Mushy sounding

you know that every switches, keycaps and also what material you gonna get for your keyboard and how you gonna mod it is gonna sound diffrent?
@@mietas3335 yes but do you know how shitty this keyboard is?

Glorious at it again. $500 dollars and it looks and sounds like it was bought at a Toys R Us.
Okay bye Felicia
@@fpsinvader Frank P. customized that board. You saying he likes to play with kid's toyz?
@@UrzasClawHave you not watched his vids before? We know he likes to play with kid toys.
@@UrzasClaw Oh wow, are we not allowed to criticize people anymore? This board is NOT worth it. Feel free to spend hundreds on this my dude, ain't nobody stopping you.
Cant adjust height? You kiddin me? Seriously? My ducky one 2 mini I got for 30$ second hand has 3 positions!!!
$500 is ridiculous.
Glorious has made a fool of themselves with this one
I thought the same thing too. For less than that you could get a great, fully metal, gasket mounted, well sounding build (albeit without the ability to have hall effect)
The knob doesn’t even line up, and the keys wobble.
You can tell they paid him a lot to try and not seem like it was a big deal.
@@Crazygamer-sq1ztYou can buy a Razer huntsmen with analog switches that will be faster than these and will be built way better.
@@Crazygamer-sq1zt Monsgeek is selling a fully metal, gasket-mounted, hall effect board that sounds great for like $110.
$500 for that?... i like the customization but quality seems to suffer.
yeah i have the lynx switches myself... pretty scratchy and overpriced. but to be honest the board quality is not bad, swap the switches for something nice and you got yourself an okay board (not good value though)
@@Aaron-ym5yxBut it costs you $500. Buying a neo65/80 is much better than this one, also better sound and anodisation.
@@兩人行必有我濕焉 i literally said it isnt good value, i have the gmmk pro (og) and i only got it because it was on sale
@@兩人行必有我濕焉it doesn’t cost 500. If you customize yourself it will only cost around 230-250 without keycaps.
9:26 I can't believe how bad this sounds especially for 500$
They had YEARS to come up with a new keyboard. This was their chance. Why ruin any hopes of getting customers to return with a ridiculous, I mean RIDICULOUS price point? WTF are they thinking?
I said about 6 times that it starts at $129
Have you looked at the keychron k2 he or the wooting 80he? I realize they're pre orders but they destroy this board
@@randomfrankp That is for a different keyboard though. The GMMK 3 PRO HE Prebuilt is $349. Thats for the 65% too, the 75% is $369. No way Glorious made a better product than the Wooting 80HE. Yet they want to charge almost $200 more.
@@randomfrankp Ahh, I see my mistake. You reviewed the base GMMK 3 Pro. Not the GMMK 3 Pro HE.
Bro did you even watch the review? Lmao I did review the HE and even gave you a price to feature comparison for other HE keyboards with Razer and Steelseries. The HE boards can be bought for $179
price is $200 for a custom barebones... nuts
Glorious went all-in with the marketing and the "customization" options. However, I've already seen quite a few videos and soundtests of this keyboard and I honestly cannot recommend anyone get this if they expect it to sound good out-of-the-box. Not sure if I've seen other videos fully mod their GMMK 3 to make it sound better... but what I can tell you is that there are so many other alternatives out there for around or even cheaper than this price point that sound waaaaay better, even stock.
any mentions?
@@uhm9355 even the wooting 60 doesnt sound as bad as this, and one of the main complaints about that board is the sound. keychron also makes HE boards now which should sound way better than this. theres also a new HE board from nuphy, and the drunkdeer keyboards have been a popular budget HE recommendation for awhile.
For those wondering, the cheapest HE option is a plastic 60% wired prebuilt option for $180.
Meanwhile keychron has a Kickstarter for their K2 he which is $120 and wireless and for 15 more you get metal and wood framing
@@Zac-wb7hugot a link?
Sure... But keychron offers a full metal 75% wireless for $199.
lmao, Womier M68 for $68. You can't research for fucking shit bro.
theres also a full metal board with a knob on keychrons site (q1 he) and on wootings site any board with HE should have hall effect
For the stabs being loud, I guess Glorious wanted to avoid the scandal of the first GMMK Pro : they had pads under their "GOAT Stabs" but since they ended over-lubing them, the pad got sticky and the keys had trouble goign back up and unstick from the pad. I think they wanted to avoif that, and removed the pad completely.
