What a difference from the DJI FPV! With the DJI FPV you *COULD NOT CRASH* because even one of these would likely have been a return to DJI for repairs. that's an unforgivable sin for an FPV drone, the entire category is about low passes and shooting tiny gaps (causing inevitable crashes on occasion) and the DJI FPV couldn't do that... at all. Finally the Avata makes a durable FPV on par with other homebuilt FPV drones for being sturdy. The fact it can easily be fixed for $10-20 in repair parts at home from DJI is even better in the rare, rare event you break the frame.
Oh man totally, I crashed my dji fpv on its maiden flight and it just exploded, so I got myself a Nazgul 5, proper fpv quad and never looked back. Gotta say though this Avata does look very cool
+dji fpv have obstacle sensors you can alow

Tough one!!! DJI Avata seems like the perfect drone for me. I know I’m going to crash it at some point and to see it holding up after multiple crashes is a relief. Can’t wait to fly it!

Love the crashes. I sold my DJI FPV (fear of damaging the drone from crashing into walls or trees, which I almost did several times) and picked up the Mini 3 Pro. Hmmm...now I'm thinking this Avata is pretty durable. Great video, BTW. Thanks.

If you want videos/photos outside choose the mini. If you want want inside one shot style videos for real estate choose the avata

That crash is epic, full speed onto a hard rock column, that's pretty insane, but yea it's super durable, also gain lots of confident to beginner who afraid of crashing drones.

@ 1:19, had a "sensor error" just the same and same results....initially, I had thought I broke a prop the way it was flying.....tried to get it home and was way out of control.....its best to land and reset. The error will go away & it will fly normal again.
I was gonna say that your original video was one of the first ones to be released and the most useful part of that video was to show that you survived all those crashes… this wouldn’t be the case for the dji fpv for sure

I just want to know, how do you fix the sensor error? What sensor, the ones at the bottom? I've just read the manual and, there doesn't seem to be any reference to this error, much less, what it depicts or what's the fix.
I have same problem, and the DJI service says we can't help you!

I feel like no matter how experienced you are you'll always crash an fpv drone. I built a racing drone for my first one and crashed it a few times and finally crashed it hard enough to break the reciever and after fixing it haven't reprogrammed it to fly it sense. Definitely fun flying fpv, but will always crash it occasionally.
If the Avata has a 'turtle shell' feature where it flips when it crashes (have I got that right?), what exactly does this mean. Which way does it flip? With top facing up?
If for any reason the drone is on itsback. It will flip back over to it’s normal position and you can take off.
you see him use the turtle shell feature at 0:49 in the video, he does NOT flip the drone over, it flips itself over and off he flies... it only works if the drone is on mostly flat ground, upside down, but its a great feature to often get you flying again without having to walk to the drone and flip it over.

Have you done a video about what you do when you crash in sand with the motors running very hard? I crashed mine in sand and it has it in the motors now, and I am debating whether it's worth the downtime to send it in to be repaired, or if I should try to get the sand out myself

Yeah, it is very very durable! I try it first time, and it stuck on tree. It was shot down by stones and yeah, it still flies.
Although most of the crashes are no hard crashes but more like,
you almost saved it and still crashed crashes it seems pretty durable

I think dji has put the word out that crashes are inevitable but durability is high, this is the best one yet and the music was perfection!
exactly... previously they had created the world's first FPV drone that COULDN'T be crashed without significant damage, and they had to do something about that. if it isn't obvious, the entire FPV category by its nature leads to a much greater chance of crashes than camera drones like the Mavic series, so you simply HAVE to make a durable drone. the DJI Avata is what the DJI FPV should have been.

Yes, the Avata is compatible with the goggles V2 and the RC Controller 2 from the DJI FPV Combo released two years ago.
