIFICALLY FANTASTICALLY INCREDIBLY NARRATINGLY STORY.
That wasn't a 38, it was a 9mm Beretta lol.
All Clive barker just like Stephen King novels and stories are set in the same universum
That didn’t look like a 38 special
bro its mar keh teee. not marchetee

If it's drawn as a Beretta, it could be a 380. If it's drawn as a 1911, it could be a 38 super.
Yes there are. 38 super 1911s exist.
J'apprécie vraiment le *Dr Jimbo* pour avoir rétabli la paix dans ma famille, maintenant mon mari et moi vivons heureux ensemble….
Dr strange? Hellboy? I dont think anyone thinks of them when discussing occult detectives...
Pfft lame ass comic book that isn't Canon. If you read the Scarlet Gospels. You know hell is no more. Hell Priest is dead. Harry is blind and helping ghost.
Looks like Jeffrey Epstein
They're related

Nix was evil from the get go, his way of saving the world was for him and Swan to kill everyone, then he would kill Swan last.
his sounds awesome character but why cast sam beckett ? the blandest actor ever, why not have julian send with short hair