Could be wrong, but I remember replacing tham with a standed band-aid mod in mine back in the day to fix the keys sticking to the PCB and not going back up
Going through the comments of the sound test made me think people were exaggerating but after listening....HOLY SHIT THAT SOUNDS LIKE CRAP 15$ KEYBOARD
My 45 dollar keyboard sound better than this lol
Dude I thought the same. Like surely a walmart gaming keyboard isnt comparable to a $500 keyboard. Right? RIGHT?
I was wrong. The keyboard is actually just that bad. It really is extremely bad. I would be disappointed if this was a $100 keyboard. But 500?? nah bro
$500 for this , its overpriced . I will buy the wooting 80he
The original GMMK Pro really got me into the hobby, trying to make it flex more and sound better because I really liked it. Adding the Flex kit last year I still use it from time to time even today. However typing on a QK75n with Nixies and GMK Honor Dark which would total about $400, I just can't see the paying the price for this. I also just wrote a review for a $75 HE keyboard, it was plastic but worked great once they updated the software and sounded better than this IMHO. I would love a chance to review one of these to prove myself wrong but just reviewing for a retailer at the moment. Maybe I'll grab a barebone wired. It's definitely nice to see some real gasket performance :) Great review as always!
That price though, the rough customization I like was just over 500 and didn't look as good as some board I could get for under 150
@@Zac-wb7hu They have different models on their website apparently.
There's from least to most expensive:
GMMK 3
GMMK 3 HE (Both Plastic)
GMMK 3 Pro
GMMK 3 Pro Wireless
GMMK 3 Pro HE
GMMK 3 Pro HE Wireless (Pro are all metal)
GMMK 3 starts at 119$, so I'm curious if this is worth. (Probs not for the MX versions)
That's why I specified 'my rough customization'. But yeah, keychron has a Kickstarter for a better hall effect board for around 135, and wooting has the board gmmk seems to be copying for around 200.
@@Zac-wb7hu good to know thx 🙂
@@Zac-wb7hu isn't the Wooting all plastic though? Not that I'd ever recommend this keyboard for 500 or even 150 for that matter
The wooting is plastic, keychron is metal and or wood frame with plastic body, and the cheapest wireless gmmk3 that includes hall effect is 299, bare bones for 250. Wired is 179 and polymer body. The cheapest pre built full board is still 120 with no hall effect, wired only, and says aluminum body in the description but polymer in the comparison so who knows.

Almost half a grand on a keyboard is crazy.
its still not worth it lmao, its usually never worth it getting from glorious, and spending half a grand for ur keyboard to sound like a 15$ office keyboard is wild
not even close you can build a custized keyboard like this for around 120bucks with of course more options since you can choose literally anything since you build it yourself. And even if you dont want to build one, you are better off buying the rainy75 for 120 bucks.
@@SakuragiKing1808 Okay, that’s not bad. I don’t actually know a lot about custom keyboards, so I don’t know what’s high or low.

@@coyotex850 no its not worth it lmao... i don't know anyone who would pay 500$ for a keyboard that sounds like that. Glorious in general just sucks
Rattle on a 500 dollar keyboard is crazy
are you looking forward to the wooting 80he? i sure am and I LOVE how transparent they are with communicating with the community!
lol no. I own a GMMK2 and was really hoping that they'd actually just remake the GMMK2 or GMMK Pro with wireless support. Instead, they gave us this? They literally took out QMK support...why? Don't take out the only way for Linux to customize the keys then say you support Linux, especially when you have no intention of porting Core to Linux.
3000? In a $500 board?!?! That battery size is pitiful.
I didn't even notice that R.Ctrl is gone. I actually use that key FFS. Yes really, you are losing functionality. Why remove a key that every other keyboard keeps? It didn't even add anything in its stead.
I thought the comments were probably going overboard regarding the sound. Oh dear god what have they done? Is that a plastic toy?
This release was bad enough for me to finally unsubscribe from the newsletter. Thanks for eradicating any possibility of buyers remorse I could have with my Lemokey P1 Pro.
Don't compare this to a Razor or Steelseries. Those are a whole separate market. Why not compare it to the Keychron Q1 HE or the Wooting boards? You know, the boards that people would actually compare this to? It's meh in almost every market.
