Note that there are two different fuel filters for this generation.
My 2006 5.4 V8 needed the fuel filter with part# FG-1083

i watched this video and a few others and was able to change my fuel filter -- thank you carlos. i'm a girl without much muscle and no mechanic training and i was able to do this, so i want to encourage other women to give it a try and save some money. i thought changing the fuel filter was much easier than changing the oil filter on my 2005 f-150 FX4 (certainly faster & easier to access). i used the FG-1114 motorcraft filter. i didn't have to bleed the fuel line, i just let my truck sit until the engine was cold and took off the gas cap like a few people suggested and had only about 120 mL (which is half a cup for those who don't do metric) of gas flow out under very low pressure. definitely worthwhile to do on my own. thank you for the video.
Great, I’m glad the video could help.
Thanks Tommie Mc for encouraging us ladies to tackle the things that we think we might have the muscle for--lol. I wanted to do this and keep everything as dry as possible. This tip on the gas cap and the engine cold is a big help.
My truck is 06 F150 5.4 Triton. It runs fine and good gas mileage but was changing oxygen sensors and could smell gas around this filter. Nothing wet...just wondered if the o-rings on the fuel filter lines need changing sometimes??
Can someone possibly advise in that regard?
This is a great video. Really good camera work. Nice explanations and good point on the different size filters. Jesus bless.

Excellent video. Very clear and yours is the only one that covers the two different filter sizes and pulling the sensor.
Thank you. I appreciate your feedback.
Release that front fuel line before pulling filter out. It will hold it for you. Also just open up your gas cap that will help slow down fuel flow.
Been meaning to do mine , thanks for the tips, wasnt aware of 2 different size filters, hope i got the right one!
I’m glad the video could help. Good luck.

@@carlosperez-lobomedia24 thanks you
I got a super old fuel filter I can’t take out
Is the tool not working for you?
Are you able to disconnect at least one end of the filter?
I was only able to take off one side
The engine side is awful…. Liquid wrench, rotate, liquid wrench rotate, liquid wrench rotate… pull like hell … it’s the hard o-ring in the line
I can only get one side off
It can be troublesome at times. I would suggest pushing in the filter while finessing the tool and then pull the filter out.
In the video when I took off the second side I used leverage to assist.
