I liked how this one turned out. “Alizarin Crimson makes a great green” I always take away something from your videos. Thank you for sharing and stay dry in the coming days 🌧️
Nothing nicer than staying by my woodstove while a blizzard howls and watching you paint on the Left Coast! Love how you pushed for depth of field and got it very nicely. Thanks for these stupendously helpful videos!
Thank you so much for posting and having a great channel. Just your manner of speaking and beautiful spirit calms the nerves. You have no idea how helpful watching your videos has been. I love your style and impressionism never looked so good. I'm saving up!
Hi Michael, what is a good brand of alizarin crimson? (the OG non permanent stuff) I'm just about out of my permanent alizarin and would like to get a tube of the good stuff. Thanks! Also, have you ever painted up in British Columbia? I'm heading out on a trip to the west coast of Vancouver Island, gonna try and sneak in a painting or two.
I love the light in the distant hills, beautiful …..I totally got your hesitation to put warmth on there ….I struggle myself so appreciate this video , showing that I need to go for it too. Thank you again for these great videos
Very successful seperation of foreground and background. Although the bushes seem a dark sombre green in the video, you have managed to lighten up the coulers withought being too obvious. And i love the distant hills. Your comment on alizarin crimson just ,akes me want to experiment ! Hope you keep safe in the storms.
I really like this one Michael I love the contrast of the foreground and the background. I really especially love how the mountains look so light up by the late afternoon light in the distance. Magical!
Wow, so the moon sits in your 7th house in the sign of Libra.. Which means that the nakshatra(which reveals deeper info) that rules your 7th house is (Swati) meaning.."the sword" or "independence". It's symbol is a young sprout swaying in the wind, coral. It's God is the wind god (vayu). The mythology behind this nakshatra is that vayu was the purifier that represented breath that sustained all life. The godess saraswati is also associated with this nakshatra. She was the godess of learning, education, and the arts 🎨 The people with their moon in this nakshatra exel in the fields of music, literature and art. Financial and business successes are part of their gifts. They are blessed with the art of communication, knowing how to reveal their knowledge and interest, and are curious and eager to learn. Some are very physcic and intuitive, high strung and shallow. They strive for independence but are always survivors. Swati also translates as "the priest" and they are learned in theology. Because of their Vata nature they must be careful of a diet causing too much wind. ...This all sounds very accurate just based off of what I've seen on your youtube channel..😁 Hope you enjoyed that information.. I can't wait till I'm officially certified so that I can read your whole chart :)
The result looks good (and the process looked fun). Did you not include the interesting trees on the right because they would have pulled the eye to far away from the focal point of the picture? Where did you want the focal point of your picture to be?
If I painted those trees they would have blocked the view. They’d make an interesting subject. Maybe I’ll paint them next time. The focal point is the tip of the distant land
@@chamberlainpaintings I will look forward to your composition with the light/dark trees! Thanks for posting your videos. They are instructive and inspiring.
Hey there, Michael. I was wondering if you would be open to sharing your date/time/location of birth so that I can read your birth chart? according to (Eastern Vedic Astrology) I would love to see what a chart looks like being an artist 🎨
I'm not a weirdo or anything, haha. I'm currently studying Eastern Vedic Astrology and the best way to become a better astrologer is to practice reading different birth charts 💫 No worries if you're not comfortable with sharing that information publicly.
Hello Michael, the mountains advance nicely, but the genus of California Cedar hold them back. Thank you.
Enjoy watching your painting process, blocking in, composition, color choice thank you for posting.
One of your best paintings!!!
Congrats.
those gnarled trees would make an interesting subject Michael. well done as always.

I wouldn’t have thought to paint that scene with the bushes seemingly blocking so much but your result is great

Good one Michael. Like the square format . Hope to see you return to San Fran for more city scapes again!
Thanks! Yes, there will be some cityscapes this spring.
Always an inspiration ❤
What a ridiculously beautiful location! And then to be able to skillfully and sensitively paint it onto canvas? Well. I’m just envious and inspired.

I’ve used Winsor & Newton and Utrecht brands and both are good! I’ve never been to Canada but hope to visit someday!

Very unique composition and beautiful colors overall!
I think your texture in the sea adds to the beauty and interest but certainty doesn't distract, not for me anyway. Well done
Thanks!
Wow. The light effect in the distance, with both mountains and sky/clouds, is incredible. Vital, exciting. Thanks!
Thanks!
That’s my biggest requirement for a landscape scene, overlap! Nothing quite so easily conveys depth. Great result.
I am wondering if you ever paint more detail on the work when you go back studio? Please do some demo vedios. Thank you.
Beautiful composition and atmospheric perspective. Flawless.
Thanks Maura! 😊🙏
Appreciate you explaining or describing as you go.... 👍🏼💞

Looks great! I really like the mountain/cliff!
beautiful result! happy sunday 🎨
Thanks for the painting class! Do you ever others kinds of blue? Like prussian or cobalte? Could do any diference?
I’ve tried others in the past but ultramarine and phthalo blue are my favorites
Interesting tutorial. Captivating video, too.
I love the colors in this painting. Very bright 😊
Great video by the way, I love the sound of the ocean in the background
Thanks!
The greens you did with ultramarine and cadmium yellow only? Thanks!
I usually add alizarin crimson as well
The squares are great!!!
Good morning Michael. Nice sense of depth!
Thanks Miriam! Good morning!