You can have that quality with Epomaker for less much money.
as far as im aware epomaker doesn't currently have any hall effect boards, but i might be wrong. a better comparison would be the wooting or drunkdeer keyboards, both of which are similar in price or cheaper and have the same rapid trigger feature.
epomaker is meh quality as well
but glorious is tweaking with this one
@@Snuffflux Keychron Q1 HE is full metal and $220 for a complete and $199 for barebones.
more expensive than a keychron q1 he
Epomaker is not a brand
this keyboard is a serious case of 1 step forward and 2 steps back. Some of the new aspects of this keyboard are definitely improvements over the old version, but Frank does a good job of illustrating that his keyboard is going to need to be modded to fix it.
The quality is something I'd expect from a $40 keyboard, not the base $130, and definitely not the $300+ ones.
they include the option to use mechanical swithces in the same pcb as hall effect, but didnt make their he switches have legs? thats a really weird choice because gateron jades and lekker switches have legs to mount them to the pcb
You can immediately cut around 150 USD from the price by going wired only. I just tested out a basic 75 % barebone configuration wired and the price was 104 USD.
Adding HE would have cost only around 35 USD more.
randomshillingp at it again
Monsgeek has been using a Hot-Swap Pcb supporting HE and Mechanical Switches for years man and way cheaper with a better quality than that
$500 in the custom keyboard market gets you A LOT OF OPTIONS. This 100% isn’t worth it. It’s not limited. Not specific materials that justify this. Get yourself a zoom75 instead for literally half the price. This is a joke.
Melgeek and Iquinix havin a field day with this, glorious at it again with the pricing.
Maybe the keycaps dont look as good in real life, but i think they look pretty sick here. Also nice that glorious decided to provide the option of hall effect switches, it shows that they did their research unlike a certain other company that starts with the letter "L". The price is EXTREMELY steep though. I don't know if I would pay that much for this, but I guess it technically offers more functionality and customizability than the Asus azoth extreme.
theyre clones of alexotos aether caps
stoobid glorious paying randomshillingp to say random shit
@@forg.a i meant the "punk red" red and grey keycaps that came with the gmmk pro 3 actually, i kinda like it. Frank says he thinks it looks washed out but i think it looks nice at least in this video.
Logitech?
Love your content. Keep up the good work❤
I have to say... this keyboard really is something, but WOW there's a lot of disappointments from my end already. Even if I HAVE the ability to use a keyboard wirelessly, I typically NEVER will... But the fact that you can do that with this keyboard, is definitely something else, and something amazing, I'd love to have that. And I absolutely LOVE that Red theme, and I love the look of this layout better, in the form factor of it at least. I like the more rounded and smooth edging, vs the harder lined edges. But man, for $500, what is Glorious doing over there! Man, there are SO many better keyboards out there right now that are so much more competitive for half this price point, and yes, we all know you can build one for half the price you got yours at, but once you start with a keyboard like that, how could you stop! Like how you could not want that Atom Purple clean looking top plate? How does that knob switch be off-centered bother me THAT much! I don't know. I may be bias in my saying so, but I prefer many many many other keyboards to this one. And they're definitely nowhere near this price point. For instance, the keyboard that I'm using right now. It's called the "Redragon Elf" and it's got a completely clear shell, with clear button keycaps that I put on it, and the backlighting is amazing. Now granted, they don't have their own amazing firmware like Glorious, and I'll always be slightly bias towards Glorious. I think some of their things are top notch and out of this world. But wow, have they gone above and beyond with this keyboard. But that knob switch being off centered, I just couldn't order one for that SINGLE reason.
But I will say... DAMN does that Red look sexy. I am a man of Red, and when I see something bright Red and beautiful like this, I want it immediately. But I couldn't do it just because of that knob placement :( L O L
Beautiful keyboard though Frank, keep us updated please. Really looking forward to seeing more of this keyboard! Thanks!
While Frank was looking over the different customizations for the keyboard, Im here looking at how the price keeps getting higher. Crazy to get a prebuilt for 500 dollars.
500 for that sound quality?! Thats a 50 usd sound at MOST
I've built a plastic tkl keyboard for 60 bucks using some of the cheapest crap on Amazon that blows this things sound profile away
At 13:56 it shows the custom keys you can set. However, I don’t see a key for “Home”. Did they forget to add it to the software? They have the “Home” key in the older version of the GMMK software, but I don’t see it in this new version of their software.
500 bucks? as Axel Foley would say "GET THE F OUTTA HERE!!"
