Really Really love how you tied "imperfection" to the "imagination". I've been doing photography professionaly for 3 years and have never looked at it that way.
am suprised that when you mention that people who sold the xs20 barely used it, happen it to me as well. i bought my used xs20 at lower price, at 99% brand new. the previous owner probably didnt use it much and the price is bang for buck. another reason which i agree is the battery life. having the new npw235 really brings extra benefits without worrying that you run out of power halfway. i was able to do my shoots whole day without worrying. as for the design and size, i seen too many people fall for the retro design and stuck in between xt4, xt5 without giving the xs series a look (or a try). i use to dislike the xs series until i finally gave out on my xt3, look at whats the best featured camera right now and get the xs20 after it ticks everything on my list.
Hey! I’m a beginner looking to buy my first camera and can’t decide between the X-T5 and X-S20 (or maybe even a Sony?). I’m mainly into street photography, portraits, and landscapes, but I’d also like to vlog some moments with family and friends. I love the retro design and manual controls on the X-T5, but the X-S20 seems more practical for video. Should I go for the X-T5 with the 23mm or 33mm f/1.4, or would the X-S20 with the kit lens and a prime be a better choice? Or maybe it’s worth waiting for a firmware update to see if Fuji addresses the autofocus issues? I’m looking for something that will last me for years. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Hey, thanks for reaching out! To decide between these two cameras you need to decide how important is video aspect of the camera for you. The X-S20 has slight edge in vide with Open Gate recording, rotatable screen to film yourself for example and bigger battery in more compact body. On the other hand X-T5 is a bit bigger, but with more pleasant design, 40mpix, tilting screen instead rotating and it also can shoot 6.2k but not Open Gate and weather sealing. So if you need open gate video, rotating screen and as compact body as possible then X-S20 would be better, otherwise X-T5 will be great too.
Hi Jev, nice and interesting test. Regarding possibility of making video. Could you suggest an eternal recorder which could be used with xs20. I would like to record material in 4:2:2. Thanks
Hi! Thank you for your video! Now I more interested to buy the XS20, but I am concerned about the overheating issue. Do you experience this problem, perhaps when using it for a longer period?
Hey, I just tested it for you, I set it to record in 6.2k Open Gate and it recorded 50mins and then turned off but it is maybe due to the battery was empty. Ofcourse I guess on a hot sunny day this record time would be slightly less, but still I think it is a decent result for this size camera.
@ShotsByJev, thank you so much for trying it out. I really appreciate your response, Jev! Having a video recording of 50 minutes is truly a record for the X-S20. I am just very concerned since I am from a tropical country. However, I will not actually shoot long videos, to be honest. Just some day-to-day photos and videos and my travels. So yes. I think I will go for the X-S20.
Yeah, I get you, but then it wont be much different than X-T4 or X-T5 for example. I think we are getting similar enough specs across all Fujifilm cameras so they have to make them somewhat different to justify price difference.
One thing to note, is that the video on the X-S20 is a lot better than the X-T5 and X-T50. This is because those cameras bin pixels and those pixels are small. The X-S20 downsamples from 6K and has larger pixels which gives you a better image with more dynamic range. I just traded my X-T5 in for an X-S20 for this very reason, especially as I do not need to crop into photos. If you are normal viewer of photos (ie you are not trying to make large posters) then no one see a difference between the X-T5, X-T50 and the X-S20. In fact the X-H2S uses the same sized sensor as the flagship X-H2S which a lot of people use for professional photography.
Yeah, I am not big fan of original Fuji strap also. I linked my strap in the description, so you can check it out. Also I pair my strap with quick release system.
Hi I am getting this camera for my upcoming Japan trip. But I have no idea which lens should I get for travel photo and videography. I am not an expert in photography. I just want to have good memory. Please suggest me lens.
its a great camera, but i wish it would be weather sealed..... i live in 4 season climate and I want to shoot all conditions.... so at the end I went with xt4
I love this camera, but that AF problem really bugs me allot. I know a6700 is much better camera than this, but I love the legacy and creativity of Fuji. But damn fix the AUTOFOCUS FUJI.
Well before X-T50 I think X-T30II was nicely priced, the problem is that it should gone cheaper after X-T50 release but it didnt. Still you can look up on second hand market for a decent body for a better price.
@@ShotsByJev wow that was a quick responce XD. Yes I have checked secondhand markets but sadly the price for me is well over 400€! Which sadly is a biiiit too expensive. are there any digital cameras you would recommend for someone starting out in photography?
Oh, thats way to low, its better you save up some more to get something decent from second hand market like X-T20/30 or X-E3, X-T3 could be also good, but you need to save a bit more.
This has been my dream camera for a while now. When you said you're gonna upgrade to x-s20 i got really excited and your reviews shows why. I'll probably be getting this as my first actual camera tbh so by the time i do get this it should be a lil discounted xd🫠

Just picked one up yesterday as my first upgrade ever, and I gotta say this is a BEAST for photography!
Snap! Bought mine yesterday. Actually my first new digital camera in over a decade and I’m so glad I copped it.
Yeah, totally agree, I have been enjoying this camera as well!
Hope you will enjoy it!
Thank you for your videos, I really enjoy them, hugs from Chile.
Thanks, I appreciate the support!
Very precise analysis. Thank you
I love my X-S20. Lately, I have been using it with the 30mm macro. A nice combo.
Nice, mine go to lens right now is 27mm.

@@prettyheeseungg Hi! Did you end up choosing the X-S20, or did you go with a different camera in the end? Curious to hear what you decided!
@velvet_glove hiii! yes, I bought it two weeks ago. and I am so happy with it.
The only thing this camera lacking of to make it perfect is WR function. Come on, Fujifilm!

I am loving my xt50 design, sold the xs20 a few months ago, still a really nice camera.
Why you decidet to replace X-S20 with X-T50? Whas it because of the design or 40mpix sensor?
Can I ask what camera straps you have? Just got an X-s20 & I’m not crazy about the included strap

Change every af speed and tracking to max, it will be better for both photo and video
