Marvel Universe Vs Wolverine is hands-down one of the best forgotten mini-series Marvel have ever published. Brilliant art, uncompromising story and action, and incredibly dark noiresque art by the amazing Laurence Campbell. It's balls-to-the-wall stuff. Highly recommended - if you've not picked it up, do yourself a favour. Beats anything the MCU have put out in years!

If you've been reading prior comics, T'Challa's character development has been in the works for years prior, especially since Black Panther has been around longer than Deadpool and they only have so many interactions with one another. Meanwhile Deadpool literally has some of the most random writing in Marvel, which actually hurts Deadpools character development more than it helps him. So there's nothing making Deadpool better than Black Panther other than simply liking him. I like Black Panther as one of my favorite characters and I like Deadpool as well. They both have their place in Marvel comics in their own way. From what i reemember reading, and i've read everything drom the first one up until the end of the 90's, Colossus was his best friend. But Nightcrawler was also his buddy. Colossus because he wasnt afraid of him and was cool. Nightcrawler because he was the marg8nalized mutant and u derstood him. Also he always was preaching to Wolverine and was taking care of his spiritual life. And important trope, since its what was preventing him to go feral. That and his love for Phoenix...and that asian women.

I always wish they would've included Sabertooth with him in this comic. He's in touch with his wild side like Logan but more so. Just imagine if they'd actually kept Cap alive and Deadpool never switched sides. And we got an apocalypse story with Wolverine, Captain America, Deadpool and the Punisher together. Goddammit that would've been awesome.
Deadpool was technically the enemy with his condition but he did have a grasp of somewhat controlling the plague so when Hulk killed him the more controversial deadpool thing mattered which was his healing factor overloading because its kinda weird but his ability to heal is really more connected with his emotion and awareness as a comic character. What I don't get is how little Wolverine's nose perked up at anything. He'd have smelled where psylocke went before Reed showed up. He'd have smelled thing over the side of the building.
Two things I wish this series had, First is a fight with Sabretooth, Next is Winter Soldier... I truly believe Frank Castle, Wolverine and the Winter Soldier... I know Capn America succumbs to the disease.... The Punisher killing him was overwhelming fer me.... but I think if Winter Soldier was the one to do it... would have been some irony!!!!

This is my favorite Marvel story. You get the bright side perspective from Hawk Eye The grimy perspective from Wolverine And the real reason behind everything from punisher’s perspective. Seriously some of the best shit around.
Think its because he is the one of the least likely Marvel Heroes to do a bad act, he is the idealist. So by turning him, or turning him first it shows that whatever it is that made him evil could do it to anyone.

Wolverine vs The Marvel Universe is a brutal story especially when Wolverine and the survivors fight the rest of the heroes that turned into Cannibals.
The virus/gene therapy/whatever in this series reminds me a lot of the fungal infection in The Crossed comic book series. It basically makes you give into your base impulses without thought, which usually makes you a cannibal, murder, and worse.
It's hinted in the comic The virus does effect healing factors. It's why spiderman and hulk can talk and in the main line comic of this story, they are clan leaders and are smarter than the normal infected. Deadpool is himself but isn't at the same time. He eats raw meat and knows it Logan is also infected and at the end, we see him looking like a caveman, as the virus converted his body but not his mind.
Well Wolverine 1990s existence was I'm the best there is at what I do and what I do isn't pretty so I can definitely see this sort of story being told about him.
Adamantium is supposed to be unbreakable......and at every turn writers screw it up. Hulks teeth would have broken on it. Pull the joints apart yes but not chomp through it.
I don't wanna argue for two Wolverines at the same time BUT Logan did once regenerate from a single drop of blood, wouldn't that loose hand at least START to regenerate a gross soulless body?

In the original secret wars Spider-Man flicks wolverine away with a finger. They were better at power differences back then and balanced it vs rule of cool. Now wolverine can defeat anyone because he's cool he barely has any 'super strength' at all.
I always thought how they did the Dimensions one should be where they meet up the DC heros ,&,villions to and the bad guys from both should join together then the heros must work together to get back to their own worlds i think it would help both marvel & DC

well, not exactly, but he's the one you definitely don't want as an enemy cuz he's willing to blur the lines of hero and villain. Quite a few have managed to render him powerless, most notably Magneto who often uses Wolverine as a weapon against his allies and once even liquified Logan's bones. On the other hand, Hulk can thunder clap with the force of a nuclear bomb, was LITERALLY a nuke at one point whenever he transformed (did even more of a mess on Banner's mind because everyone within like a Kilometer of him would be dead whenever he transformed, melted into a bloody, charred paste. At least THAT version of the hulk had a reason for the General to chase after him. There is one problem with this "virus" though, how does it survive Hulk's radiation, the HT's body temperature, infect cells made of rock, etc. Also, how does it spread without contact?