Yeah I'm buying a Boog 75 at that point. I like what they did with the customizer because you can really create something that's unique to you, and maybe if you don't get HE switches it'll sound decent or even good but some of the prices they're charging for things is insane. I will say at least a modest setup can hit around $200 but that's with no keycaps/switches and still pretty high for what you're getting. They need a serious price decrease if they're genuinely trying to sell this.
Damn, it somehow sounds even worse than my GMMK2 💀
Yeah the price is crazy but can we all acknowledge this is one of the nicest looking videos I've seen?! the footage goes crazy man
The original GMMK Pro was an entry point into the world of custom mechanical keyboards, I hope their new offerings draw in more newcomers.
My gripe with the original was how expensive it was for what you got. It really soured me on Glorious in general. With so many great options at the more affordable side, hopefully you get what you pay for this time around.
it was entry point into the world of stupidity
glorious is a shit company
This offering is not it at all a wooting cost you way less and gives you more quality and the better software on top .
I really like the plastic case option
Why does it sounds so much like a membrane keyboard
I can let go of the right control key but I will never use a keyboard with a shortened right shift. I don't know how anyone who types regularly and has regular man hands can use one of these.
INCREDIBLE improvement by Glorious
Man I love that color!!
17:00 That'd drive me crazy as well.
Shout out @randomfrankp for saying it sounds like shit straight up instead of sugar coating it. I respect that. Glorious is an ass company has been for some time now. Way better options out there for cheaper and way better customer service... Wooting cough!
So happy I didn't go with this keyboard now. Gonna stick to my drunkdeer keyboard for sure.
Don't bother. Yeah, other option can be so called cheaper, but if top end 500 bucks flagship look and sounds like this, why even bother to get lower price ones. I have GMMK Pro and still use it everyday, with custom keycaps, artisan keycaps, switches, Knob (this Knob cost 30 bucks), and other small stuff, all of it combined include GMMK Pro it self it still only cost me around 350 bucks, I don't know what was Glorious thinking but this thing is average looking and ridiculously over priced.
Just so everyone knows, $500 isnt completely unheard of in the keyboard space, however... It is completely insane to spend $500 on a board that looks and sounds like that. Normally half a g is going to get you a REALLY nice board and good keycaps and switches and probably a good cable and some other stuff. Of course you can find more expensive options but at this price point they seriously messed up. I wouldnt be surprised if this doesnt lose them their remaining customers
The sound profile 💀
This is what glorious came up with, for the alu 65% HE board its $300 and an extra 50 for some wireless? this is truly astonishingly bad even for a company i had no hope in like glorious
You can get wireless all aluminum Lemokey p1 pro for $120....
YIKES 🥶
that red on gray keycaps hurts my eyes wtf is that color combination
I wish Glorious had an option to not have the knob/rotary encoder. I wouldn't use it at all, and having the hole being off-center from the knob itself would drive me crazy like Frank said, lol.
looking forward to those latency tests. i have noticed some latency when using my customs compared to using my corsair when playing fighting games on keyboard. but maybe it is just placebo, or due to my custom keyboard's switch being heavier than the corsair's cherry mx silver.
Yeah not a chance, the 129 starting price is not for the "pro" keyboard its for the standard model. Sounds just as not thought out as the first pro board, I understand customization and such are a nice feature but quality should always come over quantity, their mantra with this board like you said in the beginning is "a billion customization options" doesnt matter if every last one is still a shit product. I remember when glorious used to be a budget and competitive mouse company, no longer man, really missed the mark hard with this one.
GMMK basically became everything that was wrong with the Keyboard market. If I wanted overpriced dubiously superfluous "custom" keyboards and FOMO limited time drops, I buy from literally 95% of the rest of the keyboard market.
I know this might be random but a long while back you showed you making a cup of espresso and Ive dying to show my gf. Could you do a short or a video on it or if youve upgraded then how you brew your new cup?
I have a GMMK Pro did some mods for the perfect sound I gotta be honest I've bought some 70 dollar plastic body keyboards off Amazon that sound better than that GMMK Pro 3. Anyone know if Glorious offers replacement PCB for their OG GMMK Pro?
