So I just got the Kizer Soulframe which is essentially the same thing except the soul plate & frame are integrated. I initially got them for the skate park but now they have plastic h blocks for them as well as plastic wings for the aluminum soul plate & they perform just as good on concrete ledges. So you're getting best of both worlds. Power transfer of an aluminum frame & grinding of a traditional frame.
@@ThirtyandRollin The bearing had like 1 20 minute session on them, and so think the issue was the middle wheels being a bit wide and the frame cnc wheel spacers being a bit narrow. I think a thinner wheel or bearing spacer perhaps would fix the roll issue. I have another set of wheels that you can try that should fit if you want to try them.
I really want to pick these up but I already have the Sola Frames, I'm not sure if its the sola frame I don't like or the wheels that are on it currently. Gonna pick up the Famus 60mm wheels when their back in stock.... hope to see you and all my other favorite UA-camrs at WYII this year!
Good review! Hopefully kizer comes out with alternate grind blocks so to can have the best of both frames. I’m taking a break from the element 2 because the excellent power transfer is a double edged sword because they are giving me back pain after the session. That’s a personal problem though nothing against the frames
Thirty and Rollin its sucks because I love how they skate but everything is a compromise in life lol... honestly it’s taken a serious toll on me but between fitness blading and pull-ups I’ll straighten everything out :)
Nice review man!! There are some other metal frames coming to the market, but I beleive the new GC would be a nice additon to the metal frames review section of the channel haha! Having there expertise now will be nice to compare to them. keep it up
You might want to try swapping out your bearing spacers for a different brand/style. It looks like the spacers you have in there might be a bit short for your wheels' hubs.
Nice review! I have the solas and really spent a long time agonizing on which one to get. Side note- I appreciated the insights on the bearings and ramps. What are your favorite bearing that give you the most bang for the buck?
as a street riding im very on the fence, skate trucks are metal, skis and snowboards have metal edges, bmx bikes only recently adopted plastic pegs, so i wonder why we all fear using metal in the streets
While the production and information was great, I thought it was kind of weird that you only did one single groove only trick (a back royale) in the whole video. Seeing how a flat frame slides on soul tricks is not that telling to me as most frames are fairly similar in that regard. On flat frames I'm mostly interested in how the groove feels in terms of locking you in and avoiding wheel bite. But, yeah, video looked great
I REALLY like this review and comparison to the Sola, I'm getting a new boot soon and recently got a pair of Kizer fluid 4s but I love to skate bowl and anti rocker just isn't fun for skating transition.
Great review! You look very comfortable on this frame, more so than the Sola... need to get on a set of the Ground Controls now... As for the bearings, the wicked abec 7's are pure garbage (the 9's are "ok"). I didn't worry much about my bearings in the past but once got a set of these I immediately hated them and now I stick to my trusty super reds
I know I need to try some GC's. It's good to know about the bearings because man I felt like I was in sludge. The reds are hands down best bang for your buck!
Nice review! Would love to see you review the Solas with the V2 hblocks. I find that they give me the perfect amount of wheel bite protection without getting in the way
Really great review, thanks! While all the metal frames sound so cool, I will stick to plastic ones until my grinds become more consistent :) Currently enjoying the long oysi frames!
I am right there with you. Metal is fun and cool but plastic gives me the error space I need. And those OG Oysi frames are hard to beat! I just wish they had a lower groove.
Woottt? Someone talking about soulplate widtb, groove height and royales?!!! OK... I keep on watching... Had to be a ahole there 🤣🤣 With regards to the axle issue, this is normal, you have a lot less thread engaged in a 4mm wall than in a normal wheel axle. They will loosen up a lot faster than normal axlez

Nice I need to try those.
Great review brother! You were killing that coping!
Thanks dude! I need to get these frames back to you! Let's skate soon!
Question, were those bearings new with the wheels?

@@drawingslim All good they just seemed to spin super slow and short.
I'm riding the new kizer element II 60 and it's amazing the improvement with the h-block its surreal, and the 270mm wheel base feels amazing
I need to get on some soon!
@@ThirtyandRollin you gonna love them
I made 3d printed hblocks for these frames. No more concrete worries. Love these frames!
Sick!

Man I wish I could go this year but we are expecting our second child's birth that same weekend.
Bummer! Your UA-cam video is the reason I learned to air transition! But congratulations brother! Maybe just bring the baby HAHA.
@@izzyherrera9804 Haha I wish! I will definitely go next year! I wish there was one on the west coast, it would be so much easier to make it!
@@ThirtyandRollin if only man that'd be sweet as well. I'd probably try to go to both events if that was the case!
Great unbiased review. I've heard the cons of metal on concrete without wax but overall a good frame.
Yes an excellent frame for park! Especially on round rail.

I can see that. After a few drops to flat on them I could feel my body aching a bit more than usual.
Thirty and Rollin its sucks because I love how they skate but everything is a compromise in life lol... honestly it’s taken a serious toll on me but between fitness blading and pull-ups I’ll straighten everything out :)
Never thought the power transfer would be that powerful. I'm thinking of getting the soul frames 60 and I'm sure the power transfer is the same
@@anawkwardlifemedia it’ll be fine, just make sure you only use them at the skatepark. They’ll kill your body if you street skate 😬
@@flyingonblades thanks on that! I'm always park blader but I love to hit ledges so I hope it doesn't hurt my hips too bad 🤞

Thanks! Once I can get my hands on some you know the saga will be complete.
Some of us dont have the money to buy fancy bearings.. and we make it work...
You don't have to buy fancy bearings. $20 on some Bones REDS are what I roll on in my normal aggressive setup. These were just super slow.
@@ThirtyandRollin Bro $18 bearings? The nerve (lol)
@@Flooozeee Haha I know right?

That's what the guy that lent them to me said. I think this may be the issue because these were soooooooo bad.
Yo I went from wicked abec 9 to bones big balls bearings and I couldn’t believe the difference in speed.
I’ll never skate wicked bearings again.
Nice review! I have the solas and really spent a long time agonizing on which one to get. Side note- I appreciated the insights on the bearings and ramps. What are your favorite bearing that give you the most bang for the buck?
I am a really big fan of the Rollerblade ILQ9 bearings! Little more pricey but well worth it 😁 but bang for buck would have to be Bones Reds.
as a street riding im very on the fence, skate trucks are metal, skis and snowboards have metal edges, bmx bikes only recently adopted plastic pegs, so i wonder why we all fear using metal in the streets
Plastic just slides better on concrete. Metal slides better on metal.

Unless you're skating round rails that wheel bite protection is like an ice pick.
Nice video Could you do a review of ground control hd frames it would be great

I just bought the Tempish Blax Top will you being reviewing these? Have you had any experience with tempish skates?
