  • Wanted to check the valve lash on the Suzuki Samurai, made a video yall can watch to document some PM, and hopefully you can learn from it. This isn't necessarily a tutorial, just me talking to myself while I work!

I have a 3cyl and am looking into checking my clearances. I do have a book with the correct numbers for my engine.
    Thanks for the video.

Is there a precise way of checking TDC? So when the piston is right at the top, the camshaft lobe will be the furthest away from both of the valve rocker arms?

Positive stop. It threads into your spark plug hole, and then has a bolt inside that will STOP your piston. Be gentle, now!

Nice video. So you turn the cam until the exhaust and intake valves on each cylinder aren't under any pressure, then you adjust them and repeat the process?

That's the idea, no load on the rockers and then check the clearance

doesn't really matter if hot or cold. He tells you the size feeler gauges several times 6thou on Intake and 7thou on Exhaust. Made the video pretty clear and precise if ya ask me