I have the keychron q1 he and its pretty good not had any issues whatsoever i did however change the stabilisers and for a fraction of the price
$500 gets you the $30 amazon keyboard sound
Interesting that they moved to a north-bound LED position. That was my only complaint with the first one; I like typing in low-light but need backlit to type (can't do touch type.) I'm pretty happy with my DrunkDeer HE keyboard though and the price doesn't make this an easy sell. I suspect they'll tweak it over time like they did with the original, so I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the review!
Twice the price as Keychron Q1 HE? Hmmm
Clear example of why companies are bankrupt today, how are you going to get a rapid trigger for 500 dollars, having competition for less and with better performance, logitech is not far behind, you are going to know an 8k mouse for 300 dollars when there are mice with the same $70 setup
Love your reviews!
I hate to be that guy. Board sounds like shit. Also saying again and again oh starting price is this $119. Thats with a bone stock nothing board. I dont see an justification in you talking about it without showing it. Thats like saying hey yea this bmw 7 series is cool, but you can still get into a bmw for 5 grand. I wont show you or tell you which one specifically is 5 grand but its possible. Shitty car salesman tatics. I really thought you had some backbone when it came to reviews. You went out of your way to flame Logitech. I appreciate you being honest there. This just feels like a scam. Call it as you see you see it. You know for a fact you can buy a wooting pbc and do something significantly better for cheaper. Not to mention like everyone is saying. Rapid trigger is being pulled from most games anywho. Id highly recommend saying use switches like this for people who wanna do racing games but dont want a controller. What do I know though. I'm just a consumer. NOT a tech reviewer who has seen hundreds of keyboards. You really gotta ask yourself though. . . Does this really feel better than a 200 dollar board that I would pay someone 300 bucks to assemble? Definitely need that video testing different configurations. All the reviews showing $500 customizations with weird issues are not doing this board any favors. I love my GMMK2 so I'd be interested in seeing how the basic GMMK3 build would compare to other keyboards in the same price range.
it doesnt even begin to compare. for $500 you can get something so, so so, much better
@@forg.a What I mean is, you can buy a prebuilt GMMK3 for $180 that comes with HE switches with the option to swap in mechanical switches if desired. How would that prebuilt at $180 compare? You should rather build a custom one for $350-$500 rather than buying this. This is one is not worth the price AT ALL!

Maybe not the best decision. You could have gotten a much better hall effect keyboard for cheaper, but then again, it's not my money.
$500 AUD for the top end...wow
oof, did Glorious just 'hold my mouse pad' Asus?
NO! Not even at 75% off
a hall effect keyboard from glorious was starting to get me a little worried i might have to cancel my 80HE preorder, but i'm perfectly fine passing on this one. looks great, but the sound and stem wobble kill it for me. this is something wooting directly addressed with their lekker v2 switches and makes it feel like the gmmk is still playing catch-up.
does this board support gateron style magnetic switches or only outemu style magnetic switches?

That's so expensive for such a terrible sounding keyboard.
Jesus it sounds rotten, Glorious should change their name to Shameless.
I wonder if you can put the gateron he switches into this board... ive never really liked glorious switches, especially the linx
Why would I get this when I can get a fully built Wooting 80HE for $60 less than the barebones?
I'll play around with it, if i can get it cheaper than a wooting maybe if not rooting gets my money
Being able to use MX style switches or Hall Effect switches on the same board is sweet but the rest is just nonsense. I'd still rather choose the Asus RoG Azoth over this if I have wanted a gamery board or go with a Neo or Qwertykeys board.
You Should give Keychron Q1 HE a try for the price and quality is way better.

I'm still waiting for Wooting 80He.. but damn this keyboard look sexy as hell.
membrane sounding ahhhh keyboard
the prices are a little high. And while I love the exo shells it suck that you cannot get an exo bottom plate for wireless
kind of insulting to not have all the plates included for that price
This is what I've been waiting for! THIS IS CRAZYYYYYY
Looks pretty sweet all around, but I’m still a little bitter about the sticky stabilizers on my pro. Certainly hope that’s well behind them.
Meanwhile geon is making $60 frog with HE compatibility
Might as well buy a console at that price
$500 for no internal, or external weight, when it has essentially the same internals and features of prebuilt aluminum HE boards at the $120 or lower range is just egregious. cant believe they had so much time to catch up with how fast the keyboard market has evolved and yet they STILL fell flat with this release. I would pay 140$ max for the prebuilt variant shown in this video, especially for a company with the size and manufacturing capabilities as glorious easily being able to get the price lower just from having access to more machines.
