    for a beginner skater, (it's been 20years)
    i was in doubt to get the 243 or 275 frame.
    footsize 43.
    i wanted to go for the FRX (cause of budget) and it felt very moveable, but indeed a bit short so i can fall quicker.
    i didn't have the budget or option to get the FR1's for example.
    i did try (in store, so no room to roll a lot) some fitness(softboot) ones with the larger frame and 90mm wheels. and it had a lot of stability , felt safer.
    but harder to turn indeed. and a bit clumsy.
    i'll use them to roll around town, do some jumps/tricks bit of cruising.
    so i did buy the FRX 80mm yesterday, had no chance yet to go out and try sadly. but i hope i get used to the shorter frame , and i didn't make a big mistake.

    I think a good balance between maneuverability and stability is to have a wheelbase similar to your foot length. For me, that'd be 28.5cm. So a 4x90 would be a smaller, and a 4x100 would be bigger for me. If anyone made a 4 wheel frame with 90s in the middle and 100s on the ends, it'd be perfect. Same with 84s in the middle and 110s on the ends. Also, bigger wheels make toe and heel balancing easier, which is why some freestyle slalom skaters prefer 3x100 or 3x110 over 4x80 or 4x90.

      I have the exact same size foot and have been looking at the Endless 90 ES (291mm). Perfect frame length for us.
      And Rockin make exactly what you’ve said above (100s front and back, 90s in be middle). It’s called the Rockin Mix4.

    I just bought some Helium TIF with 289mm 4x84, it still feels a bit unstable. Should I go even longer, or just assume that I'm going to adapt skill wise. (193cm tall, 46 foot)

    Great video! Thanks. Would you say 4x100 is good frame for beginners? Or shall I stick to 4x80? I'm 195cm and 117kg. Foot size 30cm.

    • @Thisissoul
      @Thisissoul  4 місяці тому +2

      Yes, absolutely 4x100 is the best for beginners and for experts. especially if you are 117kg and with a 30cm foot. then 4x80 is a crime and a terrible way to start skating

    What would you recommend for an aggressive frame for a size EU36 boot? I'm at a loss. Looking for something rockerable (I'd love a slight banana rocker for maneuverability) but I've spent hours searching. Thanks for any insight!

    • @Thisissoul
      @Thisissoul  Рік тому +1

      yes, unless you would specifically want to do Slalom skating (super low speed, super high manouverability and allot of toe and heelrides)
      Any normal skater would be much better off with a 4x 100mm with a rockering if you have size 46-47

      You would have to buy the Them 909 skate to get that cuff. They are not available at the aftermarket at this point.

    So,, when applying all those info on my "foot lenght" (264 mm), the result will be 4x80 243mm frame for freeride skating.. OR do you think I'd better jump to 4x90?
    I'm still confused about the best frame length for my 1st skate.. What I need is a sweet spot between good speed, stability, maneuverability (not for slalom) and control,, beeing able to do some tricks and 180s and easy crossovers, and also on relatively rough surfaces..

      the advice is pretty clear in the video, go for 80mm if you have size 42 or smaller, if you have size 43 or bigger go for 90mm

      @@anas7hamed 84 feels pretty similar to 80, I think most people really wouldn't notice the difference even if they rode one after the other. There are a lot less 84mm wheel options so keep that in mind too.

    What happens if I get a long wheelbase but with small wheels?
    Like... 273mm wheelbase (for 4x90mm) with 4x80mm wheels instead?
    Will that make speed more manageable?

    • @benjiblading2548
